* Please avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance. * (Edited at request of the OP by MNHQ)

It is one sleep away! We’ve all been very patient, since Liberty London revealed their advent calendar in June this year.

Reveals from 7am GMT each morning please. This is to harmonise discussion/shift work/different time zones.

It's a slide opening if that makes sense - so you need to push it across to open.

@allmybooksarefromthelibrary no its the liner, the lid is pushed down so far it won't come off

Today is a DoD for me, I don't use black eyeliners and the blush is too pink for me.

Un4732 · 09/12/2024 10:02

Was so tentative about ordering this but am thrilled. Loved everything so far, even came round to perfume no.1.

Great to get some make up, not a blush shade I'd choose but this is all about trying new things.

The Good Genes serum I can see being a new pricey habit already!!!!

Shame the rose serum has brought out a spot and redness on me but can use on decolletage/neck. Will park it and try again in a few weeks on face to be sure though as it feels lovely.

Chickydoo · 09/12/2024 10:32

I am a black eyeliner girl, so very happy today :)

Buster27 · 09/12/2024 11:14

I already have this eyeliner and really like it, so happy to have a spare. The blush doesn't look like a shade I'd pick, but it will be nice to try something new so I'm looking forward to trying.

jay55 · 09/12/2024 11:21

I like the liner a lot. The blush is a miss for me but hopefully one of my (much younger) cousins will like it.

GinandGingerBeer · 09/12/2024 11:33

For those of you who don't use an eyeliner you could try it as a tightliner, this makes a big difference and makes your eye more defined and your lashes look thicker at the base
(Use it under the upper lashes right at the base- bit hard to describe!)

GreatFinch · 09/12/2024 14:05

I was unimpressed by the good genes yesterday as I've had it before and not liked it. Slapped some on last night just because and I'm converted. My skin feels lovely. Last time it made my skin very spotty but also dry, don't know what's changed but it's very nice.

goingslightlyinsane · 09/12/2024 15:31

Has anyone had any calender issues so far?
My day 7 was not the Bibbi perfume (it was something else and I won't tell you as it's obviously from another day and got muddled up and I don't want to spoil anything)

I didn't want to go checking and spoil anymore days so I contacted Liberty who were very quick to organise a replacement Bibbi perfume (which I may already have somewhere in there)

Didn't have any issues last year, but the year before had quite a few!

P.s- I'm a bit Meh about today's.

Lemonademoney · 09/12/2024 16:51

Nice to try todays - the blush looked too bright initially but I was pleasantly surprised when I swept it across by cheekbones, it’s subtle and flattering. I’m not generally an eyeliner gal any more (crinkly eyes) but I’ve had a little try just very subtly running it across my lash line and it’s made my lashes look nice and thick.

nearly61 · 09/12/2024 17:16

I'm keen to try today's but need to wait until it's daylight tomorrow now -frustrating! @GinandGingerBeer thank you for the tightline steer, that's a clever suggestion and what I intend trying tomorrow, so thank you for that! I've always avoided eyeliner -small eyes and (ahem) quite a few lines but it had't occurred to me to try on the waterline. Could be a lot more flattering for me.

Bumblebeehum · 09/12/2024 18:12

I've never tight lined my eyes, does it not smudge out throughout the day?

nearly61 · 09/12/2024 18:18

@Bumblebeehum I'm hoping not but will report back tomorrow! Interestingly I watched a short video on Instagram Trish McEvoy which shows her applying it and then using a cotton bud to kind of remove excess -i think that is to help stop the smudging. The link to video is https://www.instagram.com/trishmcevoy/reel/C-JAlKRtruK/ I hope this works -not 100% certain on links!

Wherethewildthingsfart · 09/12/2024 18:50

I didn’t want to like today’s when I first opened as I already have a favourite make up brand and stick to it but was willing to try. I quite like the texture of the eyeliner and the colour of the blush.

Bumblebeehum · 09/12/2024 19:00

Ah thanks @nearly61 I like the brown colour eyeliner and mascara

nearly61 · 09/12/2024 19:24

Yes that’s gorgeous isn’t it- might have been more universal to add to the calendar too. But I’ll crack on and try the black!

emmab16 · 09/12/2024 19:47

AnnieFrancais · 09/12/2024 09:26

@allmybooksarefromthelibrary no its the liner, the lid is pushed down so far it won't come off

I found it really hard to get off too!!

emmab16 · 09/12/2024 19:52

I’m a bit behind posting here so been catching up with everyone’s posts ❤️

Hated the perfume, it smelled so old granny to me & not like my Gran that wore No5 😂 - that has been put on Vinted.

Loved the hand cream and hadn’t realised there was also a bath oil until I read it here! That was very exciting as I love AA scents.

Never tried Glycolic acid before as I tend to use stronger acids, so looking forward to trying it.

Not sure about the blusher, but I have a 13 yo that has her eye on it, so might be an extra Christmas pressie. I also rarely wear black eyeliner, but will give it a try as I love the texture.

BakeOffRewatch · 09/12/2024 20:21

Day 9 - I’m very late so a cursory post to mark the day. Tried a different photo angle and managed to fit in the cute bunny on the roof.

Trish McEvoy Intense Gel Liner in Black 1.2g FULL SIZE
Value £22

Surratt Artistique Blush in Ponceau 4g FULL SIZE
Value £30

The blush colour Ponceau isn’t actually available on the Liberty website?

The gel eyeliner is waterproof so yes will be difficult to get off.

I saw two Liberty advent calendars in the local charity shop today, felt very arrivée. One was this year’s!

Wow the reviews for the blush are amazing on Cult Beauty https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/p/surratt-artistique-blush-4g-various-shades/12303278/#reviews I look forward to trying it

Wait you have to sharpen the eye liner? On websites it says it comes with a complimentary sharpener. Bit pointless to provide without! www.libertylondon.com/uk/intense-gel-eyeliner-383186.html I’m reading the reviews on it and MakeUpAlley reviews say there’s a lot of product waste from sharpening it - though people love the eyeliner. I think whether you like this eyeliner will really depend on how you use it. It’s not for subtlety . www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=156376/Intense-Gel-Eyeliner-Pencil/Trish-McEvoy/Eyeliner

Very happy with today’s product. It’s a brand I already use and didn’t realise Liberty were stocking it til I had a jaunt around the ground floor last weekend :)

secretbumworms · 10/12/2024 07:15

I'm interested to try todays product. I have wavy, frizzy hair that's difficult to get looking decent, so maybe this will be the magic potion I've been looking for.

BakeOffRewatch · 10/12/2024 08:26

Day 10

Davines OI Milk 50ml FULL SIZE
Value £18.50 / £10.28 (full size £27.75 for 135ml)

Liberty bill it as full size for the advent calendar but only sell the 135ml size, other retailers’ website like Selfridges call the 50ml travel size. We’ve had this in the Liberty Beauty Drop before and people really loved it on the thread. It says it’s a detangler but it made my hair sticky and stick together. It also stops spraying after a bit so I was pouring it out and then scraping it out the bottle. It did make my hair look, smell and feel really nice. All swishy if a bit sticky. I really love the Davines brand have been using it for over a decade, their prices have really shot up, almost double! I really like the Philip Kingsley Anti Frizz we received in we received in the October Beauty Drop, smells like coconut and is more like a serum than a milk.

Day 5 - I’ve been using the eye cream twice a day for three days now, I had my doubts finding it claggy but it actually feels like it’s given my eye area a boost! I wake up feeling quite refreshed. Maybe I’ve got to the age where I need thicker eye creams.

Day 6 - I am absolutely loving the Verden hand cream. My hands are awful as I over wash and it does soothe them.

Day 8 - I forgot to say if you’re new to acids, you have to use SPF even in winter. Little point gleaming now whilst damaging skin. I’ve used it each night since we’ve received it and my skin looks great but I’ve not appreciated needing to o it SPF on in winter so might give it a break.

Any other reviews now we’ve had a few days for a selection of items? I’ve really surprised myself by liking the REN eye cream.

Absolutely love today’s! Have used it before and it suits my hair perfectly
Will save for my winter sun break as it's a good travel size
