I'm taking a trip to the Mid East and need something conservative. Finding it hard to come upon long sleeve maxi dresses and happened upon this one. Just looking for second opinions :) thx

Sorry but it looks like a dressing gown I’m afraid

JC03745 · 26/09/2024 20:54

Where exactly in the Middle East? Sorry, I do think it looks like a colourful dressing gown 😬

Purplecatshopaholic · 26/09/2024 21:00

Must admit my first thought was dressing gown too - sorry op.

ChangeItAgainSam · 26/09/2024 21:01

Whetr are you going exactly and is it for an occasion?

Washingdamachine · 26/09/2024 21:02

Sorry its giving glamorous granny dressing gown vibes.

Onlyonekenobe · 26/09/2024 21:02

It would work in the Middle East, but my first thought was Kirsty Alsop.

halava · 26/09/2024 21:04

Dressing Gown vibes here also.

There might be shops you can get to (or online) that cater for the Middle Eastern/Turkish/Indian etc. communities, you might get something long sleeved and flowy that suits what you need?

Worth a look anyway. Someone might be able to direct you to suitable outlets.

I think it's a dressing gown

CoffeeGood · 26/09/2024 21:16

Whereabouts in the ME? There is a very wide range of countries covered by the ME and therefore a very wide range of "appropriate" clothing.

DillDanding · 26/09/2024 21:19

Horrid.

DGPP · 26/09/2024 21:20

I love it!

I love it!

I love it too!

Bright and colourful with a nice pattern on it, whilst also being covered up so no skin on show and decent coverage to not offend anywhere you go 👏

I thought of her too.

KlaraSundown · 26/09/2024 21:59

I think it's fine for what you need - as long as the fabric is very lightweight. You'll need something loose like that as you're not used to the heat.

skib · 26/09/2024 22:37

I think it's gorgeous

To those asking, I'm taking a trip to Saudi. So this dress is just for the purpose of being out and about whilst respecting the culture.

That's exactly what I thought too!

It’s the bow round the waist that makes it look like a dressing gown. If you can get rid of the ties and maybe have a buckle belt instead I think it could be nice.
I don’t mind the pattern

Oh I love this idea! Thanks! I think without the belt and some nice heels it could look quite glamourous.

Is it a business trip or holiday?
