Created with my eyes shut as I'm impatiently waiting for my box!

Not selling but buying. A few times I’ve bought duplicates of products I particularly like. I never bid on anything on eBay, if it’s not buy now I ignore it. Prices tend to be lower on Vinted. There’s always an over supply initially then the rush dies down.

I sell on ebay. Most things sell eventually, so long as I'm lowest price. Usually make my money back +some freebies to keep.

HellsBells67 · 31/08/2024 17:31

@WeAreBorg thank you SO much for the candle and chocolate! I would have dm'd you but it now won't let me do anything at all. I'm in Manchester for the weekend so my dh sent me a pic of the parcel and then opened it and ds ate the chocolate! 😂

WeAreBorg · 31/08/2024 23:42

Glad it all arrived safely @HellsBells67 !

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/09/2024 00:10

The Liberty calendar really is a thing of beauty!
Had a quick check to make sure all contents are correct & now I've put it away until December 1st

dinghymum · 01/09/2024 14:17

My liberty calendar has arrived and is lovely! I had a sneaky peek at the contents before putting it away until 1 December. I did see that I have the lipstick in shade reunion ( box13).
That colour is a bit orange for me ( I'm very pale). If anyone with red blue would like to swop just let me know.

SoloCat · 01/09/2024 16:52

BakeOffRewatch · 27/08/2024 21:53

I got an “It’s (almost) time!” email telling me to watch out for a dispatch email between 27th August and 3rd September, but not an actual dispatch email. I’ll check the contents, ask again here is anyone wants to swap my drawers of doom (the Granado and Liberty candles and OTO pillow spray). I wouldn’t mind collecting the Byredo lipstick colours for example, or swapping for something from beauty kits or another AC. Then I’ll put it away and forget about it, whilst perusing other ACs and waiting for bargains and probably never buying.

Probably the next part of my post is more for the other AC thread - as there’s been more reveals I’m really happy with the Liberty AC. Partly that’s down to it being my first one ever. I really like that they went actually full size on the full size, rather than available to buy so we say it’s full size. The Sunday Riley in the Liberty is 30ml, in the Cult Beauty it’s 15ml. There’s one eyeshadow in a colour I’ll use up, rather than a mini palette. There’s an eye cream I can actually use enough to see if there’s a difference. I don’t really want 15ml or 7ml of any skincare, even if they’re things I want to try or are very pricey.

I burned the Herlum “Comfortable Silence” candle today, can’t remember where I got it (just checked it’s the Liberty Says Relax Kit https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/liberty-says-relax-kit-R507262006.html) to try to get into candles and see if my DoD can be salvaged. I don’t get it! I can barely smell it and it takes ages to diffuse. I’d much rather have a Bamford or Olverum bath oil with a strong smell and enjoy the smell around me afterwards. Is that just a poor candle and I should keep trying?

I recently tried my Liberty Hera candle, tiny size and the scent throw was as good as Dyptique. Quite impressed, maybe hold onto the candles in the calendar and try them.

SoloCat · 01/09/2024 17:15

Thank you @paristotokyo for the perfume ❤️

Just need to get Wild Rosinda now.

CocoMascara · 01/09/2024 19:31

Can anyone remember when they last got vouchers? I was due one, but can’t seem to remember that I received it, and can’t find the paper one…

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/09/2024 19:46

I too have the Byredo Lipstick in Reunion (unopened) & would prefer the Red & Blue if anyone wants to swap now?

BakeOffRewatch · 01/09/2024 19:49

That’s interesting that all three of us got Reunion. Red and Blue is the one I would have wanted too!

paristotokyo · 01/09/2024 21:17

@SoloCat you're welcome ❤️ I love wild rosinda a lot even though I'm not usually a rose fan

LittleBearPad · 02/09/2024 07:26

I know this is a spoilers thread but it feels a bit off to be opening, debating and swapping the contents of the advent calendar on 1 September.

BakeOffRewatch · 02/09/2024 09:09

People are checking the contents, as past years (and this year already) there’s been damaged boxes, leaking products or missing products. We’ve been debating the contents since they were released in June to Beauty Drop members, and want to swap before we put them away and forget about them ready for December.

What’s with the recent spate of comments about how we go about beauty ACs? They’re not really sacrosanct festive celebrations, it’s a quite pricey purchase. It’s not like we’re fighting in the entrance hall of Harrods on launch day … 😉

For most people it's a lot of money to spend on an item and they won't buy them blind like a cheaper advent calendar. I would want to know and then check over the contents, especially as people have had missing or damaged items. And swapping now before you open it up properly in December seems like the clever option as you can use the items straight away.

listsandbudgets · 02/09/2024 12:00

I love the GWP. The bag is beautiful and there are some brilliant products. The candle is going to SIL for Christmas as she loves the "smoky' scents. The make up and Paula's Choice went to my delighted dd and I've got everything else to play with. Just about to run out of conditioner and serum so it all came at a very good time.

I got the Maze perfume which I'm pleased about as I did like the sample we received.

The mango perfume rather reminds me of the one that Body Shop did in the 1980s.. makes me feel like a child again 😀Have to say though I've got so many perfumes that it's quite rare for me to actually finish one as i tend to use a different one most days

WeAreBorg · 02/09/2024 17:46

I love all the advent spoilers - helps make an informed decision about which one to buy, then by December comes I’ll have forgotten what’s in it so a lovely surprise
Who would buy one blind??

Bimblesalong · 02/09/2024 18:16

I absolutely love the ds & Durga perfume - can’t recall if it was the gifts or gwp. I loved their candle in one of the previous sets so they’re obviously a scent range I’m in tune with!

wheresmyshoe · 02/09/2024 18:28

I'm the same @Bimblesalong I definitely need to explore the range.

paristotokyo · 02/09/2024 18:29

I'm selling mine @Bimblesalong as I just can't get on with it! Was surprised to see that 10ml bottle was worth £75

Bimblesalong · 02/09/2024 18:30

@wheresmyshoe i feel that I need a Time Machine back to NY in a 70s end of summer, blue sky, link chain fence around a basket ball pitch and the river in the background.

WhoaJayShettybambalam · 02/09/2024 18:32

@WeAreBorg I do (kind of). Dh gets it for me each year and I try to hide away from spoilers. It’s really hard not to look (especially as I had to hide it this year as it came while he was away).

SoloCat · 02/09/2024 19:00

I don’t particularly like the DS&Durga Debaser I had in the last kit. I had it previously and gave it to my DH, so will look to sell this on as he hasn’t really used it either.

listsandbudgets · 02/09/2024 22:03

@CocoMascara I got my last voucher on 1st July.

It's confusing because they remove the points about a month before they issue the vouchers so the voucher I got was so far as I could tell for points from March May and should be getting a voucher in October for points from June to August

I just got a £5 birthday voucher to use by the end of the month I'm not sure if I'll get round to using it as not much I need

listsandbudgets · 02/09/2024 22:04

@SoloCat I didn't like it either until I tried it on a cold day - I don't feel like it's a warm weather perfume

I always use my £5 birthday voucher towards a new Liberty Christmas tree decoration every year.
