What pajama bottoms is everyone wearing (comfy, don't shrink in wash, can open the door in them etc)

Trivial issue, I know. But all the comfy pyjama/at home type trousers I have (mostly from Uniqlo) shrink massively in the wash, even when I wash according to instructions. Any recommendations (ideally under £25-30ish) for either semi-presentable PJ bottoms, or just comfy home trousers, that don't look totally naff?

Most of mine are from M&S, apart from a few. Love em…

The ONLY pyjamas I want to wear any more are Seasalt View Point PJs - they're cotton lawn fabric, cut quite generously (nothing worse than nightwear riding up your crack in bed) and don't shrink. They dry really fast (I don't have a tumble drier) because the fabric's so thin. The main reason I love them is that they're warm enough to keep me warm when I go to bed cold (as always) and help with my perimenopausal sweaty nights, so I rarely wake up at 4am soaked in them. I now have 5 pairs and don't wear anything else!

These ones (not any of these colour ways, but most years they have some really nice designs):

Omg these are gorgeous. Do they wash well/keep their size?

I loved mine but they have shrunk. Both sets of Their Nibs now have a space for my belly like a peri menopausal Winnie the Poo!

I like the panda ones too.

I have strict pj requirements though which is annoying

Cuffed ankles
Pockets
Long sleeves
No buttons
Only black
Not satin or silky

You are my pj spirit animal! Where do you find yours? I need some of these.

another vote for these. So comfy

Can you sleep in them though?

playbadlycast · 14/03/2025 23:27

Never managed to find a pair without the excruciating seams on the inside at the crotch. Do they exist?

youlied · 14/03/2025 23:30

Cyberjammies or Chelsea Peers. Amazing quality and wash so well

I am loving pyjama bottoms from Sainsbury’s at the moment
really comfortable, good sizing and wash well.
I will answer the door in pretty much anything to be honest
but they are lovely

M&S cotton pyjamas bottoms - i tend to buy the bottoms and then buy t shirt tops for the top half. Either from M&S or amazon, depending on the best offer.

I second this, I bought some pyjamas in the M&S sale for £6 a pair! Really comfy and proper length, loose fitting and not clingy 😊.

offmynut · 15/03/2025 07:08

How times change. When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s it was virtually unheard of for women and girls to wear pyjamas. It was nighties/nightdresses/nightgowns and nothing else!

I preferred pyjamas in the 80’s.

richardosmanstrousers · 15/03/2025 07:52

I wear Tesco or Asda these days. I’m a shortie so need a cuffed or cropped leg to prevent tripping! I think both stores do 2 for £14 ish - I only buy bottoms and wear t shirts with them. Tumble dry every time with no shrinkage.

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 15/03/2025 08:15

Also Their nibs but yabu unreasonable opening the door in them.....
