For me it was a product I didn’t want to like as it’s very pricey and I had thought over the years it was just a gimmick. Plus I had a really good skincare routine before I started using them (essence, HA serum, vit C, peptide cream, SPF, tretinoin, acid actives etc) and I didn’t really see that I could get much more positive effect than with what I was already using.
But wow, these little capsules (god they’re fiddly and annoying) of Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide oil/serum have massively improved my skin just adding it in as an additional layer after my other serums and before my peptide cream. My crepey under eye skin has completely smoothed out and fine lines on my forehead have gone. My skin tone looks more even and skin looks plumper definitely. I’m also less oily throughout the day. I’m gobsmacked given that it’s such a small amount in the capsule.
Only downside is now I have to find the money to include them in my routine ongoing!

What have you found recently that has been an absolute game changer?

My amazing 2024 product for my lips is...lanolin! It works beautifully on lip weinkles and stay put. Even with extremely cold weather, my lips are soft and noirished. I bought a tub on Amazon for £14 and it's amazing!

SavageGarden23 · 22/01/2025 16:11

Oh OP i tried those capsules and they were amazing for the 7 days sample trial ! For me I loved haruharu black rice cleansing oil, and currently using ordinary eyelash serum which did help to fill out a distinct gap. Ordinary glycolic acid toner was also a great find that I am using sparingly as too much can be harsh. And la roche posay b5 balm is another great find

Windle Lab curl cream. It kept popping up on my social media and because I am a known sucker for a curl cream, but also one with a cupboard full of 8/10 candidates, I resisted for a while, but then gave in. It's great. Lovely smooth thick curls that last several days. I also bought some shampoo/conditioner which has given my thinning menopausal hair a new bounce.

I stay in the shallow end when it comes to skincare, though. I fear I'd easily be dragged out into the bankrupting deeps...

Great analogy about the expense of it all!

@podthedog
gosh just had a flashback - I used to have her DVD. But I remember I found her voice really annoying so it put me off doing it. May have to dig it out if you’re finding good results with it though.

I still haven’t found my curl cream so this has piqued my interest. I had a look on the website, do you have any idea what the difference is between the ‘curl enhancer’ and the ‘curl enhancer cream’?

I've discovered Living Proof Restore shampoo and conditioner. I've used other Living Proof in the past and been underwhelmed, but this duo absolutely loves my dry, frizzy hair. It smells lush and feels so natural and high quality.

Arghhh, was trying to do No Spend for January, but I’ve just caved and bought the capsules - tub of 96 @JMAngel1 These better be good! 😀🙏

Also considering that Kerastase stuff aswell @LessIceCreamOnThatToffeeSauce Does it def work? Trying to convince myself it’s a necessity 😬

Lots but I didn't use a lot before 2024. However I'd probably say Danielle Collins face yoga for my forehead. It's really subtle but long lasting.

What is face yoga?

mrschocolatte · 22/01/2025 20:16

Saie Glowy Super Gel. Love this so much and makes my face glow. Close runner up is Lisa Eldridge skin tint. These products make putting my face on a joy!

I've got awful skin (PCOS) which somehow got even worse after giving birth earlier this year. My whole face was covered and it was so so painful. I saw an instagram ad for something called 'Skin47' serum and it's been amazing! Again it's not cheap (seems to be a recurring theme here!) but it's really worked wonders for me.

3luckystars · 22/01/2025 20:39

Glowwa hair supplements - Amazing

(and also I got my eyebrows microbladed and they are great) sorry that’s 2!

I second the Chanel liquid lipsticks. Good staying power, feel comfy and when they wear off do so naturally. Love them

A collagen supplement

I run and was taking it to help recovery but my hair is lush and shiny and my nails have never been so strong.

How long did it take you to see a difference? With hair being dead presumably you have to wait a while for it to grow and then you’d be able to see a difference in the bit nearest the root. Or are you saying it makes it fall out less?

I bought it to try in a black friday sale, so I've been taking it regularly since mid Nov.

It's only recently twigged with me that I keep catching glances of my hair in the mirror and thinking ooooh that looks really shiny and healthy ✨️ and admiring myself 😳

I do have thick hair anyway, so I'm not sure i would notice if it promotes growth as such, but it definitely seems stronger - much less comes out in the shower.

Runingoncaffeine · 23/01/2025 07:44

Davines Oi All in One Hair milk - been a game changer for my hair. Won’t be without it. Smooth, silky and frizz free!

AlwaysLookOnTheSnarkSide · 23/01/2025 07:52

The Drunk Elephant resurfacing serum has made a big difference to my skin. Feels smoother and looks brighter.

I'm very interested in those capsules too! I've been using the advanced night repair serum for a year now & find it wonderful.

Around Christmas i needed to replace it & my foundation & this enabled me to buy the special offer of the huge set of EA goodies in the red velevt beauty case. It had the supreme moisturiser & the advanced eye cream included & I've been loving them.

I might trial the capsules next. My skin is in fantastic condition after a lifetime of acne & v difficult to deal with. I'm in my 50s now!

My other two discoveries are at the other end of the cost spectrum.

ELF tubing mascara has TOTALLY transformed my life! I have dry eyes & blink a lot & heavily & I've tried every mascara on the market to avoid panda eyes without success till I found this.

I'm using it about a year now & I still can't believe when I check my makeup that I don't have black rings. I was forever rubbing & scrubbing under my eyes. Tubing mascara is revolutionary for me.

And finally....most people probably already know this but I didn't! I used to trim my nails with a clippers & they were forever splitting & breaking despite being short.

Then i got gel nails for a few months followed by biab. I believed the hype that it was 'helping' my own nails. What it was doing was destroying my nails

Once it was removed my poor nails were in a bad condition. So I started using an emery board . It's a thick one with different surfaces to buff your nails etc. I also bought an Essie cubical oil & my nails are varnish free & in fabulous nick. They're SO much healthier & stronger & i haven't had a split or broken nail in months now. I.dont miss the varnish & now im reluctant to put it on which i never expected as I always wore a v pale pink like ballet slippers etc
