I wouldn't worry about the sequins. I have quite a few things with sequins and it's rare for any to fall off to the point of being noticeable.

With that information, you can guess that I support this purchase!

If you can afford it and you love it then buy it. I spent a similar amount on this beauty and I LOVE her. I’ve worn her twice so far but she takes pride of place in my wardrobe and I hope to wear her many times in the future.

This is GORGEOUS

SapporoBaby · 11/04/2025 04:54

It’s nothing special imo. It’s a sequin skirt like thousands of plastic tat skirts before it.

Bailiwitch · 11/04/2025 05:23

Love it! I was thinking only yesterday how much I enjoyed wearing my sequinned skirt over winter - and if it were not Christmas tree green I’d still be reaching for it. So I’m on the lookout for something much shorter and lighter in a less imposing colour.

But yours would be lovely on summer evenings with, as suggested above, a cropped white t shirt and thong sandals.

Sequinned skirts don’t need a complicated cut. The appeal is in the shimmer as they move. And in their ability to attract disco-obsessed squirrels.

Buy it if you want it and you can afford it. (Why do you refer to a skirt as “her”?)

I have no idea. Slightly regretting it tbh.

I should have enabled voting then gone with the majority. Very mixed feelings.

I’m going away on Saturday for a week so will sit on it until after then as I wouldn’t want to order it and it arrive while I’m away. It’s bloody following me round the internet thought. Just opened Facebook and it was the first post. Bastard.

If you happen to be visiting the EU area it will be considerably cheaper - life is short, buy the skirt.

TimeForATerf · 11/04/2025 06:29

I bought a shiny gold skirt about six or seven years ago, sounds awful but it’s not. It comes out every year, I still love it. Ok I’ve probably only ever worn it about six or seven times, but still….

i can’t buy it as all the 12s have gone, if you’re a very petite size I’d wait for the sales, there’s always size 8s in the sale.

No. Stop it!
I work in a school and that's like those sensory boards and cushions we have .
First time you sit , the sequins will bend and fold
No

You'll look like a burrito in it. You know, how they're served up, wrapped in tinfoil? No one wants to look like a burrito.

Hth!

I agree with this. I think the leather All Saints one linked up thread is more versatile and wearable tbh, although maybe only in autumn/winter.

But I have to agree that sequins often pull you in (like a magpie!!) and then make you regret then, especially given the fact they're just plastic.

What I do have, and don't regret, is a thin knit pencil/tube skirt with a slit up the side that has a glittery shimmer through it - it's very comfy and versatile, and gets a lot of wear. Bear with me and I'll find you a similar one!

wibs77 · 11/04/2025 08:31

Beware that every sticky fingered child will come up to you and try and rub the sequins the wrong way to see if there is a rainbow unicorn hidden underneath! Secretly I love it too.

This is so true.
I have a reversible sequin jumper that my 6 year old loves messing with. I couldn’t wear this skirt around him.

OP, may I try to distract you with this one?
Only 20 quid more and imho a level above for quality and tailoring.

That leather one is beautiful too.

I suspect it will be a funny length on me though.

OK well in that case just get the one you want, see now you're saving money!

I have just added a white t shirt some white sandals to my ASOS basket 🤣

My birthday is coming up and I have lunch with friends booked in a lovely restaurant in Manchester.

Is this outfit giving lunch in Manchester vibes?

Buy it and try it on, you can always return it if you don’t like it. You’re either a sequin person or you’re not - I have huge regret on missing a whistles mini skirt in silver sequins, I stalk eBay and vinted but it hasn’t come up. Don’t have my regrets!

Bailiwitch · 11/04/2025 09:38

I think I was wrong about a white t shirt. In the context of a Manchester restaurant grey would be better and sleeker - whichever shade suits you best. And, if possible dark grey Mary Jane shoes or, even better, black or dark grey brogues. Debating socks …

FriendlyGreenAlien · 11/04/2025 09:46

Have a look on instagram for a “woman called George” who coined the term Sparkle Friday as her excuse to wear all the things that would otherwise only get an airing at Christmas. She looks great in all sorts of things.

Bailiwitch · 11/04/2025 09:47

These are very Manchester, to my mind, and would be great with the skirt:
