For me it was a product I didn’t want to like as it’s very pricey and I had thought over the years it was just a gimmick. Plus I had a really good skincare routine before I started using them (essence, HA serum, vit C, peptide cream, SPF, tretinoin, acid actives etc) and I didn’t really see that I could get much more positive effect than with what I was already using.
But wow, these little capsules (god they’re fiddly and annoying) of Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide oil/serum have massively improved my skin just adding it in as an additional layer after my other serums and before my peptide cream. My crepey under eye skin has completely smoothed out and fine lines on my forehead have gone. My skin tone looks more even and skin looks plumper definitely. I’m also less oily throughout the day. I’m gobsmacked given that it’s such a small amount in the capsule.
Only downside is now I have to find the money to include them in my routine ongoing!

What have you found recently that has been an absolute game changer?

@its always fools - I do wonder about that, but I don't understand what advantage they would get, its anon so how can any sales be linked to them so they get commission? Apologies if I am missing the obvious, genuinely curious?

I need to share my elizabeth arden ceramide capsule bargain. After reading this thread and looking at some reviews I decided I'd like to try the eye serum ceramide capsules. Reduced to £48 on the EA site, £46.50 on look fantastic but then found them massively reduced at £23.50 on a website for a shop called tj hughes. Didn't want to pay £4.99 postage, realised there's a shop not too far from me and headed up this morning. The shop assistant found the last 2 boxes for me stuck in a drawer behind the counter and when she scanned them they came up as £9 each!! Very happy.

For a short while when I just wanted money for traveling I used to work at the Elizabeth Arden factory. I was used to working hard. It was absolutely horrible. They treated staff like dirt, the environment was so bad and unsafe and people got constantly yelled at.

I remember one young man who was so stressed at the perfume station, and he got perfume in his eyes. And got yelled at. Mountains of discarded products all around, which they chucked so I do wonder how cheap the products were to make compared to the price in the store.

Hardly any breaks. I swore then to go back home and study because I never wanted to work in a place like that. And to never buy a single EA product again. I do know they are not the only ones and it’s impossible to know, but fuck no do I want to support it.

The ordinary peptide eye serum, works wonders on puffy bags under the eyes.

Sorry for being a downer! 😩😂

A collagen supplement

I run and was taking it to help recovery but my hair is lush and shiny and my nails have never been so strong.

Ooh please can you share which one you use? Also a runner and this sounds great!

Same here, my fine, menopausal hair looks and feels thicker and my nails are so strong, I'm finding I'm actually having to cut and file them down whereas before the collagen they would split and break before getting to a decent length. I'm well impressed!

All factories are brutal. I did work experience at Viyella. I was 15 and they left me on the conveyer belt stacking cloth for 3 hours in a heatwave. I had sweat streaming down the front of my top. I cried my entire lunch break.

For me, it's The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid serum & Peptide moisturiser.
I've never been able to use any products on my face at night as they all caused my eyes to react badly (itch uncontrollably & swell up). However, both of these I can use. Plus, they've really improved the look and feel of my skin.
I've just started using The Inkey List Beta Hydroxy Acid, Collagen Peptide serum & Bio-active ceremide moisturiser. It's early days but I really like all the products (especially as there's no fragrance/colour etc).

I use the HA Serum too. Didn't think it did much at first but after about a month my skin is very smooth and hydrated.

Yeah they probably are. Can’t even imagine the people having to work for places like Shein and Temu. But, it’s a different subject. I’ve tried the capsules and like them too. But every time I see the brand I feel bad.

MyPinkSheep · 26/01/2025 20:33

The Inkey List glycolic acid body exfoliating stick - I’ve tried years to find something to get rid of the kp bumps on my upper arms and this genuinely works. It’s multi purpose too - works well on dry heels and knees/elbows. Also reasonably priced!

Living Proof triple bond complex. It has sorted out my dry and weak hair, it is way more lustrous and healthy

Hi, love this thread and I would buy everything mentioned if I could...had the Liberty advent calendar for two years running (bliss), anyway I use this cosmetics/beauty website a lot and noticed this:
https://www.justmylook.com/products/elizabeth-arden-advanced-ceramide-capsules-daily-youth-restoring-serum-90-capsulesElizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum 90 Capsules
£44.99
RRP £96.00(53% off)
Promise I'm just a regular MN but have seen the eye ones on TJHuges as PP said for £23.50 (£4.99 p&p) for 60 capsules!...now there's a temptation 😉

Musntapplecrumble · 27/01/2025 13:03

I've just bought the eye ones from TJH, used a voucher code of MVC06 (only 6% off but towards the postage) = £27.08 😁will report back if my bags are lifted...

dolorsit · 28/01/2025 09:53

@Musntapplecrumble Thanks for the link.

It 404'd for me but was then able to find it on the website. And they also had a hairstyler I've been considering at 50% off so got that too.

So basically got the capsules and the hairstyler for less than the normal retail price of 90 capsules.

Only been using my boots freebies for a few days but my skin feels great and it's first serum I've used that doesn't leave my skin feeling "tacky" afterwards. I hate being able to feel a layer of product on my skin rather than just smooth skin.

BelgianBeers · 28/01/2025 20:56

I have greeeeasy skin - blot blot blot but my t zone is still teenage (even on decent skin care). I read good reviews of Danessa Myricks beauty blurring balm for the oily skin types but it was £ and I am a bit mean so never tried it. One frivolous day I saw a mini version with a blusher and bought it. Well I can’t say it blurs but I put it on, then put the MILK primer for greasy skin on top which seriously removes the look of my big oily pores. The tiniest bit of light foundation on top (the skin tint Ester Lauder one) and what felt quiet a bit greasy when it went on magically dries down to the best looking skin I can get and the really magic bit is that I don’t grease up. Oh and the blusher is lovely and I will buy both again super happily. I can’t really be arsed with make up but it’s part of my work look so I love that I do it once in the morning and I come home a busy day later looking identical. Result.

HillyHoney · 29/01/2025 08:44

@ShowAndGo, what's the Windle cream like? Is it moisturising, heavy, sticky etc? I have frustrating wavy hair with a lot of ringlets underneath - as I've got older (and it's got greyer...), mousse and a cast doesn't seem to work anymore - Only Curls creme has been ok for me for a while but seems to have stopped working...

MurdoMunro · 29/01/2025 08:52

Yes. I want ALL THE DETAILS on the windle creams too! A spreadsheet with links to background data would be ideal but I’ll settle for a key points summary 😆

ShowAndGo · 29/01/2025 10:40

OK, with the huge caveat that all curly hair is different and what works for me might not work for you, etc...

I have fine, thinning, perimeno, colour-treated 3a/b collar-length curls. Windle Curl Enhancer is a light-ish cream in a toothpaste-style tube which gives me really smooth, shiny ringlety curls, with minimal frizz, that last at least three days. It smells delicious. I sometimes put some Thickening Cream in at the roots which helps with volume too, but it does make my hair feel a bit heavier on days 2/3. What's also been transformational for me in 2024 is a Bounce Curl styling brush, with the ridges on the edges to help form curl clumps. Some people can get great clumpy curls with a Denman brush, but this makes it foolproof. For this fool, anyway. Learning how to lean into the curls (there's a bit of a knack but once you've watched a few IG reels...), and getting it cut a bit shorter has made my hair look twice as thick, and much healthier.

MurdoMunro · 29/01/2025 11:03

Brilliant report @ShowAndGo if you need a name for your 360 review this year put me on your list! Thank you, much appreciated.

HillyHoney · 29/01/2025 11:27

The k you @ShowAndGo, that's really helpful!

There's many a time I've thought about starting a Google doc with all my thoughts on the 276,000 curl products I've tried ove the years but my brain is like a sieve nowadays and all I can remember is that none of thnm can have been that grade, otherwise I'd still be using them 😁

ShowAndGo · 29/01/2025 12:16

Aw, shucks, thanks. I promise I'm not on the Windle pay roll! For comparison, other curl creams that have worked best for me are Aveda Be Curly (original, haven't tried the new formulation), and It's a 10 Miracle Coily Cream. Most others I find too much, because they're designed for coarser, thicker, textured hair, not weedy fine ringlets.

Honestly don't know what the difference is between the two different Windle packages - their customer service is very good, though, so I'm sure they'd be happy to elucidate.

If anyone's tried the Dyson hair care line, I'd love to know what it's like as I can't afford a second mortgage right now.
