* Please avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance. * (Edited at request of the OP by MNHQ)

It is one sleep away! We’ve all been very patient, since Liberty London revealed their advent calendar in June this year.

Reveals from 7am GMT each morning please. This is to harmonise discussion/shift work/different time zones.

Wasn't sure how to use todays, so thank you for guidance @spoeke et al

Dealing with breakouts today so reluctant to add anything new to routine, but will add it to the queue for next year.

Anyone still got their Ghost of Tom from last year that they don't like? I'll happily swap for yesterdays or Day 1 perfume!

nearly61 · 08/12/2024 14:02

Hi @Bumblebeehum I’d happily swap my ghost of Tom but it’s not completely full. I’ll send a pic when I get home if you haven’t found anyone with a full one to swap. You would be welcome to the Ouai shampoo too if you wanted it

imp2007 · 08/12/2024 14:55

I'm a little bit nervous of todays generally love trying new skincare but my skin really didn't like last years Luna sleeping oil - not sure if I should give it a go maybe just starting once a week initially? Would people suggest this serum in the morning and the rose one in the evening? Or just different days? Grateful if any help or advice from those more skincare savvy than myself!!! Also anyone with fairly sensitive skin that has used successfully.

BakeOffRewatch · 08/12/2024 14:59

The Luna Oil is really potent. It made my skin look like smooth china after one night. After three days it made me come out in a few cystic spots on jaw line and I won’t use it now as I think it must affect hormones. I hadn’t had cystic acne for years after a course of roaccutane. You can’t use it, or any retinal, whilst pregnant or breastfeeding. I do well with Good Genes and use once a week. They’re two different products. If you usually do well with exfoliants and acids I wouldn’t let your Luna Oil experience put you off Good Genes.

I think this is my issue today, I only just started on Luna Oil last week - the blue pillowcases put me off, but the breakouts are not good!

imp2007 · 08/12/2024 15:10

@BakeOffRewatch that's super helpful thank you I will give the good genes a whirl then but start slowly. 🥰

BakeOffRewatch · 08/12/2024 15:10

Dr Sebagh Rose De Vie is a nourishing oil. Sunday Riley Good Genes is an acid. Wouldn’t say the two products are equivalent to each other.

Have a look at the key ingredients and use when you need nourishing or resurfacing.

Wow! I'm so glad I found you all! I had no idea there were two products this morning! Completely missed the bath oil and looking forward to using it over the weekend! x

Me too! I missed the last two days as I was away and opened that drawer again by mistake and the oil was in there!

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 08/12/2024 15:16

Luna oil also caused me to break out so it was a no from me.

However I love Good Genes and use daily so I wouldn't let it put you off.

To be fair I've never had any issues with Sunday Reily products apart from the Luna

Buster27 · 08/12/2024 16:16

Glad to hear lots of positive reviews for good genes, as I still have a smaller bottle from a previous AC to use 🫣

mynameiscalypso · 08/12/2024 16:35

Another fan of good genes here so very happy with this!

imp2007 · 08/12/2024 21:36

Loving all the positivity for good genes - I did have a small pot of afterglow which I used and loved no issues with the brand think it's just the sleeping oil is too strong for my skin. Looking forward to trying now!!

lostonadustyrock · 09/12/2024 06:16

Today’s is something I wouldn’t choose to buy but happy to give it a go.

Also I did a rough add up and I think yesterday was the point where the value of the products so far reached the price of the calendar…… so everything from today onwards is FREEEEEE?

Generally been delighted with the variety of products so far - well worth it for us (same sex couple and if one of us doesn’t like something the other tends to like it which is handy, especially with the perfumes…..).

TheFutureIs · 09/12/2024 07:23

Love todays! Looking forward to trying the liner and the blush is a gorgeous shade!
I'm another who opened 18 instead of 8...... just moved the SR to 18 🤣

allmybooksarefromthelibrary · 09/12/2024 07:55

I like the liner, but I think I've already got the blush from something else in this shade and never used it!

Waffles21 · 09/12/2024 07:55

@TheFutureIs glad not just me!!! I love the blusher too, such a pretty shade, and I know black eyeliners get bad press but I quite like them and this one looks fab! So pleased with this and great to know we’re now getting ‘free’ things @lostonadustyrock 🤣.
This is my first ‘posh’ beauty advent and I love the whole ritual, looking at the calendar makes me happy, opening the drawers gets me excited and the products have been gorgeous, some I maybe wouldn’t have tried/ would buy again but mostly fab! How do the ‘swops’ people mentioned work please? My Bibbi is likely to go that way, it’s just too strong for me smelling the bottle! Is it with people who’ve had other calendars as well?
thanks and happy 9th December!

mynameiscalypso · 09/12/2024 07:57

I haven't used gel eyeliner for a very long time but it's always useful to have one! Happy with the blush too, looks like a really nice colour

secretbumworms · 09/12/2024 08:02

I rarely wear makeup so todays is a bit boring. They look decent though and the blush is a lovely shade.

nearly61 · 09/12/2024 08:23

@Waffles21 Swapping stuff is a brilliant way to make sure everyone gets what they really want! I've just sorted a swap with another lady on here -we pm'd as she had requested a perfume from last year and I had it but don't want it. But often there is a swap thread after Christmas -I really hope that is set up this year as the today's will likely be in there from me looking for a new home.
Having said that it is lovely that the liner and blush are both from fantastic brands -I'll bet they are very good quality and I might crack and use the blush, though I haven't used a powder blush for such a long time -but that colour -just gorgeous...might well make me crack and go for it!

Growlybear83 · 09/12/2024 08:57

I knew there would be some makeup in the calendar but am still disappointed in today's drawer and both items will go straight into the charity bag.

Peridot1 · 09/12/2024 08:59

I knew I wouldn’t be keen on today’s offering when it came around. Black eye line was one of the things I noted on the contents way back when the calendar was first launched. I don’t really do eye liner these days and certainly not black.

Not sure about the colour of the blusher either.

But that’s ok. Knew I wouldn’t like everything!

AnnieFrancais · 09/12/2024 09:08

Loving everything so far ( a few going in kids xmas stockings) but of todays two one has the lid rammed on so tight I can not take it off! I wont say what because its early and people might not have opened yet but I so want to use it /:

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 09/12/2024 09:09

Got to admit, I'm a bit disappointed that the drawer seemed far too big for today's small offerings! Will try the blush, but feel that the packaging is very cheap and flimsy. Not sure about the eyeliner, as I tend to use brown, black is a bit harsh.

AnnieFrancais · 09/12/2024 09:14

I just realised I broke the rules by editing my post, I hope I don't get banned: I then re-edited to take my edit off! what a muddle

It's a slide opening if that makes sense - so you need to push it across to open.
