What pajama bottoms is everyone wearing (comfy, don't shrink in wash, can open the door in them etc)

Trivial issue, I know. But all the comfy pyjama/at home type trousers I have (mostly from Uniqlo) shrink massively in the wash, even when I wash according to instructions. Any recommendations (ideally under £25-30ish) for either semi-presentable PJ bottoms, or just comfy home trousers, that don't look totally naff?

Pretty secrets legging sets.. the tops look like over sized long t shirts.. bottoms like leggings.. gorgeous and definitely don't shrink.
I lounge around in them all the time.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 12/03/2025 17:03

M&S super soft

shellyleppard · 12/03/2025 17:04

Yours clothing are my go to.... really comfy and don't shrink 🤩

SnakebitesandSambucas · 12/03/2025 17:24

Bonsoir, boux, their nibs. Primark do some nice ones but you have to hunt.

HappyAsASandboy · 12/03/2025 18:07

For actual pyjamas, Their Nibs - the traditional cotton ones. They wash and wear wonderfully for years, are comfortable, and cool in summer/warm in winter.

elrider · 12/03/2025 18:13

I mostly wear some very comfy leggings from Amazon with pockets (I'm sure they were advertised on a mn email as daywear but I found them not thick enough to go out in but fine as night or loungewear). Then I buy tops separately (a selection of short-sleeve for summer and long sleeve for winter). I find leggings better as they don't roll up my leg in bed when I'm moving around.

Retiredearly61 · 12/03/2025 18:24

Any satin bottoms, when you move in bed they glide with you rather than bunching up. Paired with oversized t shirts in either cupra or modal rich fabric for softness

Ophy83 · 12/03/2025 18:36

I love their nibs. They do amazing nighties too - I have the wisteria frill one which is voluminous and has pockets. DH calls it my Bridgerton nightie 😂

piscofrisco · 12/03/2025 18:42

I got some Their nibs pj's in TK Maxx the other day for a tenner! I love them. However my usual go to for pyjamas is primark. The cotton bottoms are excellent. See also Tesco.

onestepfurtheragain · 12/03/2025 18:47

Ours are all uniqlo - have never had any issue with shrinkage. I do all my washing at 30°.

okydokethen · 12/03/2025 18:53

I like the panda ones too.

I have strict pj requirements though which is annoying

Cuffed ankles
Pockets
Long sleeves
No buttons
Only black
Not satin or silky

weaselwords · 12/03/2025 19:01

I’ve got the peacock pattern Their Nibs pjs and they are glorious

I just wear tracksuit bottoms! They are likely from George (asda) or M&S.

I like the fact I can put the bins out or go into the back garden without them looking like pyjamas and are also comfy and warm.

Me too - I have long legs and prefer cuffed bottoms, I don't like it when pj trousers end up all twisted and up by your knees. These tracksuit bottoms are cosy and long enough. Very generously sized, I would say M is 12-16.

Plus I have some really soft Puma ones from Vinted.

And on top I wear t shirts, I have loads from work which are really good quality, thick cotton.

Not the most glamorous of nightwear but comfy and suitable for answering the door / putting the bins out.

Cyberjammies.
Joules.
Ted Baker (from Next).

I have these:

Primark - so obviously a bargain, but super soft, no ironing required and I think really pretty. Washed them 4-5 times so far and they look and feel exactly the same as the day I bought them. Can't speak for extended longevity yet as only bought them a few weeks ago, but so far so good!

TheTecknician · 12/03/2025 19:13

How times change. When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s it was virtually unheard of for women and girls to wear pyjamas. It was nighties/nightdresses/nightgowns and nothing else!

TurquoiseDress · 12/03/2025 19:16

Am def going to check out Their Nibs!

I have several pairs of PJs and go straight into a pair once I'm home from work!

Melancholyflower · 12/03/2025 19:32

I bought a pair of Their Nibs (usually wear Cyberjammies) and found the cotton wasn't very soft and felt a bit thick/stiff, so was put off trying them again. Are they all like that, or are some softer?

ThatOchreDuck · 12/03/2025 20:07

I likw White stuff ones personally, anything light and decent quality :)

Gymbunny2025 · 12/03/2025 20:16

I buy from M&S. pure cotton ones. Wear with a vest and jumper or dressing gown. These sort of styles. Love being comfy in PJ at home. Never had any shrink!

Whycantibetangy · 12/03/2025 20:46

Men’s jammies. Better fabric, bigger in the bum, looser on the legs, with a proper drawstring waist and POCKETS!

Just superior all round

Vitrolinsanity · 12/03/2025 20:52

White company. I could go to the pub in them and feel overdressed 🤣

Nat6999 · 12/03/2025 21:38

I prefer leggings style bottoms, looser ones ride up & get uncomfortable if you wear them in bed.

Ha ha so true. I never actually wear pj in bed 😂
