We were talking about clones recently. I have no problem buying a clone of discontinued fragrance, or fragrance that is very expensive and known poor longevity and multiple reformulations. If I really want to try a perfume or at least the type and there is no way to buy sample, 10ml or smell in store. I have few currently, one is my favourite discontinued perfume and one is lost cherry but isn't very good. I find they are good at capturing general vibes of the fragrance but not the complexity and not the transitions between opening, middle and drydown. They stay linear
Arab dupes - I have not had luck with the samples and few I ordered cheaply. The one I liked was suppose to be like byredo sundazed. Lovely bottle but as the perfume aged few months in became unbearably strong and sweet, and not like the original at all. However I have very limited experience - just few samples and two bottles and all didn't work for me. The few that work were not dupe type.
Zara were great when I was getting into perfume as I managed to buy good few cheaply and learn about what perfumes make me feel good and what not. They are cheap I probably bought too many blindly and too many end up in the bin. I have hibiscus that I use as room spray and my husband loves and two Jo Malone range that are part of my main collection, and few we use in bathrooms but honestly are very nice! I always enjoy trip to zara for a sniff session but I don't buy as much anymore.
I gave my son the 10ml Bohemian Lime Goldfield and Banks, bit too masculine for me. I have softer lime form Atelier Cologne.
I have been rotating Ginger Biscuit and Gris Charnel lately, I think sometimes I like wearing same perfume consecutive days - particularly when I know it improves my mood and energy
Erba Pura is strange.. not sure if I will appreciate it more when it's warm out.
