Oh thanks so much @IlovePond , going to take a close look at these now. Thanks for remembering!

Snowyowl78 · 18/04/2025 16:12

@ScottishMouse i have a steamer but its not great. My previous one was a cheap Homeeasy one from Amazon and it was much better. Pros for me is that it doesn’t make white streaks in dark clothes like an iron (I may be a bad ironer!) also it’s portable and takes up less space and cons are that it’s really hard to do then hems of cotton/linen shirts if they are a bit twisted, and you have to hang things somewhere suitable which isn’t always easy.

ScottishMouse · 18/04/2025 16:20

Thanks all for the steamer thoughts. I’m putting it on the back burner for now. I don’t think it is going to make my life better 🤣🤣

mizu · 18/04/2025 17:42

@IlovePondooh I want to go back!!

shrinkingthiswinter · 18/04/2025 18:20

@Bimblesalong will get on and order from a shop! It’s such a nice and versatile skirt. Good luck with the weight loss!

Bimblesalong · 18/04/2025 18:45

Thanks @shrinkingthiswinter ! I need to get back into my favourite clothes which feel a little stretched, as well as boosting my health (chemo has left me still within my bmi but it’s higher and I’m stouter!). More fitted Toast dresses from a couple of years ago are a good incentive to work on things.

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with the different size.

IlovePond · 18/04/2025 22:06

You are most welcome @ScottishMouse

@mizu - today they had kept two rails of sample clothes left over from the sale on the shop floor. Some of it was further reduced from last week - e.g. the gold coat was down to £100.

I hope this marks a return to the outlet having a few sample items for sale on a permanent basis, but I suspect it’s a one off to clear last week’s stock.

We have just got back after a ten hour drive from Cornwall via KC - the stretch to Somerset was achingly slow and the driving conditions were horrendous in driving rain.

I only went back to KC to pick up the outlet blanket I missed out on last weekend. It’s lovely and I am about to collapse on the sofa wrapped in it!

Just popping on to say that the short sleeved chambray shirt is exactly the same as last year’s version. There is something odd about the cut. It could be a great basic, but it doesn’t hang well and looks awful on me so is going back.

Thank you…I have been looking at and sorely tempted but I am in NZ and delivery costs are horrendous! .. will now happily defer.
it looks gorgeous on the model.

hattymattie · 20/04/2025 20:57

Lovely Toast ladies - you helped me once before - now I’m wondering about the Japanese denim coat - has anybody got it?

faustina · 20/04/2025 21:10

I have it @hattymattie and I love it!

IlovePond · 20/04/2025 22:17

I wore my new Flower Mountain trainers today and they were very comfy - I am pleased I got them!

faustina · 21/04/2025 05:48

@IlovePond - I was wondering about those again the other day . I don't suppose you have wide feet? I've seen some reviews about the toe box being quite narrow

hattymattie · 21/04/2025 07:36

Faustina - I am between a size 10 and 12 - does it size big - I feel it will swamp me. Would you play a photo of yourself wearing it?

hattymattie · 21/04/2025 07:36

Post a photo that should say

mizu · 21/04/2025 10:45

@IlovePond and did you take your usual size? There’s a pair on Vinted size 7. I can be a 7 but depends on the shoe……

faustina · 21/04/2025 12:30

@hattymattie I will try to do a photo but it's a bit busy here. I actually have it in a large and it's surprisingly not large and doesn't swamp me at all. I'm an 8 and 5'4. I do like my coats to be oversized but there is a line between nicely oversized and swamping, and in my opinion the denim coat doesn't cross that line. I have had compliments when wearing too!

hattymattie · 21/04/2025 13:58

Thanks Faustina - maybe I should go for medium then. Can’t believe you’re rocking a large and you’re size 8😃

faustina · 21/04/2025 14:23

It was a Vinted gamble which paid off @hattymattie !

IlovePond · 21/04/2025 15:49

Hi @ScottishMouse - my feet are maybe very slightly narrower than average width. (Zara shoes fit me very well, if that’s any use to you as a guide.)

The pair I tried on in the Bath store the day before the sample sale were too wide for me, (they looked a bit unflattering, tbh). Weirdly, however, they were also catching on my right little toe, (which has never been quite the same since I broke it - for the fourth time 🙈)

By contrast, the sample pair fitted perfectly - not wide and with no impact on my sensitive little tootsie at all. They are very flattering on my feet - even DH said so, and he dislikes 99% of Toast purchases on general principles.

Whether this is because the shoes tend to have some width/toe box discrepancy between pairs, or because mine are samples, I couldn’t say.

Both pairs were the blue/grey blue colour way that I couldn’t see on the website the other day when I looked, but are in store.

@mizu - both pairs were what I would describe as tts lengthwise- the discrepancies were in the width across the foot and space in the toe box.

Next time I wear them, I will take a pic of them in action, so to speak!

@mizu I think this was meant for you.

IlovePond · 21/04/2025 17:15

Ah sorry @ScottishMouse - it was for @faustina and @mizu

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 21/04/2025 17:17

No worries @IlovePond. I can add that I have quite wide feet but when I tried the Flower Mountain trainers I found they could accommodate my feet well. I like how they look on others but just not on me.

mizu · 21/04/2025 18:46

Ah thanks both, bit of a risk to buy on Vinted I think. I have wide-ish feet and depending on the brand, can be a 6, 6.5 or 7!

ScottishMouse · 21/04/2025 18:53

@mizu I am between a 5, 5.5, and 6 depending on brand/type of shoe, and I found the 5 plenty big, so the 7 might be too big for you.

faustina · 21/04/2025 19:38

Thank you @IlovePond and @ScottishMouse . I think you and I are looking at the same pair @mizu and It sounds like too much of a gamble for me size-wise. I wish brands would have consistent sizing!
