I've just seen a close up of Kate and she looks exquisite. She does suit a hat. I think she looks like the most regal of the lot of them 😆
Obviously she's a beautiful woman, but there's a serenity about her which is compelling.
As someone said upthread, the closeup photo makes her outfit look more teal than icy blue and I think teal looks great on her

Of course! Everyone’s taste is different. It is obviously quite normal to not like what someone is wearing. Commenting on that is different to commenting on the children somehow being “forced” to wear clothes and that they must be “unhappy” and “uncomfortable” which is what some posters were saying. That is more a judgment on the Royal Family itself imo which is straying in to different territory. The same with comments about Catherine et al being “clothes horses”

We often have wildly differing opinions on outfits on this thread! Edem being the biggest divider usually!😆
Looking very county as my mother likes to say in hushed reverential tones is also a divider on here, but it's all in good fun!

I doubt it, although I suppose it could be related to her father in some way. But my hunch is it's just a fashion piece.

Possibly. The black is probably a better choice.

I don't actually know about the orange figure @Maireas; it looks like a museum or art gallery, so I guess it could be both, or neither.

@locketrocket I like the outfit better with the black boots, although brown or olive would have worked just fine. Mary is very good at the country look, intentionally breaking 'rules' or messing with an expected formula to make prescriptive outfits just that little bit more interesting.

My absolutely last comment. I neither implied nor insinuated anything about Charlotte. I just didn't
like her dress.

I love that outfit on Mary - it’s what I’d love to pull off in the Autumn/Winter with gorgeous brown boots but sadly find myself looking rather more ‘sack of spuds’.

Thanks for posting the Royal Race ‘sport fashion’ pictures - I smiled at the fact they all have their names on their fronts - would love to see ‘Charles’ ‘Cams’ ‘Wills’ ‘Kate’ and the kids in a similar event although I suspect we won’t!

Marie looks very pretty there, that's a floral dress I can get on board with, it's not too fussy and really suits her.
