What is your one transformative WOW beauty product that you found in 2024?

For me it was a product I didn’t want to like as it’s very pricey and I had thought over the years it was just a gimmick. Plus I had a really good skincare routine before I started using them (essence, HA serum, vit C, peptide cream, SPF, tretinoin, acid actives etc) and I didn’t really see that I could get much more positive effect than with what I was already using.
But wow, these little capsules (god they’re fiddly and annoying) of Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide oil/serum have massively improved my skin just adding it in as an additional layer after my other serums and before my peptide cream. My crepey under eye skin has completely smoothed out and fine lines on my forehead have gone. My skin tone looks more even and skin looks plumper definitely. I’m also less oily throughout the day. I’m gobsmacked given that it’s such a small amount in the capsule.
Only downside is now I have to find the money to include them in my routine ongoing!

What have you found recently that has been an absolute game changer?

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser.

A 'flat' foundation brush.

Started tretinoin in 2024, haven't noticed any difference yet.

I'm surprised people are having problems with bovine collagen because that is the recommended one for people with allergies. Obviously marine collagen is more problematic because of the seafood allergen connection. If anyone is having problems I'd recommend just lowering the dose until you get used to it as bloating will be just the digestive system breaking the collagen down

Jones Road Miracle Balm in Dusky Rose is fab, makes me look healthy and awake.
Charlotte Tilbury foundation- people saying I have lovely skin.
I also like her Moonglow highlighter although it doesn't last very long compared with others I've tried (but my fave Laura Geller one has been discontinued).

really like the Byoma jelly cleanser for the morning and the Byoma milky oil cleanser to remove makeup/daily grime at night. I turned 50 in November and have used all sorts of products over the years, depending on financial situation. I had been using the elemis cleansing balms at night for a while and although they are lovely, I'm not convinced that the price tag is justified. Byoma also do a cleaning balm so might give that a try when I run out of current supplies.
My other game changer is the Mac strobe dewy skin tint which gives a lovely glowy look to my skin without feeling heavy or unnatural.

I discovered Jojoba oil. My skin has never felt so hydrated and it is so cheap and lasts for ages.

Where do you buy it from please?

Medik8 liquid peptides advanced MD.
Been using since the early
Launch and it's improved my skin more than anything else!

Audiprettier · 09/02/2025 08:15

My Couldn't Be Without product is Perricone MD. The serum alone: (& Neuropeptide range) Cold Plasma+ range was just amazing. It's ridiculously pricey (I'd buy on offer/bundles etc. when possible)
but the results are really visible... Wouldn't have been without it. Used on my eyes, face and neck! Unfortunately Dr Perricone has recently sold his company (to THC) and some serums & creams suspiciously all look the same with no aroma. They originally had a distinct smell (medicinal but which dissipates almost immediately) & look/texture to them which was unmistakeable. I'm so so disappointed... The Cold Plasma+ range was second to none. They've now brought out a similar one which is just a cheap waxy version (Cold Plasma Hydrating Complex) & does nothing! I'm now loathe to buy my next Cold Plasma+ in case that's just a cheap version too, & therefore just another serum!

What a con! 😢

I went on the site to leave a critical review and noticed all the 'glowing' posts were from new Pericone users that had been sent freebies!

My other WOW (a beauty treatment) is CACI. I loved doing this so much and watching the transformations of faces (& bodies). Usually start to see the difference after approx 4 treatments! 💐

TheChirpyWasp · 09/02/2025 08:17

@HereComesEverybody can you link to the mascara please? I have a million mascara’s but still can’t get away from the panda look!!

Talkinrubbishagain · 09/02/2025 08:59

Vaseline!
I walk every morning very early. My skin is very sensitive and reacts badly every winter with dry scabs, red patches etc.
Vaseline put on before I walk has been a game changer.

I didn’t find any good products in 2024 either. But I think that’s because I used to experiment more in the previous years and found lots of good products that I still use.

Still on the lookout for a good shampoo for fine hair. My scalp tends to get dry and flakey while my hair gets oily fast. I used to love the System Professional Balance shampoo but I think it’s been discontinued.

My Fine, thinning, menopausal hair has responded well to Act + Acre stem cell shampoo and Hair Gain hair mask.

Not a new discovery for me but a tret/hydroquinone combo is without doubt the best thing you can do for flawless skin. It's a bit gruelling for a few months but utterly worth it.

Where would you get the tretinoin? From a Dermatologist?

Glowwa hair food tablets

I second this!

Update on the EA capsules. I haven’t used daily as keep forgetting but I did use last night and again this morning and by this evening I had a few tiny little under skin spots on my cheek. I’ve had this before with products and makeup with too much silicone for my skin. I’ll finish the tub off and prob do every other day but won’t be repurchasing.

mosaicbrokenhearts · 11/02/2025 22:18

One I forgot about that I have tried and found great was Nini Organics. I was gifted their crimson serum, Gaia moisturiser and their detox oil. Was a gift last year. They were on Dragons Den. The products are very lovely but very expensive so I haven’t repurchased for myself but would recommend!

Chanel cc cream
Hermes blush
One size oil sucker primer
Revlon colorstay cream eyeshadow (beats the expensive brands)
Clio liquid eyeliner (pen)- buy online
Chanel baume essential (used it ages ago but bought new one and really love it, best highlighter stick I have ever found).

Most of it is really pricey but I buy cheap clothes, dye my own hair and don't do any beauty treatments so I guess it balances out. Quite pared back on skincare too- just cleanser, hydrating essence, facial oil and sun serum and all quite cheap.
