* Please avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance. * (Edited at request of the OP by MNHQ)

It is one sleep away! We’ve all been very patient, since Liberty London revealed their advent calendar in June this year.

Reveals from 7am GMT each morning please. This is to harmonise discussion/shift work/different time zones.

I'm a bit disappointed by today's as I still have the one from the Beauty Drop unopened! I do love the brand (my hairdresser uses it) but I tried this from a sachet and didn't like it much (I think I used far too much as it was hard to work out how much to use from the sachet) so haven't even opened my first one yet.

Pollydollydoodle · 10/12/2024 08:50

I was convinced today was the 11th and I've opened tomorrow's drawer by mistake! 🙈

nearly61 · 10/12/2024 08:58

Yes @BakeOffRewatch I agree re the eye cream. I've been very surprised as this is something I've been quite meh about in the past but, since it was in the advent, decided to try twice a day. Like you, found it a bit thick but I am sure there was an immediate improvement in the appearance of the skin under my eyes. I was so sure I even suspected there was some colour in the cream -like a bit of concealer!! So this is a surprise win and one I'll continue to buy.
Thank you for the info regarding the eyeliner -I hadn't seen the reviews before and am a bit unsure now as I don't have anything to remove waterproof eye makeup. Might procrastinate a few days longer, it's not going anywhere after all!!

Waffles21 · 10/12/2024 09:36

Thanks so much@BakeOffRewatch. I am loving the rose serum, I love the smell, and my skin feels really soft after having used it for the past week. I also really rate Good Genes, despite not having got this yet due opening the wrong door🤦🏻‍♀️but I’ve been using it for a few weeks from somewhere else and it’s really making my skin look brighter, so a def yes from me! I’m finishing off some Elemis eye cream at the moment but looking forward to using the Ren based on your reviews.
I’m recovering post surgery at the moment so not used much else but look forward to using them and enjoying reading everybody’s reviews. Not convinced about todays but my hair is post menopausal, falls out in clumps so maybe it’s the magic I need!!
On a slightly different note, for those of you who get beauty drop, would you recommend and is it worth it despite the increase in cost? I’m seriously considering it. Thanks and thanks for all the chat, it definitely makes it more exciting having others opening at the same time!

jay55 · 10/12/2024 09:55

Glad someone's explained today’s is a hair product as I was a bit clueless.

GinandGingerBeer · 10/12/2024 10:22

I use this all the time as well as the Davines oil and both work a treat on my wavy/frizzy hair.
I hadn't realised the eyeliner usually comes with a sharpener. That's pretty poor they've not included it. I hope it's a universal size and not like Charlotte tilbury where only their own sharpener work with their eye crayons.

TheRealMummyPig · 10/12/2024 10:51

Very happy with Good Genes and also looking forward to trying today's hair product but not sure about yesterday's make up as I only wear brown eye liner, not black, and the blush looks a bit too bright!

Expo23 · 10/12/2024 19:01

I've never received today's in a beauty drop. I feel cheated now as I really like it. I think I may often have items missing and not realise it. I had an item missing recently that I did notice, but didnt report as I sont think I cared enough. I also had not noticed one until they emailed asking for a review or thoughts on the product. If I've missed out on this too I think maybe I should start checking and reporting!

BakeOffRewatch · 10/12/2024 19:23

How long have you been signed up @Expo23 ? It was a while ago. Yes definitely check! They seem to be geared to replace missing products quickly. When they do the beauty drops, their WhatsApp automates responses about it like they have got the advent calendar at the moment.

This blog review says July 2022 https://www.zoeyolivia.com/2022/07/a-review-of-julys-liberty-beauty-drop-box.html

It started October 2021. I was signed up for the second box until the fat eyeliner drop and then rejoined this year to access the pre-orders of the advent. I wanted to sign up
as soon as it was launched but they limited numbers and I always rue missing out on the very first drop!

@BakeOffRewatch oh I wonder if I joined just after. I would say I have been a member for two years so I will have missed that one then. I don't feel as wronged now!!! Thank you! I really should pay better attention. I'm always happy with the box anyway and I love that it isn't every month. I used to get Cohorted but I ended up with too much stuff.

emmab16 · 10/12/2024 19:46

So I used the Sunday Riley for the first time last night and now have some bumps between my mouth and chin … not sure if it’s a coincidence though

Wherethewildthingsfart · 10/12/2024 20:03

I’m a big fan of the hair milk so I’m happy.

@Waffles21 totally worth it imo.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 10/12/2024 20:14

@emmab16 Good Genes has always worked for me but I'm a great believer that if a product doesn't work for you then stop.

Lots of people swear by Luna but it brought me out in Cystic acne.

Personally the only product I swear by now is Tretinol. It took me 52 years mind you.

Wherethewildthingsfart · 10/12/2024 20:19

I really hope that we get a cleanser at some point! I’ve run out and I’m currently using an exfoliating cleanser and having to avoid my eyes 😂

Same. I've another due soon from a different subscription but till then I'm using rubbish stuff. Can't believe I run out, and I refuse to buy more just in case!

nearly61 · 10/12/2024 20:39

@Waffles21 I definitely think the beauty drop is worth it -I love the boxes and really look forward to them arriving. The cost of £15 per box is very good value too. I don't shop irl in Liberty really very much (live elsewhere) but do make use of the free postage for any purchase from time to time and I tend to use the £20 per month to save towards my advent. Another big benefit is the 10% off the kits -I adore their perfume ones so always try to get that. So yes, definitely worth it for me and I'd heartily recommend it to you.

Thank you. I do have rosacea so my skin can be iffy!

BakeOffRewatch · 10/12/2024 20:44

@Waffles21 depends what you mean by worth it, is each box worth £15? Yes. Would I make better use of the £15 per box/£75 subscription elsewhere? Probably. Could I spend the same for the same joy? No. I like the surprise, discussion with others, even if it’s joking about it, and trying new things. I like that it’s a variety of beauty products beyond what I need, like bath oils and perfumes. I’m someone who used to spend a lot on trends and fashion and enjoyed it but with kids and stuff now I don’t so this box gives me the same buzz. If you’re not into that, then I don’t think it’s worth it.

I unsubscribed when it was clear they were just getting rid of old stock because it had stuff they had stopped selling, like the awful chubby eyeliner of October 2022. Definitely no buzz with that. Then I resubscribed after they upped their game this year and developed the new pricing model. I’ve been happy with each of the boxes this year. Sometimes I give stuff away, like the self tan drops this summer. Philip Kingsley isn’t a brand I’ve ever looked at but I am loving the anti frizz crème.

Brilliant, thanks everyone, think I’m going to sign up, even if only for a year and to save up
for next years advent !! £25 a month is nothing really and like you’ve all said, lovely to look forward to and great to try new things!

measureofmydreams · 10/12/2024 22:55

hello, may I join please? My son in law gifted this to me on Sunday 8th (as he has done for the last 3 years!), and I was away in Brighton at a gig on 9th so I've got a bit of catching up to do!

lostonadustyrock · 11/12/2024 05:06

Very happy with today’s offering but I feel like I need to proceed with caution. I have quite sensitive skin so am a bit worried it’ll make me break out. Off for a Google….

AnnieFrancais · 11/12/2024 07:18

I saw myself in the mirror this morning and thought my hair looks nice then remembered I put the hair milk on it yesterday, just on dry when I opened the box: Its definately made a difference: I LOVED their hair oil a couple of years ago but can't get it here in France
Another skin resurfacing product and its a mask like one, I can't wait to try it! Can I use this at the same time as the Good Genes one?
I still have the Luna from last year: In fact I only just opened the Paulas choice exfoliator so I guess the Good Genes has to wait:
Does anyone else have so many products open because wether they buy, receive as a gift or find them in the advent calendar they can't resist openning and trying right there, right then?!
I had a couple of just opened bottles given to me from Beautie pie (glow drops and something else similar, serums), might have to give them to my DH or DD so I can get on with the new ones ;)

Un4732 · 11/12/2024 08:12

Very happy with today!! A lactic acid was on my shopping list and this looks like a good one. Has anyone used it before?

Same - I'm pleased but think I am going to use mine in place of my retinol once a week and be very cautious with it.

As I think I said upthread - I'm quite cautious with introducing new products now (after I basically ruined my skin a few years ago using far too many products/ acids at once) so I tend to try one new thing to replace a step in my normal routine until I'm sure about it.

Chickydoo · 11/12/2024 08:55

Not tried this before but live Votery.
Have just applied, hopefully all will be well Grin
