I went with Fugazzi Angel dust for today. And turmeric latte for bed.

@happytobemrsg i agree with @mian try and get 10mls. My usual method is a small sample. If I like it, I move up to 10ml. If I am sad it’s gone when the 10ml is gone, Then it goes my full bottle list.

I have a sample of Turmeric latte on order.. it sounded just up my street
How do you find it?

My Harrods Fragrance calendar has has Acqua di Parma Oud & Zagara and Nostos Libre Orange in it. Has anyone tried them? I am unsure if I should try them as I like a more floral fragrance.

IDontHateRainbows · 17/12/2024 23:03

Bedtime scent is mumbai noise. I do love it, but as I've had noseblindness before I try not to spray it more than once a week

happytobemrsg · 18/12/2024 00:28

Thanks @MiaN & @IDontHateRainbows. I’ll go for a 10ml bottle

fivebyfivebuffy · 18/12/2024 00:39

Still on ginger biscuit as I sprayed it for work and got it on my coat so figured I'll stick with it for a few days!

Fancying a change though so going to swap out for something but I don't know what which isn't like me at all
Zara Barbie maybe or a pastry in Paris

Both were strong dislike for me but my
son likes the Nostos and kept it. Oud and Zagara - out of the 3 fragrace advents this was the only 1 that nobody from my family liked, I couldn't sell and those I offered to try and take if they like didn't either. No love at all. I don't like it for bathroom scent

I love it. I got the 30ml bottle I think next year I will definitely go bigger.

For the first few seconds it’s very boozy. A little too much maybe. But with a minute or so it’s beautiful. I would describe it as a aromatic deep and not too sweet vanilla.

It’s my second favourite lush. Death and decay is the only one that tops it for me.

MiaN · 18/12/2024 05:12

Jazz club isn't exactly vanilla forward but it is sweet, boozy, smokey dark winter scent that is worth of sniff. I had 7ml of this one. Out of the replica fall winter sample set autumn vibes, by the fireplace and jazz club, jazz club is the one I like most. Tested sailing day and on the beach yesterday. Replica sample set is great, but sure if any will end on my wish list but I am enjoying the variety

Isabelle70 · 18/12/2024 07:04

@MiaN thank you, I will give the pair of them a swerve. I don't have anyone that will appreciate them or be willing to try them so I will place them on eBay in the NY. There were both described as unisex so I was wary.
I am using Elysium Roja and enjoying that one at the moment, gorgeous bottle too.

I didn't get on with jazz club, although I loved aut vibes. Fireplace I was obsessed with a couple of years ago but it's another one that I have a totally different reaction to now... I'm very fickle it seems

IDontHateRainbows · 18/12/2024 07:30

Going for the same combo as yesterday, ylang espresso by floral street with vanilla 28 by kayali

MiaN · 18/12/2024 08:11

working from home today going with Givenchy L'Interdit Intense. It feels right for today - the right amount of feminine, peppery, bubble gummy, spicy, fresh and deep. I don't know if I would buy as many L'Interdit if I was building up collection again but I sure enjoy them all apart form last two

New Liberty fragrance edit just released. Contents in picture below. Three are 50ml, there is a 30ml and a 20ml and also 5 other travel size perfumes. But £425!

tempted, but not at that price. I wonder why they have released it now and at that price point, something around the £150-£200 mark would be much more palatable

IDontHateRainbows · 18/12/2024 08:48

Heading into town on the tram as its the work xmas party tonight and there's a massive selfridges just near where I change trams. May need to go for a cheeky sniff, luckily I'm not in my usual office this morning so no worries about stinking out colleagues.

Tempted to try babycat and leather vanille

I went late night shopping on Monday and must have sniffed 100 perfumes. Sampled all the Byredo perfumes and I think Mumbai Noise is my second fave after MG (which is already under the tree). I spotted it was in the Harrods calendar so I've bought an 8 ml from Vinted. The other one I liked was Rose of No Man's Land which surprised me as I'm a bit marmite on rose scents.

Also discovered scents I'd like for spring summer. Acqua di Palma Capri and Panarea and Amouage Sunshine are lovely.

Came home with a 10ml of Commodity Milk + which is a fascinating scent. First sniff I loved it, then as it settled I wasn't sure but once it was worn for over 30mins I loved it again. It sort of reminds me of home made rice pudding which I know doesn't sound enticing but somehow it is.

Glad the commodity was a hit. I have the 10ml from one of the ACs still in it's packaging, waiting for the right moment to try. Going through a lactonic/ vanilla/ gourmand phase at the moment so tempted to give it to DH to give to me for Xmas. He's pretty clueless when it comes to this kind of thing so easier for me to just buy something for myself and give it to him to gift.

How on earth did you manage to sniff 100 without getting nose- confusion? Using the paper strip things? If I spray on my body I get confused after a few.

It was mostly paper strips or sniffing the bottles. A few I was most interested in I found a bit of available arm for. I suspect smelling a lot in one go is not the way to do it but I don't often get the opportunity so went for it!

Cantonet · 18/12/2024 09:14

Guerlain Nahema today.
Rich dark rose with hyacinth & spring flowers.

paristotokyo · 18/12/2024 09:50

I really want to try ginger biscuit, sounds like something I'd like. I will give it a try next I'm in a store.

Todays wear is killian love don't be shy. Not sure I'm in the mood for it though as I'm so sleep deprived and moody due to baby waking up 68 million times per night. Probably need something less sweet.

AprilLady · 18/12/2024 10:30

SOTD Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Intense. I haven’t worn this for a while, but really enjoying it today. Pleasant and undemanding.

potplantsinparadise · 18/12/2024 10:36

Today: ffern Autumn 2024 - spiced quince, very festive.

IDontHateRainbows · 18/12/2024 10:42

Results of sniffing sesh: I have a new, very expensive love may need to look at dupes. BDK velvet tonka. Liking this brand. Velvet Tonka is vanillar-y and warm with a bit of spiciness coming through.
Couldn't find the vanilla leather.
Also tried loads of others nothing stood out except diptyque philosokos was nice.

Managed to pop into lush and try the Turmeric latte. Much spicier than I thought but I have a sample on the way so will give it a proper try then.

Can't stop sniffing my hand with the velvet Tonka onn, must look a proper look on the tram!
