@IDontHateRainbows how did you get your Space NK calendar already?? It says it's only a pre order just now is that right?

I think the early birds got the worm, my order was placed within 2 hours of launch just got lucky I guess

CalicoPusscat · 14/09/2024 17:57

Have Vogue offered discounts in the past? I quite like it (playing cards and all!) but it's pricey

IDontHateRainbows · 14/09/2024 18:00

Twinsandsome · 13/09/2024 16:15

@IDontHateRainbows sorry do you mean you’ve been able to take the best hits from these calendars and sell the rest of the stuff to in effect have free stuff because you make your money back? If so how on earth I must have been doing it all wrong last year I seen people saying about eBay vinted so the couple of things I didn’t want I tried sticking on there and got like a fiver per item if lucky

Yep that's the aim of the game I am getting far more than a fiver on many items, although by no means close to RRP. But enough to pay back the cost of the calendar minus maybe 5-6 things for myself from each. Or if I can't quite make my money back I'm happy to be £50 or so down for all that booty.

If prices go too low due to oversupply I am happy to stockpile until later I'm the year or next year even.

Currently on my 4th calendar and on track to be making enough money back to pay for them.

I'm glad someone mentioned Next, I think it looks fun! My Lookfantastic one came today!

Out of interest, will you pool all of your best bits into a single calendar or just have it all now?

I'm not the world's most patient person so the things I've creamed off I'll probably open one every few days or one a week if I can hold out, depending on the item eg Moisturiser I'm already half way through a tub so I'll wait til I run out.

Already opened and played with: Lisa edridge lid latex liquid Eyeshadow, too faced eyeliner, la mer lip Volumizer, hourglass tubing mascara, a hair conditioner and a couple of shower gels.

Some things I list to see if I get any takers but if it's not selling easily I'll keep for myself.

I do love my new hobby!

Yes there's a waiting list www.boots.com/no7/no7-waiting-list?srsltid=AfmBOop42qDjWL1wRV4l5WoXZ2GeuG96iEiQDST2m80xE8pOAlmDBwSJ

It looks like there's only 2 this year - smaller one and a bigger more expensive one.

Shame. I'll see what the £60 one contains. I think I only paid about £45 for it last year.

MonkeyTennis34 · 14/09/2024 18:33

I've just picked up my Next AC...it's beautiful!

It comes with a leaflet showing all the products which I'm trying not to peek at.

virgocatlover · 14/09/2024 19:22

@Cyclingmummy1 yes it seems they've all gone up this year

Next does look good but the delivery charge puts me off (I know that's slightly unreasonable). I don't live near a Next to collect from store.

Thread 3 already. It looks like so many have gone for Space NK. I have it too, hopefully there’ll be a lively opening thread!

I also have LF for January.

I was worried I should have got Liberty instead, but I’ve just had a look and there are only 3 or 4 products that I could get excited about. Plus 4 perfumes which are drawers of doom for me!

I don't think so but last year there was a 10% (I think but might be wrong it could have been 5%) cash back through topcashback for Vogue merchandise. Maybe they are doing it again?

CalicoPusscat · 14/09/2024 21:28

@Branster ooh I'll keep a look out! Though I'm moving and you know how expensive that is, so may have to stick with my H&B

sarabaellty237 · 14/09/2024 22:35

yes I have decided to buy them

Thelifeofawife · 15/09/2024 00:57

For those of you who have received your Harrods beauty calendar, how big is the box?

Its currently out of stock online now but I may have an option for someone to collect one for me, but don’t want to ask if it is very big or heavy

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 15/09/2024 01:44

It’s roughly 50 x 45 x 20cms and quite heavy. TBH I wouldn’t be thrilled if somebody asked me to pick one up for them and I wasn’t travelling by car. Presumably there’s a good chance there would be public transport involved for a journey to Harrods.

The Boots Macmillan advent calender is on a special at £44.00 at the moment.
Instead of £90.00.

More basic skincare products than high end luxury....but I am about to run out of loads at the moment...so thought I would give this a go !

@Topsyturvey10 ... might be good for your DM ?

bizzey · 15/09/2024 03:20

Ohh but ..ohh my !
I have just looked at the H&B one !
Oops ..looks like I am getting 2 advent calenders this year 😅😅

EachandEveryone · 15/09/2024 03:45

The macmilkan one has hardly any make up in it compared to last years

bizzey · 15/09/2024 04:01

I think that's why it suits me ...I hardly wear any makeup now .

The make up items were always a bit of a waste .

MrsWidgerysLodger · 15/09/2024 04:14

I've gone for the Elemis one this year. I have enough makeup to last a lifetime and my skin is more ... picky? about what suits it these days. I had a sneaky peek online and most of the products will suit. Those that don't will go into a pamper box I'm making for my friend (January birthday).

bizzey · 15/09/2024 07:07

When do the advent calenders start getting low in stock /out of stock ?

I really want the H&B one...but it might have to wait till next month .

Isabelle70 · 15/09/2024 07:35

Argh my Harrods Fragrance delivery has been put on hold as the shipment contains dangerous goods!
DHL needs to stick ii on the boat to Guernsey not the plane.
Will the most wanted, most travelled calendar ever arrive??

TriciaMcMillan · 15/09/2024 07:52

Joining late and after I've already bought Liberty and Look Fantastic. Have now read all three threads and want more! This is terrible. I've also just seen that ASOS are offering 30% off their calendar already! For £66, I could be tempted. Any thoughts?

CannotBeBothered2025 · 15/09/2024 08:05

I saw a Glossybox unboxing yesterday and they had a code for 10% off - ADVENT10

If anyone was thinking about getting it. It looked pretty decent and would be £75 after the discount.

SmashingGemini · 15/09/2024 08:52

I’ve bought Glossybox with an influencer’s 10% discount (CLAIRE10) for my 26 year old daughter, she will love it. Had to pay delivery though, sadly.

Agree the Boots MacMillan is great value, I’ve bought it for my sister.

Got way too much stuff to justify getting one for myself!

I've only seen 22% off, had a look and even with 33% I'm not sure
Maybe with a higher discount (I think I've changed 😂 a year or so ago I'd have bought it for November!)
