Now that would get her laid…
on a plate of chips!

Tell us what youre wearing my op!

Pencil skirt, tucked in top, high heels

Preferably black

Don't do this OP, he'll think he's at an interview.

Knickerknack · 11/09/2024 18:15

If you have good boobs I'd say longline blazer with lacy vest, and some tall black heels. I think the shoes and underwear-like top will give you the feeling of sauce that pretty dresses won't.

Ophy83 · 11/09/2024 19:39

Size 14 and fat here! I have the nobody's child dress featured above in blue, and also a short version with long sleeves in dark green cord. My husband loves them, refers to them as my "saucy wench" dresses as they very much emphasise the bust! So if that's the look you're wanting I can recommend. I'm also a fan of a silk top, wide leg trousers and a leather jacket when going out for dinner

Do you have pictures/links?

Unsurprisingly I love that. The tortoise shell version does look like fire- quite extraodinary.
The wisteria version is gorgeous too.
Klements Morhav Wisteria dress

Nice but not saucy.

Hoolihan · 11/09/2024 19:44

I think the Nobody's Child dress is great. Also a lot to be said for texture - wearing silky/floaty or very soft fabrics is really appealing and 'touchable'. So maybe a silk/satin shirt or a gorgeous cashmere knit.

Mumofmarauders · 11/09/2024 19:46

There's a clothes label called Miss Candyfloss (ignore the silly name!) which I think is so flattering and feminine (I'm a size 12 and their medium is a bit big on me), I only have one of their dresses because I think they're a little bit too sexy for my usage (wearing to work), have a look at their website or on Vinted and maybe you'll see what I mean. They're modern clothes but with a classic 50s style silhouette which is so flattering for those of us with a bit more scoot in our boots.
Enjoy your date! Hopefully you've also had lots of fun deciding what to wear so it's a winner before you even turn up 😊

StMarieforme · 11/09/2024 20:12

This is gorgeous. Sexy classy and flattering.

coxesorangepippin · 11/09/2024 20:14

Yeah, that'll get you laid.

^

This does seem to be the crux of the matter. Op said saucy.

You don't want to look like Ma Larkin unless you're on a date with Pa Larkin

Newsenmum · 11/09/2024 13:44

I can’t be the only one who doesn’t like the Roman dress? I think florals can look ageing especially if you’re on the bigger size. It’s also not especially saucy?

Would t look good on a bigger tummy area either.

That’s what I mean! Some of these suggestions don’t actually look good on a big stomach.

Haggia · 11/09/2024 17:19

Nah. Most men may call a spade a spade and a tent a..tent!

(Or a naff curtain, just saw pp)

Also, they’d be staggered that their date paid nearly £300 for a tent/curtain I think.

Edited

I'd be pretty "staggered" at any bloke who thinks his opinion on what is an acceptable amount I should pay for a dress is anything I'd pay the slightest attention to. And if he volunteered that £300 is too much there wouldn't be a second date.

I love that @mumstheword001
I'm a similar height and size to @pnutter and that style really suits my frame. Plus it is a gorgeous dress 🤩

itsmeagainagain · 11/09/2024 21:07

I would wear something like this I think

Haggia · 11/09/2024 21:12

@IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle

Good for you. I hope you have many successful first dates.

My husband of twenty years is definitely the super honest “fuck me they saw you coming” variety! Makes me laugh every day though and I always know what’s what 😂

goingdownfighting · 11/09/2024 21:19

Don't concentrate so much on what to wear as to the whole look.

clean fresh shiny hair, skin, teeth. Pretty jewellery and smell good.

Wear what makes you feel sexy - it will show, I promise.

Perhaps a sheer blouse with a cami underneath? With whatever feels smart and comfy on the bottom?

Haggia · 11/09/2024 21:23

YaWeeFurryBastard · 11/09/2024 15:07

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree there. Plenty of my very stylish contemporaries feel the same, they are the height of naff and early 2000s. If you mean low block heels then they’re fine, but the “traditional” mini stiletto kitten heels are as awful as they always have been.

They are so unflattering to the calf as well.

blueberrycherubandbump · 11/09/2024 21:31

How about a simple pleated midi dress and a pair of comfy heels. Very flattering and a bit silky/sexy without feeling like you're trying to hard.

You're still confusing "I don't like this" with "what is in fashion"

If you , general you, are going to talk about "flattering" shoes personally I think clompy, clumpy, high heels are as unflattering as it's possible to get.
