I got an email from Cult Beauty this evening saying the advent was now low in stock so if you want it, I wouldn’t wait.

I thought that might happen once Space NK sold out. I've noticed in the past that once a couple sell out, people rush to get what's left.

@OchonAgusOchonOh

Yes, it's odd. You would have thought that it would be cheaper for businesses to ship to the EU than to the USA and Australia, but maybe it's not. I assume that it must have something to do with the trade agreement. Either it's costly to ship to the EU, or more likely, it's paperwork/admin heavy (which is also costly to a business).

I have heard business grumbling about how complicated it is to ship to the EU now, but I don't know what the specific issues are.

I think that the UK has a free trade agreement with Australia, and some kind of trade agreement with the US, which is likely more favourable than any agreement with the EU. Probably why business are more willing to ship calendars there. I'm no expert on this though.

Ah well. I suppose it saves me money.

Harvey nics is looking nice. Nice range of products.

Talisin · 30/09/2024 09:11

Space NK is back on sale.

Therightcoffee · 29/09/2024 21:12

I might do - I do like future renew but then, there are offers on it most of the time.

Yes exactly, I usually like the smaller calendar but I'm waiting to see the full contents before deciding if it's worth it. The rise to £60 is irritating.

Yes it's an odd one - if it features the type of minis etc they have on deals or freebies through your the year...

Space NK is back on sale.

The website is down for me now, just endless loading whenever I click anything!

OvaHere · 30/09/2024 11:17

I know some of you are building your own advents so that might be a good deal for someone.

Waffles21 · 30/09/2024 13:11

I’m so excited, after lots of reading and considering options I had decided on Space NK but with all of the delays and potential stock issues I decided I’d maybe look in Vinted/ eBay and get the things I wanted. I found somebody who was given the liberty AC as a gift and doesn’t want it. She has great reviews and confirmed it was unopened etc. I got it for £220! I know it isn’t Space NK but to be honest I really wanted that or Fortnums as my first beauty AC so thrilled! Thanks for all of your help and insights, love this thread and excited about joining the opening thread when it arrives!

Birdthatswallowedaplate · 30/09/2024 13:16

Thank you so much the poster who gave the heads up re Space NK being back online. I managed to get the website to work after a bit of faffing. Very excited (this has got to be my biggest luxury purchase ever). Thanks to the Mumsnet advent calendar gurus x

IlovePond · 30/09/2024 14:09

I see SpaceNK is oos again, but the Notify Me button would indicate that they are expecting a restock.

The check in store button has been miraculously restored. Very few left nationwide in store apparently. (I wonder if it was my shout out on here that there were some left in Tunbridge Wells that caused them to sell out there, thereby saving me from a wobble re: not buying it!)

MidnightMeltdown · 30/09/2024 14:15

Space NK have always restocked in the past, but not sure about this year due to the apparent popularity. It never came of pre-order!

IlovePond · 30/09/2024 14:18

Rather sadly I have been watching/rewatching what feels like all the advent calendar unboxing/preview videos on YouTube.

One thing I have found useful is Cosmetopeia’s insistence on dismissing anything not full-size as ‘GWP - not going to count it!’ I have found myself muttering that to myself as I look at the various calendars on offer, (either trying to find one to buy/or attempting to talk myself out of it, depending on how I am feeling in that moment!)

It’s saved me from buying a few candidates so far, (although I do still like SpaceNK).

Therightcoffee · 30/09/2024 14:56

Same - and some of these minis, you're talking about two days worth of product and that's it! I've been going through my stash of GWP serums, creams etc and you're talking 2- 3 days out of many of them...

virgocatlover · 30/09/2024 14:59

Sadly Sephora has increased the price of the green Rituals to £91.90 (it was around £79). I was thinking of getting it but won't now, maybe it was a mid-price

I meant mis-price!

I agree about the tiny sizes, the 24 day Boots calendar is full of minis.

Bumping to keep thread 3 active. There's still 30 posts to go, I'm sure we can fill it by the end of the day!

I'm on a mission to use up my minis. Although I used a different day cream today (Cult 51! Expensive) and my makeup had rubbed off my face by teatime. Not a fan.

In other news, I've made £30 on Vinted this week selling a perfume and lipstick I'd never use! So thanks for the tips. I'm not comfortable buying off Vinted, but all in favour of selling. I have a few more bits on there not shifting at all, it does seem to be a balance between pricing to sell, and it not being worth your while. Like I have a CT lipstick up. I won't sell that for less than about £10, otherwise I may as well use it.

BakeOffRewatch · 30/09/2024 15:54

Agree re minis. I have a Sisley eye cream in a tiny foil pack. Was it from the Liberty beauty drop box? What will I get out of a 1 or 2 use eye cream? I hate the foil packs too as can’t seal between uses.

MiaN · 30/09/2024 16:00

The advent calendars are better now!

virgocatlover · 30/09/2024 16:01

@JudgeBurrito what postage did you use on Vinted? I think it will only let me use RM for perfume which is a bit of a faff.
