For me it was a product I didn’t want to like as it’s very pricey and I had thought over the years it was just a gimmick. Plus I had a really good skincare routine before I started using them (essence, HA serum, vit C, peptide cream, SPF, tretinoin, acid actives etc) and I didn’t really see that I could get much more positive effect than with what I was already using.
But wow, these little capsules (god they’re fiddly and annoying) of Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide oil/serum have massively improved my skin just adding it in as an additional layer after my other serums and before my peptide cream. My crepey under eye skin has completely smoothed out and fine lines on my forehead have gone. My skin tone looks more even and skin looks plumper definitely. I’m also less oily throughout the day. I’m gobsmacked given that it’s such a small amount in the capsule.
Only downside is now I have to find the money to include them in my routine ongoing!

What have you found recently that has been an absolute game changer?

I remember reading something before about a possible link between collagen supplements and breast cancer. I'd like to give them a try but that is putting me off

Oh No ! That's now putting me off

I used to take collagen religiously until I bought a bovine collagen in error and it broke me out in terrible acne lumps. Took me 3 weeks to make the connection - I stopped and all the spots went away.

I should go back to the marine one I had been using as I did get excellent results from it (worked wonders on my nails and stopped by right hip from hurting) but just haven’t got round to ordering it again.

So it's been three days of using the EA capsules. A little goes a long way, I'm not honestly sure how people use a whole capsule in one go...I tried it once and it was like an oil slick! That said, my skin is lovely and soft and a bit more even so early signs are positive!
I'll also report back on the marine collagen of anyone is interested , I opted for a flavourless one to go in my coffee which works well.

Even just a quick Google tells me there is no evidence for this

I have greeeeasy skin - blot blot blot but my t zone is still teenage (even on decent skin care). I read good reviews of Danessa Myricks beauty blurring balm for the oily skin types but it was £ and I am a bit mean so never tried it. One frivolous day I saw a mini version with a blusher and bought it. Well I can’t say it blurs but I put it on, then put the MILK primer for greasy skin on top which seriously removes the look of my big oily pores. The tiniest bit of light foundation on top (the skin tint Ester Lauder one) and what felt quiet a bit greasy when it went on magically dries down to the best looking skin I can get and the really magic bit is that I don’t grease up. Oh and the blusher is lovely and I will buy both again super happily. I can’t really be arsed with make up but it’s part of my work look so I love that I do it once in the morning and I come home a busy day later looking identical. Result.

Intrigued by this! Can you tell me which Milk primer you used please?

sleepwouldbenice · 06/02/2025 10:18

So overall....EA capsules thumbs up or down ?

Frostine · 06/02/2025 10:36

@sleepwouldbenice

Meh ! A lot of money for what they are , not noticed a difference . Decided not to buy again .

WhereAreWeNow · 06/02/2025 17:58

They're not terrible @sleepwouldbenice but I wouldn't repurchase. I really don't like the high silicone content.

What's the problem with the high silicone content? I bought them too and am alternating between them and Vit C.

I think the EA ones instantly feel very skin softening. Perhaps that's the silicone?

WhereAreWeNow · 06/02/2025 18:23

Personal preference @Parratha . I really dislike the feel of silicone on my skin.

A collagen supplement

I run and was taking it to help recovery but my hair is lush and shiny and my nails have never been so strong.

Can you share which one please

BelgianBeers · 06/02/2025 18:25

@PotatoBreadForTheWin

It is the pore eclipse matt primer - comes in an all black tube. I tried it first as it said good for oily skin but I still got oily - it’s the other stuff that is the best at dealing with the grease. I suspect any primer would be ok but don’t have any others. Together am loving the effect and the lasting power.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 06/02/2025 18:40

Brilliant thank you @BelgianBeers

sleepwouldbenice · 06/02/2025 20:47

Thanks all!

Musntapplecrumble · 06/02/2025 22:25

I quite like the EA capsules for eyes, I got 60 for £27ish, they're tiny but one does cover most of my face as well. Not life-changing - yet! 😎

Musntapplecrumble · 06/02/2025 22:28

I would add I like the Ordinary retinaldehyde. Used to use Medik8 but O's is cheaper. I'm sure this has improved my skin, but you have to start on a low dose and work up.

Crispynoodle · 06/02/2025 23:32

Aldi Marine moisturising essence! I kid you not! Smells great and it really works

It's having zero discernable effect on my skin.

Pigtailsandall · 07/02/2025 09:44

I didn't buy much in 2024, but I got the Drunk Elephant sunshine drops - they give you a nice glow and make you look a bit healthier mid-winter (more like "I spend a sunny bank holiday in by back garden" vs. "been in St Tropez sunning myself all season"). Definitely look less pallid over zoon calls.

I need a new eye liner and will deffo be looking at the VB kohl liners thanks to this thread

ShowAndGo · 07/02/2025 11:01

I did wonder how good the Aldi 'marine range' was, given that there seems to be a lot left, discounted. What's the Aldi 'Hair Oil' meant to be a dupe of?

marthaisintheway · 07/02/2025 11:49

On the back of this thread I started taking collagen powder. 2 days in and I have the most painful and bloated stomach. Feel sick and cold. Have stopped taking it. Anyone else experience this? Any advice?

TiramisuThief · 07/02/2025 12:22

Oooh no I have not had any issues. That sounds really uncomfortable.

I think there was someone else who mentioned they had that problem too, not sure if it was this thread or another one.

I had that problem with bovine collagen, it made me feel bloated and sick. I now have marine collagen and it's ok, no effects. Not sure if that might make a difference?

marthaisintheway · 07/02/2025 13:54

Thanks, I hadn't thought that it might be because it's bovine collagen. I'll try marine collagen instead.

Firealarm1414 · 07/02/2025 21:01

Ok so I've been using the EA capsules for about a week now and I have to say that i think they do make a difference. My skin looks smoother and 'glowier' with makeup on. I use half at night then the other half in the morning. The fine lines around my eyes look better, and i havent been using any retinols or acids because I had some irritation so was letting my skin recover. At first I wasn't keen on the powdery feel but it doesn't bother me anymore. Pricey but would recommend
