My Liberty scent set has also been dispatched! Hope it arrives before I go on holiday.

Mine is due to arrive today!

Got myself Turkish Rose by Nest.

Really sweet jammy rose. It’s a perfume oil so lasts a long time

IDontHateRainbows · 15/07/2025 20:01

Scent kit from Liberty arrived. It is mainly freshies/zingies which is interesting to try but I do think they could have mixed it up a bit. Anyway I'm going to pace myself and started with Vyrao Sun Rae which I was looking forward to trying. I like it. It's definitely a zingy one with citrus and ginger in. I haven't massively got along with Vyrao before but this one is definitely a grower, and I'm not auu huge citrus fan normally. It's supposed to be for 'joy and happiness' - cheesy marketing I know but it's definitely ticking the joyful, happy box for me. Won't try any more tonight as I want to eek out the newness.

Bizzarely my beauty drop box which was supposed to arrive the same day couldn't be delivered - think they must have used a different courier - so they are sending a new one. That has a mini Dear Polly in which I know I will enjoy. The Granado I'm not so sure.

Anyway happy with this for now .

Not from the scent kit but ds and durga debaser called to me today. It's fig but quite sharp and fresh so maybe I'm getting into freshness. In the past I've combined it with parisian musc which is a creamy fig but today I felt like wearing it as it is.

Who knows I could be entering a whole new era of freshies! My tastes definitely evolve over time eg I used to hate amber now I love it.

Debaser is nice, very similar to Philosykos. I do enjoy a fig tree scent!

I’m in the mood for tea this evening - Dear Polly on one wrist, Proad Green Tea on the other.

paristotokyo · 16/07/2025 12:10

I’m very jelly about the scent kit and have fomo from afar :) it looks so good! I love a freshie

SOTD - Moonlight Cherry - new fragrance from Van Cleef & Arpels - I got it at the weekend as a payday treat when Harrods did 10% off. I love it - its creamy nutty and long lasting - imo better than tf lost cherry and nearly half the price.

Sounds amazing

I tried swimming pool by Bibbi in the scent kit, not a fan. I didn't think it sounded up my street from the scent profile, but god it's a scrubber! Very medicinal smelling, reminds me almost of smelling salts. I'm sure it would bring me round in a boring meeting! Actually it's just dried down a bit now, very sharp opening. Giving me a head ache.

I am finding a few of the scents quite samey, liberty have gone for a lot of citrus and acquatic, herbal, menthol type scents in this kit. I know it's summer but autumn will soon roll round so a few gourmand or spicy types wouldn't have gone amiss.

Luckily there is vinted and ebay to sell the unwanted ones on. I still love the sun rae - and not tried too many of the others although vilhelm basilico I tried from a sample and didn't rate, and escentric molecules molecule 01 is pure super e iso so a bit boring in my view.

Love dear polly. Got a teeny in the liberty drop which is making me want more, and it's fragrance discount day for bd members tomorrow, danger time

@IDontHateRainbows Sorry the scent edit is a little disappointing with its lack of variety. Have you tried the Ex Nihilo yet? That sounds interesting. Luckily you can sell on the ones you don’t like!

M01 + black tea and EA green tea for the gym today. I’ve started wearing my pearls again so have to be a bit careful with where I spray.

paristotokyo · 17/07/2025 04:27

I’ve been boring and it’s every day ea green tea for me. I just love it a lot, it works so well in the tropics. It smells like a spa and lasts ages I’ve found if I spray inside my clothes. I’ve tried some of the flankers but it’s the OG for me. I’m intrigued to try the lime and lychee one though, may need to hunt it down.

I sold the ex nihilo quite easily, need to make some money back towards this. At least not liking a few of my the scents means I can probably sell them on as 'sprayed once' and not be tempted to keep.

I will try the matine avant l'orage one today. Silly me thought it was orange so another citrus, but checking the scent profile it's more vanilla/ spice and up my street.

Must resist liberty 20% off perfume deal! I've already spent an absolute fortune on perfume this year and need to buy a tent for a festival next month.

OP posts:
IDontHateRainbows · 17/07/2025 07:46

Tried the avant l'orage and it's very very similar to Faces of Francis by Vilhelm. Almost dupe territory. I'm a fan of that one so all good. I am getting on better with it than some of the others. Also managed to sell swimming pool which I detested. So 2 so far I like - sun rae and avant l'orange. Swimming pool and Basilico I know i don't. Escentric Molecules I didn't want to try and the sisley eau de campagne I had a sample of elsewhere and wasn't impressed. A very mixed bag - but that's fragrance for you.

I still think the kit is well worth getting for the price, bearing in mind if you don't like aquatic/fresh/citrus there is a limited offering.

OvaHere · 17/07/2025 08:41

I did buy the scent kit in the end but I think I will be selling/passing a few of them on. I'm almost certain I won't like the Bibbi or Vilhelm although it's a while since I smelt the latter so I will give it another chance. If the Matine smells like FoF then I will like that but not sure I need a dupe for a perfume I have.

I hope I do like the Ex Nihilo as that's what I bought it for really. I spent the last of my BD vouchers on a bottle of Angel's Share with today's discount.

I'm staying with my Dad for a week or two as he's ill so won't be able to test the scent kit for while. Something to look forward to I guess.

ThesophisticatedJY · 17/07/2025 09:29

I have just bought the Fragrance Edit from
Liberty . 10% off for Beauty Drop members and another 20% today . Really good value .
Also bought the Scent with love the other day , Bibbi Swinming Pool is like no other perfume I have smelt , don’t like it all .

Very tempted with the fragrance edit but I've spent up my BD vouchers so it's still too much to justify. If I hadn't bought all the other stuff...

Tempted too. The dear polly is calling to me. I reckon I could shift most of the others, I already have vanilla powder.
Then again I want to buy the addy cal which releases next month .
Tough decisons....

Oh god it's like a weird form of gambling.... do I buy the fragrance lounge edit hoping I'll make my money back and can keep the dear polly for free... but I could risk losing £300 if it all goes wrong. The perfume addicts version of being a casino high roller?

My rationale is that the fragrance AC will be out soon and will be a good £100+ less than this edit. Vanilla Powder is in the Liberty AC so I might try and pick up one or two of those on Vinted/Ebay after people start receiving them.

That doesn't help with the Dear Polly but maybe it will also be in an AC or a few people might pick up this edit and sell them on.

I'm quite liking Dear Polly from the BD box but it doesn't seem to last long. Not sure if that's me not spraying enough because it's a teeny sample.

You're the voice of reason. It would just be for the dear polly that I bought it - and that's slightly ridic as I can probably pick that up on vinted or similar myself.

Yes lots of ACs on the way so I'll hold out til then

Cooler here today so SDJ beigi-flor cream with Zara Red Temptation. Other days have been really favouring molecule mandarin with Jo by Jo Loves.

Heartened to see lovely reviews of Green Tea.

Blingismything · 17/07/2025 18:37

Sisley Eau De Campagne have loved this for many years. I worked in a Health Spa when Sisley was being launched in the UK, we were lucky and received many complimentary products during this time. Was fabulous! Have never been without a bottle since.

IDontHateRainbows · 18/07/2025 05:43

Successfully resisted buying the fragrance lounge edit yesterday. Hoping the dear polly will appear on ebay/ vinted soon if I still want it.
Meanwhile to reward myself, sticking with the tea theme I bought an indigo nest on ebay for £15. It won't be like dear polly but I do love tea scents and it's supposed to be figgy.

SOTD is prada infusion de vanille. It's a very strange vanilla - smokey, not sweet. Some bergamot in there. I couldn't decide at first if I like it - it's one of those where you keep spraying it to see whether or not you do! I don't not like it - more intrigued by it. I think it'll grow on me.
I got it from scent addict at fragrance shop - they are usually the more popular designer frags but a few of the more unusual ones - it's a monthly subscription, 8ml for £12 which considering the full bottle price is not bad at all.

Working from home today so will be experimenting - I'm in the office more and more and I think they are used to my many different fragrances now although some new people just started so I don't want to stink-bomb them too quickly.
