Ladies, What Do We Think Of This Dress?

I'm taking a trip to the Mid East and need something conservative. Finding it hard to come upon long sleeve maxi dresses and happened upon this one. Just looking for second opinions :) thx

I've also come upon this dress which is more in line with my personal style while still being covered. What do we think of this option gals? Pretty or no?

I'd say no simply because it would need serious ironing before each wear!

Mummyoflittledragon · 27/09/2024 16:08

Have you bought from this site? The clothes look lovely but the site is from outside the uk, states registered in the Netherlands.

You can still wear swimwear at the beach :) I was in my bikini as were many other women and it was perfectly fine.

Oh that’s interesting.

As for the second dress you’ve chosen, I prefer the first out of the two albeit not keen on either. But with a belt the first would be ok. The second is too full in the skirt, giving me little house on the prairie vibes.

Kirstie Allsopp's dressing gown?

Haha I don't mind ironing :) I iron everything before I wear it anyway.

This is what it looks like on. It's one of my favourite dresses but I totally get it isn't everyone's cup of tea haha

The dress looks better on you than on the model tbh!

But fwiw, I much prefer the first more colourful one you posted in the OP.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 27/09/2024 16:53

I like the first dress, really don't like the second .

Viviennemary · 27/09/2024 16:59

I agree it looks like a dressing gown. And if you want to cover up the neck is far too low. And it look awful. Find something else.

Staunchlystarling · 27/09/2024 17:10

If that’s you in the second dress you are rocking it. And cam do way better than the first.

And unless I'm missing something, blurb doesn't state the fabric or care instructions

What is underneath their abayas?

That's not the OP, is it?

What is underneath their abayas?

It could be PJs, exercise clothes - it all depends on where they are going. 😊

blueshoes · 27/09/2024 21:46

@BlueBirdFly77 @forevernumb thanks for explaining what is under the abayas. I can see an abaya is quite perfect for a school run dress that you throw over whatever you are wearing to dash out of the house.

Isn't it quite hot to wear a full set of clothing under all that abaya fabric in Saudi weather?

Me too! I think it’s gorgeous. I’d definitely wear it! I may even get it, can you share the link OP?
