What is your one transformative WOW beauty product that you found in 2024?

For me it was a product I didn’t want to like as it’s very pricey and I had thought over the years it was just a gimmick. Plus I had a really good skincare routine before I started using them (essence, HA serum, vit C, peptide cream, SPF, tretinoin, acid actives etc) and I didn’t really see that I could get much more positive effect than with what I was already using.
But wow, these little capsules (god they’re fiddly and annoying) of Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide oil/serum have massively improved my skin just adding it in as an additional layer after my other serums and before my peptide cream. My crepey under eye skin has completely smoothed out and fine lines on my forehead have gone. My skin tone looks more even and skin looks plumper definitely. I’m also less oily throughout the day. I’m gobsmacked given that it’s such a small amount in the capsule.
Only downside is now I have to find the money to include them in my routine ongoing!

What have you found recently that has been an absolute game changer?

Go for it! I like it, it is nice and light and gives nice big bouncy curls. I used a 5 p size for around my scalp and another for the rest.

The other one I use sometimes is Tigi Curls Rock Amplifier, I get proper ringlets with that but it is much heavier and gives a bit of a wet look which I don't like as much.

Iamblossom · 29/01/2025 14:58

In case it also helps I dry my hair through my fingers whilst scrunching a handful at a time. Means the hair is curled as the hot air dries it if that makes sense. No hairdresser can ever dry my hair curly like I can..

Well after reading this I also sheepled along to All Beauty and bought the EA capsules, 30 for £23. Will report back!

Frostine · 29/01/2025 22:17

My EA capsules ( the ceramide whole face ones ) are making my under eye area sore and I woke up this morning with redness under them.
Giving it a miss today . 🤔

Blinkinintothesun · 29/01/2025 22:30

Can I ask what collagen supp you're taking?

WhereAreWeNow · 30/01/2025 06:11

I too bought the EA capsules. They're not quite what I was expecting. They've got a lot of silicone in them so it feels like smearing a primer on my face rather than an oil. I can't tell yet if it's making any difference. I'll persevere.

Summerdew · 30/01/2025 08:44

I’ve had a bit of a reaction to the EA capsules too, I’ve broken out which is rare, however my skin is so soft, and so I’m going to give them a couple of months and see where it gets to. I love the texture of them so it might be that I need to switch to a plainer moisturiser with them. I bought 90 and got the free gift which has 14 in so loathe to stop and not give them a fair go!

LoveLabradors · 30/01/2025 09:01

My skin has had a sudden redness and spot outbreak. Since the weekend I’ve been trying Inkey List Bio active ceramide cream ans my night cream and it’s soothed and plumped my skin so much and it feels so much better. Delighted with it and it’s currently on offer on Amazon at a very good price. I’m so pleased with it that I’ve ordered the new ectoin barrier serum too (gets great reviews) as I think using actives like tret this time of year and being someone who is outdoors quite a lot that I need more soothing products.
I don’t think the EA capsules would’ve been for me if they are lots of silicone so I’m glad I missed out. Hope they work for everyone who has purchased.

Peridot1 · 30/01/2025 09:40

For those of you experiencing reactions to the EA capsules maybe stop using them for a week or so and see how your skin is and then re-introduce gradually. Maybe start with every third day and see how your skin reacts. (disclaimer - I don’t use them although have in the past). It’s always best to introduce new products slowly.

I bought them too. You get a lot of oil! I'm doing what someone else did and only using half in morning and half at night otherwise it takes ages to soak in. I do think my skin is smoother already!

I used some I got from a beauty box, and at first I liked them but then had the same problem. My eyes felt worryingly sore and itchy. Think it might be the silicone.

Groove pillow. Probably not strictly ‘beauty’ but helped my neck a headaches so much

Shark hot brush has been amazing for me despite having low expectations. Got it on QVC as a Todays Special Value and it sat in my wardrobe for weeks as I couldn't be arsed to read the instructions Blush

I have wavy / curly fine hair and often leave it to dry naturally. But it does look loads better when I take the time to do a proper blow dry then straighten afterwards. Having tendonitis means that I was really struggling to hold hairdryer and brush and was getting cramps in my hands (using a v lightweight travel GHD dryer).

Tried the hotbrush and in less than 15 minutes (shoulder length hair) it looked like I'd done a proper bouncy blow dry but with far less effort. I was meeting a friend that day and she commented how nice my hair looked without me mentioning that I'd done anything different. You can also use it on dry hair between washes which is brilliant for me as I have dry scalp and hair so usually only wash it twice a week.

I feel almost evangelical about how good this has been for me, my hair feels lovely and soft as well as looking nice.

CaptainAwkward · 31/01/2025 14:26

Thanks to the poster who said the EA capsules were cheap on All Beauty

I got 90 for £46.95!

After some research I’ve found that I can use half in the morning by pricking the top with a pin then sealing it with said pin until the evening

I did have a problem with my All Beauty order though as a bottle of L’Oreal men’s niacinamide turned up on the box instead

I spoke to someone and they sent out a replacement of the correct order and told me to dispose of keep the wrong item

I’m pretty impressed with the EA capsules so far, apply after water based serums/retinol then put moisturiser on top. My makeup seems to go on really well too afterwards

CaptainAwkward · 31/01/2025 14:28

Also, using one capsule a day means that I’ve got virtually 6 months supply for less than £40

Cantthinkofausername2022 · 31/01/2025 15:38

Don’t know why people are commenting on silicone re: EA ceramide capsules there isn’t any in it?
I can’t use anything skincare wise on my eyes no matter what creams/ oils I put on even vit e causes irritation- Vaseline all the way as an eye make up remover for those with sensitive eyes

They have dimethicone in which is a type of silicone.

thx for clarifying that

I also ordered the EA capsules based on this thread and have used one the past 2 nights. Not noticed any effects yet but I'm not sure I like the powdery feel of them. It feels like the product sits on top of the skin rather than absorbs into it.

partridgeinasweartree · 31/01/2025 18:24

Arrrgh. I've bought the EA capsules AND I'm now adding collagen to my coffee!!!!

That's the silicone! It feels like a silicone primer. Not what I was expecting at all.

Firealarm1414 · 31/01/2025 20:36

Yes, it feels like the smash box primer that also didnt live up the hype for me. Didn't realise that was because of silicone
