Marc Jacobs tote bag

What do you think about the Marc Jacob’s tote bag. Are they a bit chavvy or are they tasteful. My normal bag of choice is the Mulberry Alexa but I’m after something a bit lighter to take on holiday.

Which one? Need image of a specific bag to be able to judge.

It's been done to death. I wouldn't get one now
I probably never would have but I really wouldn't get one now. They are past it

narniabusiness · 29/07/2024 10:56

They look really useful for holidays, roomy and not too heavy. I would quite like one myself but, I wouldn’t go as far as saying chavvy, let’s just say they are a bit of a younger woman’s bag.

JimNast · 29/07/2024 13:45

You can get a decent bag for life for about £2 if you want to be a walking advert.

ApoodlecalledPenny · 29/07/2024 13:56

I quite like the shape, but the writing really puts me off

twilightcafe · 29/07/2024 14:04

Chavvy - and too many nasty knock-offs available.

Checkthemeaning · 29/07/2024 14:06

I have it and I absolutely love it! It's thick heavy material so I can just chuck around & it's fine. Mine is the medium so I can wear it cross body too! It also holds a lot!!

Purplecatshopaholic · 29/07/2024 14:12

I love it. Considered it then went for a something else. Good size, looks sturdy, can be cross-body or other ways. I’d go for it

fortheveryfirsttime · 29/07/2024 15:53

I quite like them. They have some in TK Maxx at the moment.

masomenos · 29/07/2024 15:55

Teens around my parts were wearing knock-offs this time last year. They're well and truly over.

Also, I would expect to be paid to advertise for someone, not pay to advertise.

AngryLikeHades · 29/07/2024 15:57

I couldn't wear a logo that big.

CraftyNavySeal · 29/07/2024 15:58

Whenever I see one of these I assume it’s fake because who would pay £££ for a shopping bag, even though I think they’re cute

CharmingGeorge · 29/07/2024 16:00

Have you considered a longchamp pliage instead? They hold a lot and are incredibly lightweight! Ideal holiday bag. I actually use a large one as a nappy bag now too. The backpacks are great too they hold more than you might think.

TheGirlattheBack · 29/07/2024 16:23

Aspinal of London do a similar bag but without the giant logo!

That’s much nicer than the jacobs bag.

I have some Le Pliage bags but don't get the MN love for them.

snowballsintheoven · 29/07/2024 16:32

I have one Blush

I love it

Also nice but a very different bag to me.

ClaraLaraBow · 29/07/2024 16:42

I love the Aspinal one. I also saw some lovely bags in this style but without writing in Russell and Bromley. Think the Aspinal one you linked is nicer though.

Even if you were coming in at the first 5 seconds of the trend, the ASpinal one is a better buy (imo)

DTisawazzock · 29/07/2024 16:50

Gosh, they are really horrendous IMO.
