Used to love kayali pistachio a couple of years ago early in my perfume 'journey ' but now i find it a bit cloying. I do love nut scents in general though.

I definitely think you will like Mandorlo di Sicilia by Aqua Di Parma then. Think I mentioned it previously. Almond and vanilla. Not to be confused with Mandorino di Sicilia by the same company.

CorneliaStreet · 03/07/2025 13:37

I love that Aqua Di Parma almond scent.

M & S do a dupe of Kayali Yum Gelato called Sweet Pistachio. It’s pretty good and actually lasts longer than the original, which has rubbish longevity on me.

Marrakesh in a Bottle. I've been to Marrakesh. It didn't smell like this.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 03/07/2025 23:28

Oscar de la Renta, Bella blanca

Chasing Scents Tea Service, a dry oolong & jasmine tea fragrance with a slight goji berry sweetness and floral drydown. A realistic dry tea scent. Really lovely and I think it may layer nicely with other fragrances (I have Molinard Osmanthus in mind).

Also trying Rain Tea which I’m not enjoying as much but I’ll give it a bit longer before reporting back.

Jo Malone Beach Blossom. Lovely Mojito with coconut for a hot day. Body moisturiser is Beauty Pie Brazilian Lime Fig Leaves & Tea. In the jar it smells like EA Green Tea, but on the skin I get the lime too.
Now looking for a cool room in the house. Gosh, it’s hot!

I really want to try beach blossom! Sounds divine

I’ve fallen way off these threads. SOTD is Jo by Jo Loves, summery but I don’t love it. I’m away next week and it’s been tough choosing what to take, I’ve settled on a handful of 2ml samples and the FS Electric Rhubarb from the M&S beauty bag

I feel the same way about Jo by Jo loves. I enjoy layering it though with vanilla fragrances. I don’t know what compelled me but I just bought a travel size Lime Basil & Mandarin from Jo Malone which smells extremely similar!

Has anyone tried Byredo Bal D'Afrique Absolu yet?

I am on designer kick this summer with my 3 30ml purchases from Lanzarote. Today it will be Cacharel Ella Ella.

I really want to try the mango perfume in Zara too, may make trip to the shops

QueefofSheena · 04/07/2025 11:43

I’m wearing the original Bal D’Afrique today and it’s worn off really quickly. I wish they would stop with the Absolu and just make them with more staying power

HolidayHattie · 04/07/2025 21:17

Gucci Flora Gorgeous Magnolia, sampled at Boots. The fruit is supposedly dewberry and orange, but for some reason it was giving me pear. I can't explain that. A hint of creamy coconut but it's not dominant, then I can't really pick out the separate mid and base layer notes.

I like it. I tried all the sibling scents (gardenia, jasmine, orchid) on paper and liked this the best so sprayed it on me. Six hours later it has faded away, but it lasted longer than I expected it to.

IDontHateRainbows · 05/07/2025 07:37

Having to take a break as the dermatitis has raised its head again. I have kayali love fest burning cherry and good girl legere on order tho!

Yesterday evenings scent was rare beauty find comfort which I like but it’s a little too musky for me. I decided to layer it with vanilla 28 which worked so well. I remember someone mentioned vanilla 28 was a good layering scent so have been testing it out and it definitely is

paristotokyo · 05/07/2025 08:16

Today is a big spritz of Oaui st Bart’s for beachy summery vibes

I have both of those. Will give it a try. Sounds lovely!

Luna for me today. A dinky little bottle from a scent edit. There’s something in it I’m not that keen on.

This fascinates me. I'm totally in love with Luna this summer but there are other things I don't like, which other people enjoy. For example Cacharel Noa, which people describe as comforting, clean etc. and I just thought it smelled rank on me. Tested it at Duty Free where I imagine the samples get used up quickly, so it wouldn't have been stale.

HolidayHattie · 05/07/2025 18:14

Neroli Portofino today. I'm having a bit of buyer's regret because I don't like it quite as much as when I first tested it. Mind you, it's cooler today and I think it's better in the heat.

paristotokyo · 06/07/2025 13:31

Feeling a little homesick lately so tonight after my shower is ambre vanille body oil and spray. This is totally the wrong climate for it but I needed the comfort and it works ok for night time. Wouldn’t use it in the high heat of the day though.

IDontHateRainbows · 06/07/2025 13:59

Arabians tonka on one hand

Sweet oud-y deep scent

Bois d'ebene on the other
Goes on strong and a little too sharp at first but mellows into a lovely rich woody scent

Lumière Dorée by Miller Harris - a new neroli for me to try! I wish I were better at describing scents. I like it a lot, so far. It has much more interest than the bog standard neroli / bergamot / orange scents, maybe because of the cashmere wood and white musk of the base notes.

It's relatively cool and damp here today but this is giving me a real summery pick-me-up.

Whoooo · 06/07/2025 18:07

Sotd 4160tuesdays sexiest scent
It's very comforting imo

IDontHateRainbows · 06/07/2025 21:30

Sot evening

Kayali love fest burning cherry on one hand. The 'poor (wo)man's tom ford lost cherry'. Not quite as deep as LC, in typical Kayali fashion it's sweet and fun, and doesn't last long but I like it.

Other hand JHAG vanilla vibes. A salty beachy Vanilla. Much prefer it to Replica beach walk

I've been wearing Bibbi Fruit Captain from the latest Liberty Edit today. Bibbi seems to be a bit of a marmite brand. I find they grow on me, my first reaction is often Mmm not sure about that but then they win me over. I felt the same about Ghost of Tom.

Zoetrope1 · 07/07/2025 03:29

SOTD Chasing Scents Private Teahouse - smoky and incensey with black tea and cedar. If you like Eucalyptus 20 I think you may enjoy this too.

Im really enjoying exploring this house - all their fragrances are tea focused!

I have that one not sure whether to sell it or keep it. Could you describe what it's like? I do like some fruity scents eg sunset hour, lost cherry but not sure about this one!

It reminds me a little bit of Kilian Love Don't Be Shy. It's quite candied fruit, hint of strawberry bubblegum. Almost minty quality but not quite. I think people who don't like it may be reminded slightly of mouthwash - it has that sweet but fresh vibe.

It dries down into something a bit more subtle and I get a whiff of violet from time to time (no idea if it has violet notes I haven't looked)

I may not be selling it with this description but it's the best I can come up with. 😁
