Saw the first post today releasing contents and price so have started this thread. Let the spreadsheets commence.

Revolution Beauty £50 beautyadventcalendar.net/revolution-advent-calendar-2025/ https://www.instagram.com/p/DLQEY5ao22M

I’ve called it S&B as there’s usually discussion of nice food, socks, jewellery and other item ACs as well.

@JoRaRaRa I've never tried anything from Eve Lom. A friend recently said the cleansing balm is very good. Annoyingly I did have one from an edit at the beginning of the year which I sold for a steal on Vinted thinking I wouldn't like it. I should have tried it.

I get Eve Lom and Liz Earle mixed up a lot, not sure why but I do!. I tried a Liz Earle face polish thing years ago and it wrecked my skin so that was probably what was on my mind.

owlexpress · 07/08/2025 10:38

@OvaHere I really don't like the Eve Lom cleanser, I feel like it leaves a film. I'm a Clinique Take the Day Off kinda gal.

Thanks. I probably won't like it then. I'm very fussy about cleansing balms. My favourite is the Tatcha one that released last year but it's very pricey for a tiny amount so I use 2nd best ones too and try to pick Tatcha up when there's an offer.

OvaHere · 07/08/2025 10:58

Just thought, maybe SpaceNK will put the Tatcha one in the AC. I'd be happy with that.

What are people’s all-time favourite calendars?

For me I think it’s a toss up between the 2021 H&B, an M&S one from ages ago, (but I skipped last year’s as it didn’t appeal), and the 2022 LF calendar, which was brilliant.

In terms of consistency, I have liked ALL my Rituals calendars, but overall I prefer mixed brands.

In terms of disappointments:

The 2023 Clarins 12 day calendar was a miss for me, (although I do now repurchase the BB and have reused the box).

Last year’s Shiseido - but only because 90% of it was teeny tiny sizes and the only full size item I can remember was that electric blue eye pencil! It was lovely stuff, though.

As you can see, I am more of a mid-low range buyer - I like to have a couple of calendars to open and keep balking at spending £250+ for a single item.

Last year I had Rituals that I picked up for under £50 as it was the 2023 calendar, and the 2024 Shiseido that I got at a third off. This year I do not have a bargain calendar in hand, and will probably end up with just one so am looking at reveals with interest!

IlovePond · 07/08/2025 11:01

I’ve no idea why my post posted twice!

pinkchampagne1 · 07/08/2025 11:11

The Harrods calendar from
last year was my favourite - it was full of luxury products. Was so looking forward to this year but it doesn’t seem as good.

MonkeyTennis34 · 07/08/2025 11:13

I’m also not a fan of the Eve Lom cleansing balm…think it might have been the fragrance.
Love Elemis and currently enjoying using the Pai cleansing oil which I think I got in the JL Mother’s Day box.

I absolutely love the eve lom balm cleanser. Whenever I go back to using it, I get compliments about looking glowing 🥰 It's the only one I buy, the others I use are from ACs, edits, free gifts etc, I tend to buy it in bulk from tkmaxx when they get it in. I recently got the 450ml pot so I'm good for cleansing balm for a while 🤣

I'm the same with liz earle products, they just don't agree with me. My mum, bless her, bought me a liz earle gift set 2 years in a row and they're still sat unused under my dressing table.

Probably a toss up between liberty and harrods last year (beauty). Also rated the selfridges one - this year's offering not nearly as good.

It's as though they have formed some sort of cartel to agree not to provide quite such good booty this year or something!

Flannels 2022 was probably the best bargain of all time. Latest in Beauty was also good that year. I've also liked Space NK 2020 (my first luxury calendar and had a Diptyque fragrance, Jo Loves candle and a Chantecaille mask that was £££ and I could never justify buying, but it was amazing) and Space NK 2024 (just so useful and practical, I've used it all).

I only buy 1 a year and my favourite one was the 2022 harrods one. The decree treat tincture and elemis night cream was 🔥 Although the Tom Ford lipstick from last year's was nice 😍

Arrearing50 · 07/08/2025 11:23

I’ve had lookfantastic calendars most years, they do a good job of value for money and interesting products. I’ve never regretted a f&m calendar either I’ve had 3 of those…

f&m looks good this year but feel they needed one more exciting product. Guess it’s been a really tough year for all retailers.

Puravida23 · 07/08/2025 11:32

Good question @IlovePond . I have lots for various reasons.
Elle advent 2018 - My first beauty advent . I loved it at the time but just had a quick google and not sure if I would buy now
Flannels Advent 2022 when they reduced it to something like £117 Amazing bargain. loved it for the value for money
Latest in Beauty 2022 . Their first and by far their best advent. Full of full sizes and perfectly curated for me at the time
To be honest 2022 was the magic year for advents when a lot were reduced and there were bargains galore.

Puravida23 · 07/08/2025 11:38

@owlexpress Just seen your reply we are advent twins
2022 was the golden year . I think that might have been the year Net a Porter and Selfridges also reduced theirs (which I didn’t buy and still regret)

Arrearing50 · 07/08/2025 11:39

Oooh @owlexpress i think I had space nk 2020 - I think I got it 24 Nov with the Christmas cracker, massive discounts and it included a gift card - and I’ve not bought space advent since as I could never beat that haul!

OvaHere · 07/08/2025 11:39

I'm too new to AC's to have an all time favourite. I only discovered them last year (where have I been?).

My best purchase last year was probably LF - fairly inexpensive and had some good stuff in it. I also liked the Harrods Hair and Beauty last year.

What I pick up this year really depends on whether I end up buying a £250 + AC. If I don't then I probably will get a few lower priced ones.

Me neither, I have combination skin and it brought me out in spots. As you say it is very greasy.

I did spot when re reading about Selfridges that the reveal wasn't a full reveal. There's still more products they haven't announced yet. I agree what was revealed didn't wow me.

I'm looking forward to the Look Fantastic one this year, it's their 10th anniversary so I'm hoping it's a good one. Although, most of them have so far disappointed me, so maybe I should have low expectations 🤔🤣

Edited

The 2022 Flannels Advent calendar has got a place in my heart as is what really kick started my love of the multi brand ones. I ended up paying about £180 as it was discounted and was my first time trying high end brands such as EGF serum, Augustinus Bader and Medik8.
I think 2022 was a brilliant year for the advents in general actually. I spent hours watching unboxings!

Oh that's interesting. Be good to see if they do release more.
The teasers from cult beauty and what I can work out from the sephora box aren't doing it for me currently 😮‍💨 I'm going to end up with no AC at this rate 😭

I'm looking forward to this one too. I don't expect to love every single thing but it's usually really good value so if I like a good third of it then it's worth the purchase.

The beauty vault they do in January is usually really good too. Although my beauty box sub ends in a couple of months so not sure I will get access to that one unless I resubscribe.

SoloCat · 07/08/2025 11:53

I remember the first Liberty ones back years ago. Absolutely loved them, very new and exciting. I had the Dyptique years ago too…that was gorgeous, but the amount of tiny candles 🙄
I had Space NK last year and it was really a great mix…lots of full sizes.

I think that they’ve somewhat lost that magic…now there are advents everywhere!
I still participate fully though, say I’m only going to buy one and end up with 4!

If Jo Malone do one with Scarlet Poppy in I may succumb this year 😁

Growlybear83 · 07/08/2025 11:58

@IlovePond I think my absolute favourite was the Jo
Malone calendar four years ago - I didn’t know beauty advent calendars existed before then so it was really exciting. Since then, I think my favourites have been the main Harrods calendar in 2022, and the Harrods and HN fragrance calendars last year. The Flannels fragrance cracker is always really good value too.

my best ever bargain was the 2022 Acqua di Parma calendar which I got in TK Maxx the following year for £80 and I’ve got last years L’artisan parfumeur calendar tucked away for December which I bought in their half price sale a couple of months ago.

The most disappointing I’ve had were M&S two years ago and L’occitane last year. I also wasn’t impressed with Lumene because I was allergic to several of the items.

The most unexpectedly good calendar was last year’s Jarrolds 12 day calendar which I got for a really good price on Vinted.

Otherwise I’ve been very pleased overall with all of them - so far the others I’ve tried have been Liberty, Penhaligon’s, Maison Margiela,Neal’s Yard, Korres, and Ghost.
