For me it's the short sleaved coat. Don't see the point at all, not a body warmer and not a proper coat, you'd have to put leg warmers for arms on with it (if such a thing exists).

cappy gilets have a purpose. They are not a fashion accessory. They keep me warm when I'm halfway up a crag in the peaks but I need my arms unpadded to climb better.

They are not for wearing around town.

Anything cropped and therefore breezy around the midriff.

Anna8888 · 20/05/2008 09:55

This the old lady thread

Hate body warmers too, but didn't want to offend they are de riguer for all the sloanesk, yummy mummy wannabees round my way.
(and sometimes they are worn with a t-shirt underneath so purely just for effect)
Along with an artfully tied silk scarf....

mmj I find thongs work better, sometimes. They are not my underwear of choice though I have to say.

booge · 20/05/2008 09:56

Linen clothes, too crumpled looking.

SheherazadetheGoat · 20/05/2008 09:56

polo necked tank tops as favoured by sharon stone types in the 90's. to reiterate the point made several times, if it is cold enough for roll necked knitwear it is cold enough for sleeves.

booge · 20/05/2008 09:58

A bit dated now but those horrible Alice bands like a comb that make your hair look greasy.

OverMyDeadBody · 20/05/2008 09:58

yes waistcoats.

Hoodies are great though, very warm and comfy.

Cappuccino · 20/05/2008 09:58

oh yes MrsB waistcoats

just the thing to make even the most discreet norks look uncomfortable

SheherazadetheGoat · 20/05/2008 09:59
