The next thread, royal style mavens! The title suggestion was from our last thread. Mary of Teck was never knowingly underdressed or less than bejewelled!

I agree the turquoise jewellery was a lovely gift, and a great choice for a formal portrait with the Order of the Elephant sash. I also love bright yellow-gold dress with the blue sash and jewels - Isabella clearly isn’t one for bland fashion choices!

She reminds me of young CPV. It’s a beautiful portrait.

Margarethe must be delighted that having borne two sons she has grand daughters who can enjoy her jewellery collection. I had three sons, but now have two grand daughters who love my jewellery. As do my DILs.

I think the big wide trousers are fashionable, I see a lot of them around. I like the colour of the suit and that she's wearing it with a white shirt, which looks very crisp and fresh.

Yes, the shape of trousers is definitely current. I don’t like the oversized blazer with them though, it’s just too much volume overall - especially given how petite Meghan is.

Princess Charlene in Elie Saab, also favouring wide leg trousers. I thought it was polka dot, but maybe it's a light tweed. I'm not sure about the cut of the jacket, but I like the trousers.

$5,000 for that crumpled suit? The only positive thing I can say is that the white shirt looks good and yes, the suit colour is quite nice. I wonder why everything is white/beige/cream when her best looks have been bright red, yellow, turquoise etc.

I think Char is looking very pretty at the moment, especially how she’s wearing her hair. I agree that the jacket is more successful than the trousers with that outfit.

Meghan’s outfit is an abomination! Those trousers are absurd. Didn’t our old friend @frugalkittyhave a nasty accident tripping up in a pair of those very long trousers? Lethal.

I love a wide-leg suit! Meghan looks great and very modern. Her makeup game is as strong as ever too.

I don't like Meghan's suit because it just seems to swamp her especially with the oversize jacket and the trip-hazard trousers as well. TBH it reminds me of something Don Johnson would have worn on Miami Vice back in the day.

I don’t mind the suit but it needs hemmed so the trousers are just skimming the ground. She looks very happy.

Those candles! They give me the hee-bee geebies 😱. We once tried to put the number of candles for a significant birthday actually on a cake. They were impossible to light without setting something else on fire 😂

I too am a fan of a wide trouser, but I think the extreme length and crumpled appearance is not the way to go. It just looks a mess. And the colour is meh

She needs to buy from the petite range. As do I. To get proportions correct.

Looking at that picture of Margrethe's birthday cake, PoppySeedBagelRedux, the candles are actually set into a circular frame that sits around the cake plate, not on the cake itself. How you know you are wealthy, I guess - you have a bespoke candle-holder made for a significant birthday!
