Aren’t the family who own Chanel Jewish ?
There was a problem during the 2nd World War and after it with Coco Chanel and the family afaik.
Trying to remember what I learnt from the Chanel exhibition at the V&A last year.

Coco Chanel was anti-Semitic and had no objection to Nazis much. In short. There’s a bit more nuance but I will say delving too much into her personal history and decisions does put one off the brand a bit. I stopped watching one of the dramatisations of her life because I didn’t want to have to stick various bits of my wardrobe on Vinted!

Chanel is privately owned by the Weirtheimer brothers.
The Weirheimer family are Jewish afaik and perhaps that influenced Kate to wear a Chanel bag at the event.
She doesn't usually use distinctly designer bags like Chanel, Dior, Bottega etc for public events.

So fashion nods with the bag and necklace.

Loved her outfit and her pearls, very classy. I prefer her hair shorter though, something a little crisper with fewer ringlets perhaps?

WRT Catherine’s hair. I imagine she may have been at risk of losing her hair or seeing it thin during her treatment.

Hairloss for women, be it alopecia or a side effect of treatment, can be distressing and impact your self image.

I can understand why she might want to keep her longer hair to give her confidence.

I agree with this and also it has been said that she may have let her hair grow in order to donate it for wigs, which she has previously done

She's doing really well, it's hard to go back to work after a long period of sick leave. Being scrutinised must be very difficult.
The photo scandal was early March last year...it was my husbands birthday! What a year they all had.

🍼🎉 Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, 22nd January, at 12:57pm.

The baby was born weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces.

The King and Queen, and other members of The Royal Family have all been informed and are delighted with the news.

Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.

Her Royal Highness and her daughter are healthy and doing well, and the family are enjoying spending time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna.

Beatrice was at Davos last week they said. I'm betting an issue so baby was delivered early. That's really tiny. Our twins were that size delivered at 31 weeks.

I think the picture is nice, but it's a shame her arm is in the way, privacy and identification surely can't be a problem with such a tiny baby?
I've also noticed that she also has Elizabeth as a middle name, like Sienna.

I prefer the natural pose to the little foot blanket pose! Interesting to use Elizabeth twice, and not use Sarah!
Princess Margaret was Margaret Rose? Mumsnet doesn't like Rose as a middle name. (One of my daughters has it! )

Yes, it's unusual for siblings, though. Lena has Elizabeth, but Mia has Grace as a middle name. Anyway, personal choice.

Yes she wasn't due just yet (early spring was the due date given) but home inside a week means she can't have been that early. As my 42+4 was only 7lb 6 I don't think she's that dinky.
