The annual hunt for a dress like this that doesn’t exist

Honestly, been searching for a dress like this for about 10years… any help you can give is very much appreciated.

I want a dress that is:

Roll neck (proper high polo neck)
Maxi length- no splits
Knitted- in some sort of wool/natural fabric, not polyester or acrylic that gives off sparks
Not ribbed- you’d be surprised how many this rules out!
Black or brown

Is this the year I finally find one..? Probably not 😂

As someone who knits (but doesn’t take commissions) I’d expect a high price tag on getting this dress commissioned. You’re looking at a significant cost just for enough all natural non-acrylic yarn, before even factoring the time it will take to knit…

Thank you- I am holding out for a wool or cashmere one, but have bookmarked this one just in case the extremely likely possibility of not finding what I want happens again

I just wear the M&S cool comfort slip underneath dresses which have slits or are see through. It gives more flexibility and options to choose from.

Well the 80% acrylic blend that comes in the 400g balls for a dress that size I’d estimate 8-10ish balls? I use two for a jumper and you’d want a lot of skirt, so your looking at a minimum of £80-100 but you need to increase that for all natural fibre, and I doubt you’d easily get that in the 400g balls. Merino for example is probably £4 per 50g so maybe £260 for materials alone?

Found it. It is AMAZING. I’m almost relieved they don’t have a large in stock. I cannot afford £700 😞
