I love all the advent spoilers - helps make an informed decision about which one to buy, then by December comes I’ll have forgotten what’s in it so a lovely surprise
Who would buy one blind??

There’s a difference between looking at the contents to choose which calendar to get and debating and swapping the contents three months before advent.

I’m not a new poster on these threads and nothing I have said is against talk guidelines let alone ‘not in the spirit’.

@SoloCat I didn't like it either until I tried it on a cold day - I don't feel like it's a warm weather perfume

Thanks for that, I’ll have a try again when it’s a bit colder. 😊

Are the boxes due in October? Hope the next one is as good as the last. I’ve used up all of the Granado perfume, the shampoo and conditioner I really like too.
I luckily have a second perfume from the scent kit.

I always use my £5 birthday voucher towards a new Liberty Christmas tree decoration every year.

I love this! What are the decorations like? I always look at them online but I was unsure if they were worth the price. I don't live close to London and avoid it during the Christmas shopping season.

Housewife2010 · 03/09/2024 11:34

They're lovely. With free p&p from The Beauty Drop it's a great way to use up your voucher. I think they're about £10+. I'd expect the Liberty Christmas shop to open soon. I think they may have a few Christmas tree decorations already.

@Housewife2010 What a lovely idea. I think I'll go and take a look at them online right now and choose something.

I believe the next box is due in October @SoloCat - I am also hoping for a good one. I've almost finished the shampoo and conditioner and have been using the eye patch every night almost since we got the box. I love it so I bought another from Vinted last night. I hope they decide to send us something else from the new lbty range in October

Housewife2010 · 03/09/2024 12:01

@listsandbudgets I've just had a look on Liberty. They have some baubles now, but I'm expecting them to get loads more in. I got a fabulous bauble of Dorothy's red shoes a couple of years back from there.

Witsend2023 · 03/09/2024 15:32

Oooh I've never had a birthday voucher!! I wonder why? The decorations sound lovely.

I'm also really pleased with the GWP, only thing i won't use is the retinol as I use tret. Felt like a real treat

D20 · 03/09/2024 16:02

I’ve resubscribed. Fingers crossed for the last beauty drop box ahead of Octobers box.

Oceangreyscale · 04/09/2024 16:35

Sooo. I was about to ask for the advent calendar for Christmas, I've bought it twice before. But then thought, maybe I'm best asking for the beauty box subscription and using the credit on the calendar next year.

Presumably you are all happy with the subscription and feel it's worth it? I guess it works out to be £60 for the four boxes and the other £240 is credit you can use on other things.

As I haven't had the boxes I haven't followed all these threads, but would welcome views on whether you'd generally recommend signing up. I've definitely enjoyed the calendars before, although the cost is high I've found some great products.

I'm happy with it. I did stop for a while but when they advertised the calendar at a lower price for beauty drop members I re subscribed

They seem to have upped their game on the last box.

BIossomtoes · 04/09/2024 18:29

The last box was really good. I was planning on using my current £200+ credit on the calendar but it’s not doing it for me. Looks as if I’ll spend it on scent now. Probably just as well with my Frederic Malle addiction.

Superworm24 · 04/09/2024 19:33

I loved the last box. I always know someone that I can gift the bits I won't use to but I see plenty on eBay and vinted. I was going to cancel because pre admin fees I thought the boxes weren't worth it anymore and it felt stale, but they do seem to be on the up and I am hoping we get more lbty products to try.

The main downside for me is that they don't always have the stock in when I want to purchase and the price isn't always that competitive. But if you want the advent calendar it's definitely worth the £60.

paristotokyo · 05/09/2024 21:20

Anyone here love the lbty aldephi sun fragrance we got in the kit? I'm not a fan at all and would be happy to sell/swap if there's any takers

Jellywobblescobbles · 06/09/2024 12:05

I only joined about a fortnight ago and got this box this week! I wasn't expecting anything yet. it all looks lovely and decent quality!

Its my first Liberty box but definitely the best beauty box I have had in terms of quality products. No duds for me - I will make sure to use them up now though rather than leave just for travel.

listsandbudgets · 07/09/2024 15:05

Brilliant just given the tanning drops from last box away to one of DD's friends. She's really pleased with them... I'm glad to see the back of them... win win

Very useful having an 18 year old DD and her tribe of friends about at times.

it was such a good box. I've nearly finished shampoo and conditioner, half way through the eye cream, started using the perfume but still have the Sisiley Black Rose and the little tube of OUAI shower gel unopened - they've quite small so gone strait into my travel washbag now I just need to go away.

I've started the Skin Rocks serum from GWP but not got into any of the other stuff YET... I want to finish the things I'm already using first

Really hoping for another great box in October

BakeOffRewatch · 10/09/2024 10:59

I was signed up to Beauty Drop as soon as I could as you had to sign up to wait list. Can’t remember when my first box was. I unsigned last autumn as the boxes seemed like filler clearance items. I think the best box was still the very first one with the bag, I was sorry to miss out on that. It seems like they had a settling in after raising price to £25 and crediting only £20. I signed up again for the advent calendar and really happy with the July box. I think I’ll continue, but if the October box is disappointing I’ll cancel again. I’ll use the credit at Christmas and in sales. I’ll be judging the boxes by whether I’d pay £15 for them and if I get £15 of use.

I’ve removed items from my drawers of doom and the calendar is in the cupboard ready to be forgotten about and I am excited about the opening threads in December! I’ve asked DH to fill the empty drawers with something from their beauty hall, he knows my fav brands and they’re really good in store at recommending shades if he shows a photo of me. I have terrible eyesight and the numbers are hard to read on the doors so I won’t know which day is an alternative.

@SoloCat i might do, I think I am approaching candles wrong, they’re different to bath oils or body moisturisers. I tried one of this year’s advent candles whilst I was in bath and didn’t think much, I couldn’t smell it over my face mask, though it was a lot better than Herlum Comfortable Silence. I am now lighting one whilst my toddler bathes and then it has set the ambience for my one whilst I remove makeup. I went somewhere posh last weekend where you walked in and their candle just set the mood. I just can’t see myself leaving a candle burning whilst in post partum haze with newborn and toddler though. I’ve been waking 5 times in the night recently so been using the pillow mist, really helps me meditate and breathe back to sleep quickly each time. Still VERY pregnant here. Having a daily bath.

Do you think we’ll get a good September beauty kit? I’m looking forward to hopefully a skin edit and a bath and body care edit. Usually you’d get a good autumn one but maybe they’re all focused on AC advertising now - which I’m done with. Liberty usually do a woo one in October with crystals. Cult Beauty have teased and opened a wait list for Skintellectuals edit and CBxSali Hughes edit, hope Liberty do similar. Though I won’t be interested in Skin Rocks/Caroline Hirons.

I have received July’s box after resubing last week if anyone is thinking of doing that. My plan is to see what the next one is like and decide from there what my plan is (and have a bit of money saved up for sales).

CocoMascara · 10/09/2024 20:42

I’ve just recieved my box today after resubscribing too! I cancelled when the price increased and then joined again when I decided I wanted the advent. Very pleased with this box and love the perfume, so glad I resubscribed.

listsandbudgets · 14/09/2024 16:24

Has anyone else noticed that orders are finally being wrapped in bubble wrap as well as the brown paper? I assume that they were paying for too many breakages and leaks. It's certainly an improvement.

I will be interested to see whether this extends to the next BD

supadupapupascupa · 14/09/2024 20:46

New kit coming out! Teaser on insta!

wheresmyshoe · 14/09/2024 21:04

Thanks @supadupapupascupa I've attached the best screenshot I could manage. There's a gua sha on the right.
