Honestly, been searching for a dress like this for about 10years… any help you can give is very much appreciated.

I want a dress that is:

Roll neck (proper high polo neck)
Maxi length- no splits
Knitted- in some sort of wool/natural fabric, not polyester or acrylic that gives off sparks
Not ribbed- you’d be surprised how many this rules out!
Black or brown

Is this the year I finally find one..? Probably not 😂

I have this dress. It’s by Co Collections and about three years old. (I also have several thousand photos on my phone and couldn’t remember how long I’d had it, so …) As you see, it is undyed wool and has a stand collar rather than a roll neck. Tightly fitted sleeves. Falls away in an A line from the neck - so a completely different shape to any other sweater dress I’ve seen.

I guess the natural wool would take to dye …

But I love it far too much to part with it at any price. (And the size would be wrong!)

I knit and sew my own clothes. You want someone to sew this dress, not knit it. Knitting would take bloody ages and would likely end up chunkier than you want.

You'd need about 4m of fabric and I reckon you could get a nice wool knit for around £20 a metre, maybe a bit more for something fancy.

Then someone to make it, but it's not a complicated pattern so can't imagine it'd be too expensive. I reckon you could do it within budget.
