I get the dreaded camel toe in every pair of leggings I ever buy and it’s starting to piss me off

I’ve just bought a gorgeous pair of Sweaty Betty power leggings, and was so excited to put them on, but there it is again. It doesn’t matter whether they’re cheap, expensive, what brand, what fabric, it always happens.

it’s not because they’re too small or tight- I’m a size 10 and I’ve bought a high waist pair in medium, they’re actually a tiny bit baggy at the knees. I’m wondering if it’s because I’ve got narrow violin hips but chubby thighs, so they always rub at the top.

The only way I seem to be able to get rid of it is to wear them so low that I get a muffin top and they’re baggy and wrinkled everywhere else. Is there another solution?

Can anyone link the white stuff leggings please

Thischangeseverything · 07/11/2024 20:14

Honestly, I find that rocking a full bush prevents camel toe. Also agree that the seam isn't helping.

rainbowbee · 07/11/2024 20:19

It's that front seam, it would do that to anyone. Get some without the seam and I've heard a pad can stop anything further.

It annoys the hell out of me that women have been conditioned to be ashamed about the natural shape of a part of their body. In close fitting clothes it's going to show!

Do men try and hide their trouser bulge? Absolutely not.

I think if men were going around outlining their meat and two veg in skin tight leggings we’d have to something to say about it!

Freeglader · 07/11/2024 20:22

Try Zalandy ones on Amazon. They’re on sale at the moment, around £20 for three pairs. If they don’t work you can just send them back but they’re my new favourites. They fit really well and feel so soft.

Newsenmum · 07/11/2024 20:24

Leggings don’t work for everyone! May just be that op. Nothing wrong with your body.

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 07/11/2024 19:06

Sweet Lord, just don't wear leggings! The devil's outfit of choice.

This is what I mean. Leggings are horrendous that way.

Shadow1986 · 07/11/2024 20:28

I won’t ever wear leggings with a seam up the middle anymore….no thank you. Try adanola, the seam stops between your legs so there’s no seam at the front therefore no camel toe.
I’ve bought the same leggings multiple times because I now hate every other pair!

Darklane · 07/11/2024 20:29

Happen why through history women always wore skirts.

Guavafish1 · 07/11/2024 20:31

Long tshirt

I have a very fatty labia...there's literally no disguising it! Some of us do unfortunately, and some of us are lucky and have a virtually flat labia. It's the luck of the genes I think! Not a chance in hell I can wear ANYTHING that close to my crotch without having a massive camel toe. Dress to your body shape OP 🤷‍♀️

I don’t think a flat labia is anymore attractive though. Just less likely to show.

Fluufer · 07/11/2024 20:38

That's not camel toe. That's just because of the shape of your hips/thighs. The seam isn't helping though.
Everything isn't flattering for everyone. Either wear something else, or just accept that they aren't the most flattering on you.

3luckystars · 07/11/2024 20:49

Lovall leggings are lovely. Try them in size up and see how you get on. Good luck.

rollerblind · 07/11/2024 20:50

Wear a thin panty liner. Done

Hellisemptyallthdevilsarehere · 07/11/2024 20:52

Leggings are more underwear than they are trousers. Wear something over them and be done with it.

2Sensitive · 07/11/2024 20:55

Your pulling them up too much perhaps x

It’s really beginning to get me down. On the website they’re so lovely and smooth, and admittedly the models are way skinnier than I am, but why are they so completely different on me? I see women in leggings all the time of all shapes and sizes who don’t seem to have this problem.

We are all different shapes and sizes. Maybe leggings just aren't for u x
I'm a size 8/10 but I just don't wear them x

This. Leggings have become ubiquitous of late for women and I don’t understand as they are essentially a long pair of knickers or tights without feet. It actually make me sad that we feel we must wear figure hugging clothes such as these on a regular basis.

My tip, for exercise wear good old fashioned tracksuit bottoms or tracksuit shorts if it’s hot. They don’t have to be baggy or heavy there are some lovely lightweight ones out there.

And day to day wear actual clothes or if you need leggings under something great, use them as tights.

I know many people say they are comfy but there are far more comfortable options out there.

I agree. Men don’t feel they need to wear them.

DaemonMoon · 07/11/2024 21:32

Have women been conditioned to wear them or men conditioned not to wear them ?

As a shortie, they are fab because I can buy the 7/8 ones and not have to faff with getting them turned up. Plus, I like to see the shape of my kicks or yoga poses which I practise through the day while I take a break from my desk.

And they are far better to run in.

I'm wearing leggings right now for comfort. I bought a couple of pairs recently and don't want to take them off. I find jogging bottoms really tricky because I've got chunky legs so what is meant to be baggy is tight and it's not comfortable. We're all different shapes and sizes and different things work. Plenty of men wear skins for football etc rather than joggers.

JawsCushion · 07/11/2024 21:41

Wear a pair of short shirts over them. I appreciate a local man who wears cycling shorts but then baggy shorts on top. I don't want to see his genitalia.

Those leggings are awful! They look awful on the model too

Madlentileater · 07/11/2024 22:11

its not the look that bothers me, its the discomfort!
