Ok, in a complete U turn I have ordered this Hush skirt from vinted. Not quite as nice but same vibe and significantly cheaper. Plus better for the environment 😇

Ah I saw this when looking for the Hush one on Vinted that I linked to upthread, and nearly included it as a much cheaper suggestion!! Enjoy, OP.

Matronic6 · 11/04/2025 15:05

It's more a winter piece and it's coming into summer so I doubt it will be a best seller. Likely will go into sale and you can get it for a better price.

DBD1975 · 11/04/2025 16:43

Go to Tesco and get one in their sale for a tenner, you won't be able to tell the difference.

Picoloangel · 11/04/2025 16:52

It’s free delivery!

AprilBunny · 11/04/2025 18:14

It may be heavy and hot and you’ll only wear it a couple of times in December (I love sequins and the skirt but I am trying to put you off).

ohyesido · 11/04/2025 18:20

There are better skirts. That’s all shiny and jangly. You will wear it once and find it hideously impractical

lifeonmars100 · 11/04/2025 19:35

It's very lovely, have you done a cost per wear calculation? Of course you could wear it to the supermarket to do you weekly shop to ensure you get your money's worth but even then it works out quite pricey. I would say if you love it buy it, once when I was young and reckless I spent my council tax money on a crimson silk top, I saw it and I HAD to have it!

StasisMom · 11/04/2025 19:41

I was going to say - don’t buy the skirt! Then I saw it…. 😍

nomas · 11/04/2025 21:43

It’s a bit 2007. Worn by those trying to be edgy.

CheeseWisely · 12/04/2025 00:23

On the strength of this thread I wore my silver (M&S) sequin midaxi skirt out for drinks tonight, with a plain white cotton T-shirt and white trainers. I felt amazing. Never thought I’d wear sequins outside of December. Buy the skirt OP! (soz, I realise you wanted talking out of it!)

66babe · 12/04/2025 07:01

I think it’s bloody lovely and I hear it calling your name … 😂

Permanentlytiredandgrumpy · 12/04/2025 09:56

OK.
Reasons you shouldn't buy it:

  • those sequins will drop off. One pops and the rest....
  • they will catch on all your knitwear
  • sequiny shiny skirts nice for a one off but the look will tire if you wear it repeatedly
  • doesn't look comfortable
  • you can't wear it to sleep or lounge around

mondaytosunday · 10/04/2025 20:40

Take a hint from how they style it - casual jumper and sandals. It doesn’t have to just be for very best!

And a miserable face, she doesn’t look very happy with the skirt

Daisydoesnt · 12/04/2025 13:46

It sits in a very strange place on the model (low on her hips). It’s also telling that they’ve styled it with hem of the top just resting on the waistband and not tucked it. It’s OK if you’ve got long legs, but a very low waistband can look deeply unflattering both in terms of all long waist and short legs, and making you look wide round the waist. It’s a hard no from me.

StrangerThings1 · 12/04/2025 14:31

IdaGlossop · 10/04/2025 20:38

OK then. Here are 12 lies for you 😃

It's straight and boring.
Everyone has a sequined skirt.
Silver will restrict the colours you can wear it with.
Because it's shiny, it will show up every spare gram of fat.
You'll only be able to wear it at night so it's not value for money.
If some idiot throws up over it in a bar, you won't be able to wash it and it will stink for ever. (This one's true.)
Your mum will hate it.
Your dog will chew it.
If you go to Birmingham, it will attract rats.
It will snag your underwear.
It will shed sequins and everyone will know where you have been.
It will rustle when you walk and annoy your neighbours.

If you go to Birmingham, it will attract rats

Don’t get this one?

Mercurial123 · 10/04/2025 20:29

Do you really call your skirts "her"?

Ahh yes that made me cringe a bit .

I noticed some posters call a handbag "she" ( nope it's a bit of leather sewn up ) 😏

angelinawasrobbed · 12/04/2025 16:28

I e just bought the Jaspre one on the back of this thread. Though I think a 14 might be a bit ambitious …

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/04/2025 16:30

I see all the anti-sequin nay-sayers ,I'm guessing you don't go on cruises?
Formal night is like we've all raided Liberace's Charity Donation bags

growinguptobreakingdown · 12/04/2025 17:01

I have a black version of this and have never found a way to wear it which makes me feel good.I'm 5ft 4 and size 10.I think I'm going to start wearing it casual with a white t shirt, black jumper and high top black converse. When I dress it up I can't get the length to work .So I say don't buy it .It's hard to style.

I can't think of many things worse than a formal night on a cruise tbh

everythingeverything1981 · 12/04/2025 17:38

Think I had something quite similar when I was 16 😂

Fioratourer · 12/04/2025 17:39

I think it’s very cool on a cool tall person. Which I am not. But op if your cool enough I think it could look amazing go for it!

everythingeverything1981 · 12/04/2025 17:39

I had terrible taste

Mamofboys5972 · 12/04/2025 17:44

TheMovieFlopped · 12/04/2025 19:46
