I can remember really liking Boden and saving up to buy some pieces, I had the most stunning summer dress from them one year . People would stop me in the street to ask where it was from. I think if I stepped out in some of this new stuff, people would stop me in the street to ask if I was ok

I suspect the Boden management team feel like it’s 1997 because Labour are back in and oasis are touring etc, and are trying to recreate Cool Britannia, blissfully ignorant of the true “vibes”, “feels” across the country and challenges Keir and co are confronting. Even more ironic that it’s cheap made in China tat that wouldn’t look out of place in Matalan. What a decline of a brand!!

The black flat shoes are fine! I’m not into flags so won’t go there. Plus this isn’t a nod to the 80s. Having been very keen on fashion in the 80s, this wasn’t it. It’s a bit Gerri H if anything or the Bay City Rollers.

I have decent wool trousers by Boden and a Moon Yorkshire Mills tweed coat too. Those were the days!

I quite like the tartan dress, it’s just the polyester I don’t like. And the silver trousers too- I actually really like that they are called PU trousers. Every time I see ‘vegan leather trousers’ or vegan leather anything my eyes roll involuntarily and I think you mean plastic, it’s refreshing to see this honesty.

It’s definitely a bit Four Weddings … When I was about 22 (mid eighties) there was a lot of houndstooth check and the odd kilt about plus jumpers with shoulder pads, not Union Jack ones.Tartan tights were late 70s and possibly as late as 1980. I had a cover of TV Times showing ITV series Cats Eyes with Leslie Ash wearing Tartan tights.

If you want tweed and more timeless there's a great shop in Edinburgh I buy from (does mail order) that's similarly priced but designed and made in Scotland! Wouldn't buy any of what boden offers now

Oh dear. When I hear the word “Boden” I feel nostalgic for my baby DCs and that discount code that always gave £10 off a £30 spend. Now my DCs are 18 and 15 and any time I leave through a Boden catalogue its through my fingers
