in 2024!

Lighthearted!

Loafers with everything from jeans to dresses with ankle socks.

The leggings and socks combo.

OP posts:
BigAnne · 23/12/2024 22:31

Lobster print dresses

SharpOpalNewt · 23/12/2024 22:32

Trainers are always being worn for fashion either. My feet are so much better now I wear trainers nearly all the time. Even just wearing heels in the office gave me foot pain. Fuck heels.

FavouriteTshirt · 23/12/2024 22:33

I've loved 2024 fashion.

I've never been so warm, comfortable and dry with such happy feet!! Long may it continue.

Cantonet · 23/12/2024 22:35

Mesh Mary janes that were inexplicably so popular this summer. Made every foot look misshapen & ugly.
I adore teddy bear borg though...

FitAt50 · 23/12/2024 22:35

Size 10 leggings on size 14 ladies. They get so stretched that they go transparent and you can see their knickers. And of course UGG boots.

SharpOpalNewt · 23/12/2024 22:35

I absolutely loathe loafers though as any time I've had some they rub my feet to fuck.

yehisaidit · 23/12/2024 22:38

Socks and sliders. In public. Wtaf.

Neveranynamesleft · 23/12/2024 22:39

Dresses with a high neck / ruffled frill.
No thanks.

Snowmenschilliballs · 23/12/2024 22:41

Ankle socks and leggings
Calf length puffer gilets

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 23/12/2024 22:42

Floisme · 23/12/2024 19:18

Ha GenX beat me to it!

And me. I don't understand them and they all look the same.

SabrinaToolmaker · 23/12/2024 22:44

Waistcoats as tops.
Scrunch bum leggings.
Those mesh shoes a pp mentioned.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 23/12/2024 22:45

canyon2000 · 23/12/2024 22:27

How can you not understand why people wear trainers as everyday footwear though?!! You might not like them but surely you can understand why so many people wear them?

No. I don't understand it.

Snowmenschilliballs · 23/12/2024 22:46

The "ironic bad fashion" fashion. Everyone looking like they have walked out of the cover of an LP of church music made in some obscure part of southern states of America in the 1960s

Gingernaut · 23/12/2024 22:47

Ra-ra skirts, peplum tops/dresses, leg warmers, open fronted, waterfall cardigans, coatigans, sleepwear as outdoor wear, lounge wear, shell suits, pussy cat bow blouses, 7/8 length or ankle grazer trousers, cargo pants and a special place in Hell goes to.....

Drumroll please

Gilets/bodywarmers - as someone with Reynaud's Syndrome, the last thing I need is something which leaves my arms uncovered. Fuck. That

Pumpkincozynights · 23/12/2024 22:52

Those boots with open toes and/or open heels. Why?
Wear sandals or sling backs if you want open toes or heels, but not boots.
Agree with the nude coloured leggings, especially when they look several sizes too small.

Jostuki · 23/12/2024 22:53

Those ghastly long puffer gilets/sleeveless coat.

Pumpkincozynights · 23/12/2024 22:54

Oh and wearing shorts with a coat and Woolley hat.

Snowmenschilliballs · 23/12/2024 22:54

Everything being shapeless. Can we go back to clothes fitting please.

ChippingSoda · 23/12/2024 23:15

Think I’ll be in minority but I’ve not enjoyed the chunky shoe/boot trend over the past years… the worst ones were like wellies (sometimes white with a huge black tyre-track sole) and strongly remind me of something o you’d need to wear working in an abattoir…

I love a penny loafer. Chic and so easy to wear. I hope they stay in style for the next couple of summers so we can wear with bare legs and dresses.

CranberryBread · 23/12/2024 23:18

Jostuki · 23/12/2024 22:53

Those ghastly long puffer gilets/sleeveless coat.

I was really confused when I saw these. Gilets are good for when it's chilly but not cold. Long puffer coats are for when it's like Siberia outside. They might not be stylish but they're practical. So what's the point in chopping the sleeves off? In coat weather you're going to freeze and in gilet weather you'll overheat. I don't get what they're for.

Sgtmajormummy · 23/12/2024 23:19

The latest model of Barbour jacket for men. The Ogston?
Too short, too tight and the two chest pockets make men look like they have boobs.
Anything for men with two chest pockets.

Doc Marten Mary Janes.

Those huge thick matted mohair scarves.

AmadeustheAlpaca · 23/12/2024 23:29

Large shapeless frumpy tent like dresses, often with floral or garish patterns on them. This fashion has been around for a while, looking forward to fitted flattering attractive dresses being available this summer, though I'm not holding my breath.
Wearing shorts in freezing cold weather.
Long puffer coats.

MissBattleaxe · 23/12/2024 23:34

Melancholyflower · 23/12/2024 19:52

So many people not bothering to think about trends specific to 2024 and just naming fashions/clothing items/shoes they don't like.🙄

Guilty. I missed the 2024 but in the OP. Still, it's nice to talk fashion bloopers.

Here's 2 from 2024: eyelashes that look like black tarantulas and inflated lips.

Blueuggboots · 23/12/2024 23:41

Sliders and socks. (They're flip flops actually, but.....)

Blueuggboots · 23/12/2024 23:42
