I personally love this and think it’s really cool, I have friends and clients in their 50’s (I’m 30’s) who would wear this stuff and look amazing

dudsville · 10/11/2024 07:54

Posring to see what others say. I think it's not creative or groundbreaking, but it looks fresh, so I would say not dated. The lines of the clothes and bag look contemporary.

DiscoinFrisco · 10/11/2024 07:55

It looks good i think.

Pottingup · 10/11/2024 07:57

Am mid 50’s and I don’t think it’s dated and is the kind of thing I would wear. I like throwing a blazer on over more casual clothes to give them a bit more structure.

LilacTurtle · 10/11/2024 07:57

Nothing wrong with it.

GoldenSunflowers · 10/11/2024 07:58

It’s fine. I don’t know what you mean by “a look”, it’s just being dressed. I don’t think it makes a particular statement. Apologies if I got this wrong. It’s not dated.

Wegovypictures · 10/11/2024 07:59

Dated, no. But not 'in' or 'classic' either, it's quite a strange combination. The blazer is the problem I think

Neveranynamesleft · 10/11/2024 08:08

Curious as to why you ask ??

Can't go wrong with a pair of cargos

EightAmendment · 10/11/2024 08:19

Thanks you for your replies. So I am concluding that it's a safe outfit. It's just that I have so many blazers and boots, I feel I just need the trousers to recreate the look. I like the ones in the picture but would rather they were less baggy as I am short, and without the pockets. Any recommendations?

@EightAmendment

I asked because I wondered if you were thinking of wearing similar to go to a particular place / event.

Quintette · 10/11/2024 08:22

Looks fab

Myattention · 10/11/2024 08:23

I’m 53 and would wear it, if I could wear black.

If you go tight in the trouser then it could look dated

FlibbertyGibbitt · 10/11/2024 08:28

A looks fab ! Love it with the blazer 🥳

ReformMyArse · 10/11/2024 08:30

Look fresher with bovver boots

Fair enough. I was thinking for an everyday look really. I don't go to events and never ever dress up, but also never dress too casual as I only end up looking scruffy.

I definitely wouldn't want them slim or skinny, but also not baggy as like I said, I am short, only 5.1". I'd also like the trousers to sit above my boots like in the picture. I am a size 10, sometimes 8. The length of the trousers is not usually a problem as that's easily altered. I usually struggle with the crotch area, particularly as so many trousers are high rise these days.

Never heard of bovver boots but I love them. I do need a chunky, platform-like heel though to pull the outfit off nicely, so preferably no less than 2". If you have any recommendations, even though technically I don't need any more boots, I am listening! 😁

TooMuchRedMaybe · 10/11/2024 08:48

I like the look but if you are short then the rolled up trousers are just going to make your legs look even shorter and you’ll look wider. I think flared/wide jeans that go almost to the ground (including the heel) would work better for your height, it will elongate your legs and the flares give you more shape.

Is this a dated look?
PyreneanAubrie · 10/11/2024 08:49

Flat boots always look better with cargo or loose trousers. Bovver boots would be flat lace up like a Doc Marten or similar; they look amazing with trousers like this. Why do you "need" a platform? Heels and cargoes is a bit pop video.

ApolloandDaphne · 10/11/2024 08:50

That's exactly how I like to dress. Unfussy and simple. It can be hard to get clothes like that in nice fabrics sometimes. I'm 62 for reference.

Grepes · 10/11/2024 08:53

The boots make it look a bit dated. The rest of the outfit is fine, not particularly fashionable, but I don’t think it will raise any eyebrows in disgust!

FeistyFrankie · 10/11/2024 08:55

This look isn’t dated, it’s very in right now OP
