The next thread, royal style mavens! The title suggestion was from our last thread. Mary of Teck was never knowingly underdressed or less than bejewelled!

Queen Silvia was in New York yesterday to receive the Global Humanitarian Ellis Island Medal of Honor for her work to support vulnerable children. She took Madeleine with her who looks amazing in a black sequinned gown.

That is a great look on Madeleine.

She probably took Madeleine because Madeleine did some work for the US branch of the Childhood Foundation when she lived in the US -
attended its events and fundraisers etc

That's a lovely suit, if Vicky B gifts me one I'll wear it all the time. I know lots of you hate flounces but I also love the blouse.

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 13/05/2025 14:06

I love a good flounce. I can even get on board with a bow.

Serenster · 13/05/2025 16:03

I love the suit, and the shirt, and the colour. So glad she didn’t pair a sharp suit like that with a scoop-neck white tshirt (which we have definitely seen before!).

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 13/05/2025 16:09

Yes it's all spot on for me too. Haven't seen the shoes yet, mind.

nahthatsnotforme · 13/05/2025 16:10

Lovely suit but trousers too long.

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 13/05/2025 16:12

Yes just had a look and I agree...one inch off was all it needed. But then Victoria wears her trousers too long so I imagine it's part of the look.

Still better than ridiculously oversized, voluminous trousers that are also too long.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 13/05/2025 16:41

I love the cut of the suit but hate thr colour. It reminds me of the mustard Erdem dress she once wore.

smilesy · 13/05/2025 16:41

I love the suit too. I love the colour and I think the ruffle works, although it wouldn’t t on me 😆

Maireas · 13/05/2025 17:00

Nice look for Kate, a lot more modern. I really like the colour and fit.

deeahgwitch · 13/05/2025 17:04

I don’t like either the suit, the colour or the blouse.

themessygarden · 13/05/2025 17:18

Love the suit and blouse, but am a bit on the fence about the colour.

Sidebeforeself · 13/05/2025 17:48

She looks good but the suit is a bit “newborn nappy green” for me.

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 13/05/2025 17:49

Agreed. Looking at more photos it's definitely on the wrong side of the line for me.

CodandChipz · 13/05/2025 18:18

i do think the trousers are too long

Iloveshihtzus · 13/05/2025 18:45

Oh I love that outfit on Kate. I think the longer trousers look great.

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 13/05/2025 18:50

They are so close to perfect for me, but I just think trousers look utterly stupid dragging on the floor. But that's Victoria's thing tbf. And clearly some people love it. Props, as always, to Catherine for going modern/current/trendy/whatever you want to call it.

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 13/05/2025 18:51

Mind you they're not dragging at all in that last photo!! Delicately skimming the floor is much, much better. So I award her full points today.

eggandonion · 13/05/2025 18:54

My husband always seems to have trousers dragging and hems fraying. I hope Kate doesn't let that happen.

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 13/05/2025 18:56

I'd like to have seen the suit in person. It's so close to a great colour, that it could still be just right.

Serenster · 13/05/2025 19:02

The colour looks fabulously real-olives green in those indoor shots.

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 13/05/2025 19:07

Ohhh well then it is absolutely perfect for me!

Oh to have a VB budget. 😄

Sidebeforeself · 13/05/2025 19:09

I also want the frill to be coming out from behind the jacket lapels please
