The annual hunt for a dress like this that doesn’t exist

Honestly, been searching for a dress like this for about 10years… any help you can give is very much appreciated.

I want a dress that is:

Roll neck (proper high polo neck)
Maxi length- no splits
Knitted- in some sort of wool/natural fabric, not polyester or acrylic that gives off sparks
Not ribbed- you’d be surprised how many this rules out!
Black or brown

Is this the year I finally find one..? Probably not 😂

At 20% synthetic, this has got to be the best/only answer a commercial supplier can come up with in OPs budget and actually sell more than 1 unit?

Alternative option given by several posters is to buy the fabric in a wool jersey knit & get on with getting seamstress to make it.

Should be enough budget left for about 4 hours seamstress time if you're in a cheap part of the country. Might realise why the unicorn dress doesn't exist if not?

Alternative is just buy this one that you love, wash it, put on a decent wide hanger. Then roll bottom hem & bulldog clip around a broomstick, and dangle a couple of 2 pint milk jugs off the ends of the stick.

Will stretch to acceptable/desired length while pocketing the £2k difference between this & the dress you actually aspire to ;)

@Usernamenotavailabletryanother - if you can, send for the Nili Lotan; gaze upon it, try it on. Then (if you still love it,) if the cost is impossible send it back and keep an eye out for it on every possible discount / pre-owned site. It’s bound to show up eventually.

I could have sworn I'd seen something that fitted the bill at Johnstons of Elgin, but their dresses don't have roll necks, or at least this year's versions don't. But might be worth keeping an eye on their website for future iterations? (Also not available in black. Also very spendy, similar to the lovely Nili Logan dress posted above).
