@Lunde sorry to hear about your feet problems. If Crocs work for you, great! All the young ones wear them round here, and I've noticed girls and young women with jewelled bits added on, they're definitely a thing!
I've just posted about Leti, who has famously struggled with feet problems. She's had to ditch her collection of sky high stilettos and look elsewhere. She often wears low heeled slingbacks (qv), but we've also seen her in loafers and Barefoot shoes.

@Lunde the same, I can’t wear pretty shoes. Most of mine are from vionic and actually quite a few from good old Marks and Sparks. For heavy day wear I need vionics as have in built arch. The occasional fitflop as well. Will take a proper look at Sole Bliss but on first look no arch support.

Maybe Lady Helen arrived in her croca, then realised her lovely shoes were in a bag on the hall table? (I could relate to that!)

Love it @eggandonion
Or perhaps she placed the shoes she wanted to wear on the roof of the car, got distracted and they drove off and the shoes flew off the roof on the motorway.
This happened to a lovely neighbour. I did actually see one of her shoes on the dual carriageway near our home. 😀

CurlewKate · 27/06/2025 10:54

I took a screen shot of Helen’s crocs and sent it to my adult children, claiming royal appointment for mine. They were not impressed.

They need to get with the times! All the trendy young folks here wear them!

Plastic footwear is hideous. No exceptions. Also a poor choice on environmental grounds.

Personally I'm loving the trend for fisherman's sandals and hoping that - a bit like midi dresses? - it never entirely fades away because so many women find them comfortable and versatile.

eggandonion · 27/06/2025 11:19

I went to work in comfortable clothes one day. And realised my comfortable clothes resembled pyjamas.
When is the Jeff Bezos wedding?l hope they will release photos.

I don't know, but I've already seen pictures of the Kardashians and Oprah et al. Some splendid outfits, no doubt.

Anyone else see a resemblance between Lady Helen in that photo and the much photographed by the Press, Lady Amelia Windsor.
she is her niece I think.

Yes, they both have a resemblance to Lady Helen's mother (and Lady Amelia's grandmother), the Duchess of Kent. She was always such a stylish woman, I used to look forward to her Wimbledon outfits!

Meanwhile, tiaras in Norway for the French visit. King Harald is looking frail after his recent bout of ill-health (Sonja has also been ill but seems to look more healthy - not sure about the scarlet sash and purple dress combo, though). I like Mette-Marit’s elegant white dress, though it’s not a very evening-dress style. I love Princess Astrid’s ballet pumps with sparkly toes. Ingrid-Alexandra looks very elegant in a dress that could be va-va-voom, but she wears it very well.

Apparently (according to a Norwegian Royal family page on Insta) Princess Ingrid curtsied to all of the passing guests . This was neither necessary (from a protocol pov) nor appropriate (2nd in line curtsying to everyone, non royals, politicians etc). Concerns raised that she isn’t getting the training she will need in protocol for future role, and with her move to Australia she will not get it. Contrast with CPV and how Estelle is being raised from a young teen to learn the ‘how to Queen’ side of things.

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 27/06/2025 12:38

Yes I thought that was very odd.

I don't think there's any chance of them not releasing photos as they'll want all the publicity they can get. The Jordanian royals are there, who knew they were such good friends of Bezos??

RomainingCalm · 27/06/2025 13:12

Not a great photo but here is Queen Rania at the Bezos wedding. I'm sure it cost £££ but it's a rare miss from me for her dress - the shawl doesn't help.

eggandonion · 27/06/2025 13:45

Oh Rania, I don't like your outfit!

justasking111 · 27/06/2025 13:51

I'm amazed Rania attended. I've never seen so much trash at one so called wedding.

Sidebeforeself · 27/06/2025 15:48

Rania looks like she’s forgotten to take her pinny off when answering the door!

Maireas · 27/06/2025 15:50

Rania is normally so elegant, I don't know what's gone wrong here.

OP posts:
Eaumyword · 27/06/2025 16:30

Rania, nooo! It does look like she couldn't decide between three outfits so wore them all...

Apparently it’s not even a wedding as they allegedly got married in the US.

I sometimes wonder how people with so much money and access to designers and stylists get it so wrong.

I can understand why Camilla, Catherine etc. find styles they like and stick with them by having multiple colours.

eggandonion · 27/06/2025 17:17

Sometimes it looks like whoever packed the bags has put the wrong accessories in. A safe style is dull but less is more.
Oprah seems to like going to weddings.

chesterelly1 · 27/06/2025 21:50

Rania’s outfit is reminiscent of a badly packed Amazon parcel so maybe wholly appropriate.

Philippe and Mathilde are stranded in Chile after their plane home from a state visit developed a problem shortly before takeoff (the tow truck allegedly damaged one of the tyres - whoops).

Well if it's any comfort the royal/government plane was at Brize Norton when the saboteurs were on base.

Technology does go gremlin
