What pajama bottoms is everyone wearing (comfy, don't shrink in wash, can open the door in them etc)

Trivial issue, I know. But all the comfy pyjama/at home type trousers I have (mostly from Uniqlo) shrink massively in the wash, even when I wash according to instructions. Any recommendations (ideally under £25-30ish) for either semi-presentable PJ bottoms, or just comfy home trousers, that don't look totally naff?

Try the John Lewis website and the sale section.

M&S cotton pyjamas bottoms - i tend to buy the bottoms and then buy t shirt tops for the top half. Either from M&S or amazon, depending on the best offer.

SheGotOffThePlane · 12/03/2025 12:51

White Stuff is lovely. And doesn't shrink in the wash leaving the trousers at half mast.

Rosybud88 · 12/03/2025 12:51

I’m not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for but I’m addicted to Chelsea Peers PJ’s. They wash so well, are really comfy and they look good.

HelenHywater · 12/03/2025 12:54

I never tumble dry pyjama bottoms even if they are meant to be ok. They always shrink

My favourite bottoms are from Gap - they might not do them now as they are winter ones. I like 100% cotton. I also have these ones from Amazon which are also 100% cotton and look and feel good and are really cheap! The green pink plaid ones are nice and so are the purple checked ones.

Omg these are gorgeous. Do they wash well/keep their size?

I've got a couple of their cotton nightshirts. Wash them at 30 degrees. No shrinkage. Lovely material.

Piglet in Bed make amazing quality pyjamas and nightshirts. Not the cheapest but worth it!

Chelsea Peers

I'm guessing you are us based by spelling - I have a really comfy pair from target, old now but didn't shrink.

Houndsahollering · 12/03/2025 13:35

Cyberjammies mostly the stretch/jersey styles. They wash and tumble dry perfectly with zero shrinkage. Absolutely love them.

These are my absolute favourite, I've never slept in anything more comfortable. Whenever I have to wear other pyjamas they always feel restricted in comparison. However, I do find they bobble really quickly, is that just me? I'm going to continue buying them because they are so comfy and do look nice but it's annoying

KitsyWitsy · 12/03/2025 14:39

I wear a lot of fat face ones but I don’t tumble them.

ItGhoul · 12/03/2025 14:55

I have many pairs of pyjamas from Their Nibs. All very good. I don't sleep in pyjamas but I wear them for relaxing in the evenings or when I get out of the shower etc.

During the day I also sometimes wear plain black jersey drawstring trousers from Asos. They're very comfy and are essentially pyjama bottoms in all but name, but you can absolutely get away with putting a pair of trainers on and wearing them to nip to the shops.

indecisivewoman81 · 12/03/2025 14:58

Cyberjammies jersey ones, very soft and wash well

Cynic17 · 12/03/2025 15:00

Unfolded or Cyberjammies.

Miffyisverymiffed · 12/03/2025 15:03

Whatever men's cotton flannelette bottoms the supermarkets have in, usually only in the winter season. Proper pockets, actually long enough, functional drawstrings and don't shrink in the dryer. I've had luck with F&F and George this year. Also don't cost an arm and a leg.

My sister is a pyjama connoisseur, she has something ridiculous like 40 pairs Shock very easy to buy Christmas/birthday presents for her, though!

Her favourites are the ASOS DESIGN range. She is tall and they don’t shrink in the leg when washed.

My favourite ‘fancy’ pyjamas are the Ernie range from Joanie. I usually wear one of DP’s old t-shirts and a pair of scruffy shorts, though Grin

Fatface are the best, imo.

Darkclothes · 12/03/2025 17:00

I just wear tracksuit bottoms! They are likely from George (asda) or M&S.

I like the fact I can put the bins out or go into the back garden without them looking like pyjamas and are also comfy and warm.
