Stylish Quilted Housecoat

Hello,
I've gone and fallen in love with the Piglet in Bed quilted housecoat but it's £200! Does anyone have any alternative recommendations for a good quality, plain (no pattern), quilted but stylish housecoat? I remember laughing with my cousins at my lovely nanna's quilted housecoat but now I see why she wore one!

Thanks All!

You'll never find a stylish housecoat. They're essentially dressing gowns that you can wear all day.

This one isn't totally ugly

Sorry, there's no such thing as a stylish quilted housecoat.

I think I'd rather just turn the heating up personally

I genuinely don't understand what a quilted housecoat is for? Is it not just a case of wearing warmer clothes if you’re cold? Why is it different to a dressing gown or a coat? Am curious!

I think that housecoat and dressing gown are interchangable? Probably housecoat sounds more 'Waitrose'? I want something fab that I can put on when I get up to feed the cats or laze around on a Sunday morning every so often!

Why don't you get a nice thick towelling one? (NOT fleece or polyester). They are warm, comfortable and very practical, chuck them in the washing machine every so many weeks.

Those quilted things look stiff and so uncomfy.

Marsaala · 09/12/2024 14:40

The Fenwick Regent robe looks, comfy and cosy.

Marsaala · 09/12/2024 14:45

The White Company have some too - but some are polyester (not nice). John Lewis and M & S too.

This is the 'housecoat' in question. I could see myself drinking coffee and reading the papers in this on a Sunday but would prefer not to spend £200!! Anyone got any cheaper ideas? TIA

That is really nice but why on earth have they called it a housecoat! It just brings up visions of buttoned up 70s polyester nightmares, settig alight from stray fagash. Like these images.app.goo.gl/difGsjLxXuDJzTcy5

looks like something Chairman Mao would have worn. Awful IMO.

NoCureForLove · 09/12/2024 22:13

Maybe you need this? £4 cheaper!

LoafofSellotape · 10/12/2024 00:36

What makes it a housecoat rather than dressing gown?

EconomyClassRockstar · 10/12/2024 00:49

I just wear Aerie pjs and a great fringe arm dressing gown from Etsy that gives me that wafty Sunday morning feeling. And then turn the heating on!

MissMarplesNiece · 10/12/2024 06:24

Button through ones are so much nicer than the wrap round ones with tie belts which usually look very untidy and make me look overweight - especially the ones made out of towelling or thick fleece which are too bulky. My button through one doesn't keep coming undone and doesn't make me feel like a sack tied up in the middle.

I thought a house coat was one of those things Hilda Ogden wore to cilantro the Rovers Return.

User820825 · 10/12/2024 06:30

Oh, Gucci have one but it's out of budget.

Typerighter · 10/12/2024 06:45

It looks like a jedi robe

Oreyt · 10/12/2024 06:55

Just wear a dressing gown?

Is it for warmth or to protect your clothes?

AnnieMac89 · 10/12/2024 07:03

I'm with you OP, I love that Piglet in Bed housecoat/ dressing gown but can't bring myself to spend £200 on it!

Mooch has a slightly cheaper one moochcotswolds.co.uk/products/quilted-dressing-gown-robe

Or the Happy Cabbage ones are also nice

Piglet did have a good Black Friday sale though so might be worth seeing what's available in Jan!

Coalplay · 10/12/2024 07:05
