Politics aside, but is this hideous and not best for her frame, or is it me?^^

I think the patterns are too overwhelming for her frame and she could have chosen something with the same colours but more delicate stripes or maybe solid

And white shoes?

Shut up about what I’m wearing. This is not about me (or even about her as such) but about the dress

And I’m wearing old pijamas right now but I’m not the richest person in the world standing for pictures, am I?

Just wow, shame on you. Sorry she didn’t dress to your personal taste.

Eeeden · 07/07/2024 10:21

I don't normally notice what people are wearing. I noticed and remembered this dress. She looks stunning in it.

VirginiaGirl · 07/07/2024 10:22

I thought she looked beautiful.

Corinthiana · 07/07/2024 10:22

Thank you, @DollopOfFun ! Louise Haigh. I thought she looked great. That bright hair and the green trousers. A strong, colourful look

I'm sure she's a lovely person but that dress is awful. If Sunak wore the equivlant fabric in a suit he'd look like a clown.

Such a silly comment, you seriously think women should only wear dresses made out of suit fabric?

CelesteCunningham · 07/07/2024 10:23

I really liked it - it fit her well, was weather appropriate and has nods to both the union jack and her Indian heritage.

But then I really liked Angela Rayner's green suit so my opinion is clearly worthless. Grin

DeerOhDear · 07/07/2024 10:23

I really like it.
It's very much a statement dress isn't it rather than a slinky one and it's a union Jack. I thought it was perfect.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 07/07/2024 10:24

That dress annoyed me as the stripes didn’t match up everywhere and it broke the lines of the dress. They matched in some places, but not all of them and it did my head in.

l used to be a designer/pattern cutter and l would have made the stripes match everywhere. It would have flowed much better.

Myblindsaredown · 07/07/2024 10:24

I just don’t get why some women feels the need to attack other women. Bring them down. That was a tough day for her, she looked lovely, elegant, demure. Her dress sense is her choice, and not something to attack over.

Corinthiana · 07/07/2024 10:24

Angela Rayner wore bright green as well. The style wasn't to my taste, but I do admire her as a person.

JanefromLondon1 · 07/07/2024 10:25

Because she likes it and it's her choice what to wear.

WhereDoWeGoFromHereHmmm · 07/07/2024 10:25

I love it! She looks fantastic.

Also they are mega rich but she's quite a long way off being the richest person in the world.

😂not worthless! Just different. We're discussing style, nothing more.

hby9628 · 07/07/2024 10:26

I couldn't get away with it but I really like it on her.

TemuSpecialBuy · 07/07/2024 10:27

💯 yes

i I can find about two outfits max where she is well dressed.

given she is thin and has alllll the money I don’t understand it.

I think we are discussing an iconic dress rather than attacking her as a person.

So it’s a discussion on aesthetics not her.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 07/07/2024 10:28

It's not at all to my taste. I dislike most prints, and I don't like high necked or tiered dresses. I don't really think it suited her either, as it was a bit too much for her frame. But that's me thinking about it this morning having read this thread and looked at the pictures. She can wear what she likes!

Corinthiana · 07/07/2024 10:28

I find the whole style thing fascinating.
Keir went for a very dark navy, single breasted suit, well cut. Ed Miliband, too, although as men it's commented on less of course. It's interesting how people present themselves through clothing.

Samanabanana · 07/07/2024 10:28

Beautiful dress. Bold, contemporary and on point. Unlike any Tory policies Grin

NeverDropYourMooncup · 07/07/2024 10:29

It's the most unflattering photo that you've chosen. The ones where she's walking with him and smiling look completely different - as they would for anybody else.

Notgivingup54 · 07/07/2024 10:06

If only women could get past criticising each other.

And constantly talking about looks. How many times have posters mentioned how attractive she is? That is not what is being discussed, her dress is, which by the way was perfectly fine, I think. I really liked the dress that she wore on polling day, but I have not seen a thread about that. I would like to know where she got that lovely dress from.

SpareHeirOverThere · 07/07/2024 10:31

She looked like a grown woman who likes bold fashion. A woman who knows her own mind. And a woman who was asked to stand awkwardly with an umbrella behind a husband who had just crashed and burned his political career and his party.

Cool dress, anyway.

Bearpawk · 07/07/2024 10:31

She looks great.

Careful now, people will be passive agressive nasty because you happended to not like a dress and say it out loud

I thouth style & beauty was one of the safest corners of MN

In my posts I never said a bad word about this woman but alluded to her money and choices - somehow this makes me a bad person

I’m sure if wasn’t for the politics and this was a random person, the tone of the responses would be much different
