What is your one transformative WOW beauty product that you found in 2024?

For me it was a product I didn’t want to like as it’s very pricey and I had thought over the years it was just a gimmick. Plus I had a really good skincare routine before I started using them (essence, HA serum, vit C, peptide cream, SPF, tretinoin, acid actives etc) and I didn’t really see that I could get much more positive effect than with what I was already using.
But wow, these little capsules (god they’re fiddly and annoying) of Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide oil/serum have massively improved my skin just adding it in as an additional layer after my other serums and before my peptide cream. My crepey under eye skin has completely smoothed out and fine lines on my forehead have gone. My skin tone looks more even and skin looks plumper definitely. I’m also less oily throughout the day. I’m gobsmacked given that it’s such a small amount in the capsule.
Only downside is now I have to find the money to include them in my routine ongoing!

What have you found recently that has been an absolute game changer?

A collagen supplement

I run and was taking it to help recovery but my hair is lush and shiny and my nails have never been so strong.

Ooh I’m wondering if you wouldn’t mind sharing which one please?

Woodworm2020 · 25/01/2025 15:40

@TiramisuThief sorry I just saw the above! Thanks so much! 💐

Widelegstylewoes · 25/01/2025 15:42

Dr Jart Cicapair colour correcting cream. It’s like tinted moisturiser/light-coverage foundation, and it’s incredible.

Sunholidays · 25/01/2025 15:53

Thanks for the Hildun eye pencil recommendation. They look great.

Has anyone found a wow product for textured skin? I have this area around my chin that is a mix of enlarged pores and tiny wrinkles (eugh). I'm considering lactic acid by The Ordinary.

Have tried Dermatica tretinoin but it's too much commitment and have me shiny skin. I didn't see a lot of improvement either.

Lisa Eldridge lurex eyeshadow.

Oo me too it's lovely. I've never worn eyeshadow before

RitaFromTheRanch · 25/01/2025 17:00

I didn't see any difference at all after using the EA capsules for a couple of months and I agree that they're pretty oily.

I do swear by botox and a tiny bit of lip filler though, bloody miraculous

Shufflebumnessie · 25/01/2025 17:32

For me, it's The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid serum & Peptide moisturiser.
I've never been able to use any products on my face at night as they all caused my eyes to react badly (itch uncontrollably & swell up). However, both of these I can use. Plus, they've really improved the look and feel of my skin.
I've just started using The Inkey List Beta Hydroxy Acid, Collagen Peptide serum & Bio-active ceremide moisturiser. It's early days but I really like all the products (especially as there's no fragrance/colour etc).

Shufflebumnessie · 25/01/2025 17:36

@Sunholidays have a look at The Inkey List range (I've just been raving about them above 😅). They have lots of very gentle products designed to tackle all types of skin problems.
I've just started using their Beta Hydroxy Acid to try and tackle the annoying under-the-skin bumps I have on my forehead.

@Cheesypumpkin @Rattai @Peridot1 my EA capsules arrived today too, but no 25% off OR gift 😩
First thoughts on them - seem quite oily? Those who use them, do you use the whole capsule in the morning and another at night, or divide one for both morn and night?

I’m using half a capsule every morning. I keep the opened capsule in a contact lens case to protect it and stop it leaking.

@JMAngel1 Thanks

deeahgwitch · 25/01/2025 18:21

What brand of collagen do you use @XiCi ?

I like paulas choice salicylic acid. Works to shrink pores and fine lines.

this one

Hate to admit it but the WOW shine spray that is all over my instagram- the hairdresser had it and my hair is so shiny.

Hi @deeahgwitch . I posted pics upthread yesterday at 20:12

CarrotSeeds · 25/01/2025 19:21

@XiCi thanks, I've just ordered some 😂. I already take collagen
type ii capsules and really think my hair, very fine and thin, is now thicker after three months of taking them. People have commented on it. I thought the powder might be good to try to compare the two!

RoseHarper · 25/01/2025 21:06

For those wanting to try the EA capsules there are a few on Vinted, 6 or 7 capsules so if using half each day enough for a decent trial and they work out about £8 inc postage etc. K18 also on there. I've ordered the capsules to see if they suit my skin. Love this type of thread but just makes me want to buy loads! Trust the recommendations from real users rather than influences paid to sell.

deeahgwitch · 25/01/2025 21:17

Thank you @XiCi
I missed it when you posted it.
Apologies

SemperIdem · 25/01/2025 21:38

Laneige Cream Skin toner and moisturiser has been fantastic for me. Has really enhanced how smooth and glowy my skin looks

It’s very lightweight, I use it before after cleansing, before serum and then moisturise.

There will be influences on here masquerading as regular mumsnetters!!

Cantthinkofausername2022 · 25/01/2025 22:03

My skin is quite dry & crepey
I too love the EA capsules I use mine at night as they are a bit oily and need a bit of time to sink in
I use the Byoma hydrating recovery oil in the mornings as it’s not very oily and feels gorgeous on the skin my friend recommended it to me
Also loving tatcha’s dewy skin cream but it’s very pricey

I would love to start tret but am in Ireland and can’t find it anywhere! The ones recommended in the UK don’t ship to Ireland 😔

Iamblossom · 25/01/2025 22:40

XiCi · 24/01/2025 20:12

I alternate between these two, whichever is cheapest on Amazon when I need it. A tub lasts 2-3 months and I put 1-2 tablespoons in my cafetiere every morning with my coffee. Its tasteless.

I use that first one too

Iamblossom · 25/01/2025 22:41

I dissolve a serving of it in my pint of water along with a soluble vitamin C tablet

Iamblossom · 25/01/2025 22:42

Also going to try that windle curl enhancer, why not, I've tried every single other curly hair product 🤣

LunaTheCat · 25/01/2025 22:44

Gargoyles.. my skin is a lot smoother, it looks fresher and plumper. It’s helped my peri-oral dermatitis. I have been having monthly facials with LED for 2-3 years so it made sense to buy the omnilux. I don’t think that you can buy a product to apply that’s as good as LED.

abracadabra1980 · 25/01/2025 23:00

@tigerbear same as you! Haven't bought the Kerastase items yet - but I will; I'm going to treat myself this month, as I buy more for my dogs than myself! Thanks @JMAngel1 for starting the thread.
