Jeans alternative? Something that doesn't press on tummy?

Does the holy grail of a trouser you can wear jumpers/tops with so that your vpl isn't visible but there's no tightness on the tummy exist?

I’ve had a c section. Honestly Spanx trousers are the holy grail of all trousers. They are usually quite high waisted. Thin legs, wide legs, smart trousers, casual trousers, jeans. Winning.

NPET · 05/10/2024 17:55

Maybe chinos or cords. Even Primark have a reasonable collection. Got some loose turquoise cords there years ago, still fit me.

I see the title 'Jesus alternative?' when I see this in the trending topics. Must put my glasses on! Although I would quite like to see the posts in a Jesus alternative thread.

I love these jean joggers from The Meek Boutique. Have four pairs in black & dark indigo - they are comfy and look great in the summer with t-shirts and Converse or in the autumn/winter with jumpers & boots. They also don’t leak colour onto pale sofas/car seats like some jeans do.

How are the lengths on these? I keep seeing them on Facebook!

I've got the M&S trousers above (the £17.50 ones) Have worn a few times, haven't shrunk, but I don't put them in the tumble drier. I'm 5'6'' and they are a good length, wear them with trainers. just bought a 2nd pair actually, have had lots of compliments

This shop does some amazingly comfy trousers and tops which are perfect for being soft around the waist, stretchy and hiding mum tums and buns. They deliver too if you’re not local and are reasonably priced compared to some of the high street brands. No affiliation with them, just love their stuff. There is always something in there that works for me. Great quality too.

I have endo so struggle with anything that feels even slightly restrictive. I wear these which are really comfortable:

https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc144453826

(they also do petite lengths)

For jeans, I have a pair of Levi's 501s which are comfortable. They are fitted at the waist but looser round the belly area which helps. I'm between a 10 and a 12 and the 28 waist fits me.

Thanks for that, just ordered some 💞

sgtmajormum · 05/10/2024 19:05

Have you tried Italian Magic Trousers? They are super stretchy and comfortable.
I suffer from IBS and prone to uncomfortable bloating which magic trousers cope well with.
I've got various colours and some that look like skinny jeans

ThatWardrobe · 05/10/2024 19:13

Managed to get hold of a pair of Ambela jeans, they're really lovely and don't squash you at all. They're mom jeans style and have lots of stretch and feel as comfy as leggings but somehow they're jeans. Do size down if you manage to get a pair, their sizing is massive.

I really want to try them! Just wasn't sure what size so didn't try to order

Only if you want to look like a clown ... 🤡

You pinched my line! I looked at them and thought my goodness, over £100 to look like a clown!
I see the reply but there must be other loose-about-the-middle trousers that don't look like these horrors.

I recently got these from Uniqlo. They are so soft and stretchy, have a gentle waistband and skim over my less than flat tummy! https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/products/E470169-000/00

just to say thank you for suggesting these I bought them in the dark grey and they game today and they’re fantastic. Going to order more colours now!

GreenMarigold · 05/10/2024 20:40

Low rise jeans were the answer for me! No more being cut in half by waistbands!

I just bought some Hollisters and they are super comfy.

Winterjoy · 05/10/2024 21:50

If it's vpl you're trying to avoid them get yourself some of these and wear whatever trousers you want. Comfy as regular pants but zero visibility under any trousers (even tight gym leggings!)

Winterjoy · 05/10/2024 21:53

For trousers these are super comfortable, easy to wear and more substantial than leggings

I ended up selling mine and buying a size down on Vinted. I'll try and remember to report back when they arrive but my actual size was far too roomy.

pollymere · 05/10/2024 23:35

Trousers with a side zip and no pockets.

BooneyBeautiful · 05/10/2024 23:38

I have four pairs of magic pants which I bought off ebay. I wear them all winter as they are so comfortable! Elasticated waist with drawstring. I have short legs so just roll them up at the bottom - due to the style it isn't noticeable.

sweetlikecoffee · 06/10/2024 00:02

I recently bought a two pairs of jeans from shein. I was super sceptical because of the price but they are surprisingly comfortable and seem to be good quality although I’m not sure how durable they will be in the long run. But they fit perfectly and are really stretchy around the waist, not sure about vpl though because I just wear thongs

weirdoboelady · 06/10/2024 00:55

Forget L & Y trousers, and embrace their lovely dungarees! You get used to sliding out of them to go to the loo, honest!

And look, if you are one of these sizes they have one of the really nicest colours on sale....Original - Corduroy Dungarees in Teal – Lucy & Yak (lucyandyak.com)

I wear M&S straight leg joggers almost every day. They look like proper trousers and are smart. I have a nephrectomy scar along my waist so can't bear anything rubbing my waist. I wear a size 16 petite length in navy.

CrazyAndSagittarius · 06/10/2024 03:00

I've taken to wearing maternity jeans and only maternity jeans. They are sooooo comfortable, and you never have a situation where you eat too much and surreptitiously have to undo a button. I have digestive issues and they've been life changing! No stomach pressing m/squashing issues at all. You obviously need to wear a top or jumper that's not too short is the only issue. I'm never going back to normal jeans!

I had the fleece lined ones last winter and they were so comfy but I've tried some of the others and the waistband seems tighter . Really hoping they do the fleece ones again this winter .

Why can't you use last winters ones? Did they only last one winter? 😳

Utterknowitall · 06/10/2024 07:18

I love these:-
https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/products/E471553-000/00
They are like linen trousers, but flannel. They're lightweight but really soft and suitable for the season.
I also think they are nicer in real life than on the web. I'm a 16, with large droopy tummy, and they are super flattering.
