No/low buy 2025 shop from wardrobe

A new thread to share 'shopping from our wardrobes' so we realise we already have nice things to wear and don't need to buy anything else.

*or Instagram accounts like that even, I just like YouTube best.

Today's outfit. I couldn't decide what to wear again so I wore a dress I don't really wear. This is a bit dated, 2010s skater style dress with this kind of print but I still like it so whatever. I've actually always liked skater dresses and skirts because the shape is v flattering on me.

@WillaDeWord was it Italy you were visiting?
Beautifully dressy evening clothes. I particularly love the orange silk skirt. Are those accessories with the evening wear capes, scarves or cashmere shawls?

I've just ordered some raspberry coloured trousers & I've been trying to work out what will go with them in my wardrobe to decide whether to keep them or not. So a real life try on & a virtual one courtesy of Whering has been very useful.
I've pictured all the tops & jackets that tone in with it.
It's suits me as a soft summer shade that's fairly earthy. But it's one I've always worn on my top half, not bottom. I think the best match is the Cashmere tie dye camisole in the dusty pink that came from Tk Maxx last year.

@Cantonet, I like the tie dye camisole with it, but also the Sage jacket. That's a lovely looking jacket by the way. I like raspberry and Sage together and the trousers seem a great colour. Are they linen?

@Netcam no the trousers are not linen but a lyocell viscose mix with a slightly crunchy texture.

Thanks, it's from Zara yonks ago and I haven't worn it for ages but I've been trying to dig out all my 'nice' tops again.

What are you all wearing in this very mixed weather?
I must admit I've been feeling a bit uninspired. So I've adhered to largely black & white tones in my wardrobe.
I'm also in the process of a massive jeans/trousers sort out & eBay listing.Its definitely ideal weather for that today.

I've found I've really had to embrace layering this year, especially now I work in an office where the AC means its chilly even when its tshirt weather outside. I'll be honest its hard to not just wear the same black cardigan over everything. I've got other jackets/jumpers/blazers and need to get more into the rotation.

@Cantonet, today was almost winter clothes weather! Hope you sorting out went well.

I went to a friend's birthday part which was supposed to be in her garden but ended up mostly in the house. I'd been hoping to wear a summer dress but ended up with multiple layers of merino for options, including tights. Thought I might take some layers off but ended up wearing it all. I was glad of my thick purple merino check shirt to keep warm.

Got soaked on the way home so had a hot shower and changed into linen trousers, a merino t-shirt and a light cotton crochet style cardigan.

@Cantonet love all of those outfits, they all look very 'put together'.

@Netcam I like all of those colours together, but I can't believe it's June and this is what we're getting- cardigans and merino 😭

It was my hen weekend last weekend, and since then I've just been in comfy clothes - I just haven't been bothered to get out of my jeans and t-shirts. The Saturday night theme last weekend was sequins, I loved it!

I remember the perils of air con @LivingDeadGirlUK It always used to trigger asthma overnight.

@Netcam i'm amused by your layers of merino. There's nothing worse than feeling cold outside during summer parties. I walked the dog last night with a cardi on top of a cardi & a down coat. Half way around I was absolutely roasting 😀

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing in the heat. I've been living in tank dresses this week with a linen shirt over the top to cover me up in the sun. I have lots of simple merino/tencel tank dresses like this in different colours, which is all I want to wear in this weather when WFH.

Not been to the office lately as DS2 has had an exam almost every day for the past few weeks and I need to be ready to drive him if there are any issues with the bus. He's been doing 4 A levels and STEP (Maths exam for Cambridge), it's a lot, he seemed exhausted last night, but only 3 more to go and he'll be finished on Friday.

Then we just have to wait to find out if he meets his Cambridge offer. And next week I can go to the office, wear some nice summery clothes and see my colleagues. And figure out what I'm going to wear for our work summer party in a couple of weeks.
