I hate dresses, so I really want some sort of pantsuit or jumpsuit. But it's going to still be fairly warm (September) so I don't really want to wear a jacket. I'm a size 18, would this be appropriate?

No that colour is not suitable

GettingStuffed · 29/07/2024 17:53

This is blue although it looks black in the photo , the only issue seems to be it's not the easiest to get out of in a hurry. Although they all say it's worth it.

That's a great choice and would be flattering in a bigger size.

I think you need to be tall and willowy to carry that off, to be honest. I'm a size 18 too and that would do me no favours.

No you don't need to be "tall and willowy" - that get's trotted out for almost everything.

With the jacket , yes I don't see an issue. You clearly aren't the bride- no one is going to be confused My reservation is it looks cheap- a better quality 3 piece suit in that style might be a better option.

The navy Monsoon jumpsuit alternative is horrendous. Despite my reservations about quality I'd take this any day over the Monsoon jumpsuit.

Not a fan, sorry. Too white and too casual.

Don’t like the Monsoon jumpsuit either, sorry. 🙈

Not helpful am I really… 🤷‍♀️🤣

Freesiabritney · 29/07/2024 19:44

I don't think it's wedding appropriate, sorry! But this is nice?

@C0rdeliaChase let us help you 🤗 what are your favourite colours? What styles do you like? You could even send a few pictures of your favourite outfits on you if you like?

Spendysis · 29/07/2024 19:48

Sorry I agree with others although I like the outfit it’s to casual and to close to white for a wedding

Myfirstbornisacollie · 29/07/2024 19:51

Phase eight jumpsuits are smart and flattering
how about something like this?

Would a jump suit work with numerous trips to the loo?

JLT24 · 29/07/2024 20:30

Too casual and also it’s not good etiquette to wear white to a wedding. The phase 8 printed one is lovely with a white or black jacket.

I have not read the full thread, so am not sure what sort of wedding is planned, but the trouser suit in the picture looks suitable for going out for lunch on holiday in a hot country, not a wedding.”

I don't think it's too casual, especially with a jacket for the ceremony, but the colour is a no no. I'm surprised you even have to ask. What about this?

I follow Rantsandbigpants on Instagram and she has some lovely outfits for a size 18. You may get some inspiration from her?

Best suggestion by a country mile.

Easily best in thread so far. Stylish, elegant and a little different too.

A couple of links on here have made me gasp in horror tbh.

That was a gasp of horror for me.

Well there we go. Ha ha. Taste is so subjective.

DGPP · 29/07/2024 20:53

Far too casual, sorry
