Saw the first post today releasing contents and price so have started this thread. Let the spreadsheets commence.

Revolution Beauty £50 beautyadventcalendar.net/revolution-advent-calendar-2025/ https://www.instagram.com/p/DLQEY5ao22M

I’ve called it S&B as there’s usually discussion of nice food, socks, jewellery and other item ACs as well.

@Puravida23 - yes, 2022 was such a good year for discounts!

Sadly, being quite new to beauty a/cs, I didn’t fully appreciate all the bargains at the time. However, getting the brilliant LF one for £45 in a few hours only BF sale was an all-time bargain for me!

On a sort of related note:

Re: the best A/C customer service, I received one calendar in 2021 that had been bashed around in the post and everything had come out of its packaging. When I rang to complain, (expecting maybe a £5 goodwill refund), I was sent a new one, (despite it being sold out), and told to keep the old one with their apologies!

By contrast: I had a relatively expensive item missing from a sold out M&S calendar one year and you wouldn’t believe the runaround I got from them, before - very grudgingly- they refunded me £5.

pinkchampagne1 · 07/08/2025 12:28

I remember missing out on the bargain calendars in 2022 and hoping to bag a bargain the following year, but the 2023 calendars all seemed to sell out before Black Friday.
I think they now release them earlier so they sell out before November.

This year could be different again. I've noticed that a lot of edits don't go as fast as they did a year ago. IIRC the Liberty, CB and SNK edits would go fast - often in a few hours or with a day or so.

The odd really desirable one still does but it appears to me they are hanging around a lot longer than they used to. Sometimes a few weeks. The last Liberty scent kit is still available to buy a few weeks later and my impression is that these used to sell out very quickly.

Whether this will translate to AC's I'm not sure. I wouldn't be shocked if this year some get discounted later on.

AprilLady · 07/08/2025 13:09

I’ve been buying these calendars longer than I should probably admit to, but my stand outs over the years have been:

  • Look Fantastic 2017 calendar, the one with the Alice in Wonderland themed blue box with mirror. My first serious advent calendar and I loved it.
  • F&M’s first ever calendar in 2018. A huge and different box to the ones they do today and my first luxury advent calendar. While the value wasn’t as high as the ones today, it was amazing for me at the time.
  • Harrods 2021 calendar. Possibly my favourite of all time. It was the first year they stepped up from a calendar that had been a bit of a joke (lots of small sizes and massively overpriced compared to the rest) to a great very high value calendar. Each item came in its own little Harrod’s pouch. It had lots of things I love too. I remember the first release sold out even quicker than this week’s fragrance calendar. They released at midnight and it was sold out before 9am the next day. I think everyone upped their game after this one.
  • Vogue 2023 calendar. More expensive, but all genuinely fulll size and felt incredibly indulgent. The box itself was beautiful too.

I agree that bargains wide the Flannels 2022 was incredible, and SpaceNK was probably the pick of the 2024 calendars.

IlovePond · 07/08/2025 13:14

I remember those little velvet pouches @AprilLady - I wish I had splashed out on that a/c!

This year’s Harrods isn’t tempting me at all.

By contrast, I think their hair one is better than last year’s.

OvaHere · 07/08/2025 13:15

I wish I hadn't missed out on the golden era of AC's. Some of them sound great and quite a few amazing bargains too.

Cardtrouble · 07/08/2025 13:17

I second the vogue 2023, it was beautiful to look at. It's kind of ruined advent calendars for me because nothing has matched it since

Me too! I'm not enjoying the conversation about what weve missed out on! This is a great thread though. I'd never really thought about beauty advent calendars before but I'm really getting sucked in. Roll on December!

I’m posting a lot today because I’m sick in bed and fed up at having to cut my UK holiday short😿

I’m entertaining myself by curating my own fantasy a/c.

Here it is:

Three perfumes
One each of eye cream, moisturiser, night cream
One each of: Lipstick, blush, gloss, mascara, eyeshadow stick, mascara
One body cream
One each of: Shampoo, conditioner, serum, scalp scrub
One perfumed body oil, one perfumed shower gel, and one perfumed body lotion to match one of the perfumes, (see item one 😹)
Cuticle and nail oil, (I would never buy it myself, but happy to use it if it appears in an a/c)
A really good quality and pretty hair claw
Sunscreen, (only just discovered the stuff you put on under makeup and would be happy to find out more about it - but NOT as door 25!)
Pretty makeup bag, (not horrifying like the one in this year’s HN)
Slip scrunchies, (I am a recent convert)

In the unlikely event that any of you experts see one that almost meets my criteria, please let me know!

What would be in your ideal a/c?

HN has the hair claw and scrunchie.

IlovePond · 07/08/2025 14:10

Thanks @OchonAgusOchonOh - I’m a lot better than yesterday!

I will look again at HN, (although I do admit to being put off by the toothpaste and the bag…)

£30 off for AMEX holders is a definite bonus, though.

I felt the same about the toothpaste in H&B last year and ended up loving it. Plus it's unlikely to be in a drawer on its own at the HN price point.

I'm just pushing for sales for them given the excellent customer service I got last year 😂

I think my perfect calendar would be:
Skincare: A full size luxury night cream, day cream, night serum, day serum, eye cream, sheet mask, cream mask, face oil, cleanser, toner, spf.
Haircare: shampoo, conditioner, hair oil.
Makeup: mascara, blusher, bronzer, lipstick and lip liner.
Body: perfume, body wash and cream.

And then any other bits and bats would be fine - not too much to ask for really 😊

OvaHere · 07/08/2025 14:27

@IlovePond Also hope you feel better soon. It's not a perfect match but the Elle calendar might be a contender. If you join the waitlist you can buy it at release for £125.

I'm sure I saw one with some posh nail oil in but I can't remember which one now.

Mine is basically this probably minus the spf and facial oil. I like spf products but not at xmas. I don't love facial oils but could live with it if it doesn't replace a serum or cream in the box.

Not a fan of nail stuff.

Okay with the odd accessory like slip scrunchies, a clip or a wash band but strictly one accessory per calendar please.

LightandBreezy · 07/08/2025 14:37

I was offline most of Monday so missed the Harrods fragrance calendar presale (grr! bad marketing team!) and now feel like I'm not sure if I'll get anything this year. I did enjoy Space NK last year, it was a really nice selection of makeup and I used most of the skincare but just feel like I'm harder to please now I've found most of my hero skincare products. My favourite luxury advent was probably my first cult beauty one (2019/20?) that sold out in hours. It was a lot of hype and a thrill at the time! Or maybe my first Liberty one - it had a Diptyque candle and Le labo fragrance and they look special and festive.

Addictedtobeauty · 07/08/2025 14:41

Are slip scrunchies really that good? ? I buy W7 skinny silk scrunchies from Tesco and they’re about a fiver for 6 so a good bit cheaper than the real deal. Called silky knots, made of 100% mulberry silk.

Mine is similar except no make-up, tube mask instead of sheet, a few perfumes, cleanser should be a balm, no hair oil, a fancy soap instead of body wash, body exfoliator, foot cream and maybe a face treatment are two such as hyaluronic acid, vit c etc. These last two can be in a serum.

I would also like a decent sized candle.

OvaHere · 07/08/2025 14:44

@OchonAgusOchonOh it has to be a decent size candle. You can't smell those mini ones unless you virtually stick your nose in the flame.

IlovePond · 07/08/2025 14:44

Thanks @JoRaRaRa and @OvaHere - interesting that our ideal a/cs are similar!

Footcream is an interesting one @OchonAgusOchonOh - I could add that to my list…

Yes. I hate the small ones. They are useless.

OvaHere · 07/08/2025 14:45

@IlovePond only luxury footcream I've rated is the Margaret Dabbs one. That would be nice but most do nothing for me.

No, I'm not a fan of nail stuff either, mainly because I can't do my own nails so they're pointless for me.

Oh yes, a nice candle would be nice too 😊
