How do you dress to look slightly saucy at a 14 + not tarty
For a dinner date

No, just you. I meant wobbling while walking in the heels that I mentioned, as OP is usually in baggy gardening gear. And I presume, maybe wrongly, she doesn't spend her days gardening in high heels.

Nobody's Child "Saucy Wench" dresses. Also known as Starlight. I've got a green cord long sleeved version. The Starlight dress and the Klements dresses are the only suggestions I would wear. The Roman dress is ok, but it's an everyday dress.

I would go for a simple silhouette and an attention grabbing material like silk, in either black, champagne or a deep red.

You’re missing my point I think. Personally I’m not someone who would wear something just because it’s supposedly in fashion if I don’t like the style (or it doesn’t suit me). I’m not arguing that kitten heels are in fashion. I’m saying they are unflattering to the calf. For this reason, I’d avoid them. And I wouldn’t recommend them to 5’4 OP either.

Bringing this back to OP, it’s how she wants to feel. She hasn’t said she wants to feel fresh off the catwalk, she wants to feel “saucy”! Maybe kitten heels do that for her in which case, good luck to her. If she likes “clumpy” block heels, that’s great too.

I think some of the dresses recommended on here have been great choices and I’d love to know what she thinks.

I'm the same shape/size as you and find that swing/trapeze dresses skim over my tummy and make me feel less concious of it. If you Google "evening swing dress' things like this come up - flattering for tummy but quite sexy with hints of babydoll (hate that word!) nightie...?

Due to shopping time constraints i went for a black jumpsuit, new earrings and necklace , tried desperately to find a silk shirt but couldnt, added a silky cardi

He's popping in tomorrow for a coffee

This. Pencil skirts are awful and you can’t walk properly in them. Kitten heels are ridiculous.

That Roman dress is not saucy. As PP said, floral isn’t saucy and it is a day dress.

I like the silk shirt, jeans and boots/shoes suggestion.

They don't look particularly saucy wench on the models but in reality if you have biggish boobs they very much are!

It's crap like that that makes me think I should design clothes. It is so shapeless and both patterns are hideous. Completely unflattering. I could definitely come up with something that bad. Also TWO HUNDRED and SEVENTY FIVE quid????

I know!! Did you see that astounding similar thread on here a few weeks ago? Someone asking for recommendations for date attire? As well as shapeless stuff and full on evening gowns, someone linked a full length pink leather column thing. Honestly the most hideous garment I've ever seen. I still sometimes giggle to myself when it crosses my mind.
