Politics aside, but is this hideous and not best for her frame, or is it me?^^

I thought that she looked lovely as usual

lets see a picture of what you are wearing today?

turnipsarelush · 07/07/2024 09:59

She likes it. It has the union jack colours on. I'm not a fan of the high neck but it's fine.

MrsKwazi · 07/07/2024 09:59

Come on. That is a lovely dress, she is always super stylish.

LivelyBlake · 07/07/2024 10:00

I like it a lot. What kind of dresses do you like OP?

Corinthiana · 07/07/2024 10:00

I agree. She's a very attractive woman, very petite and as you say, money is no object! It's a strange one because it's actually quite ugly imo. However, I've noticed a trend for the very oversized clothes with large prints. Not to my taste, but she's certainly made a mark.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 07/07/2024 10:01

It's too bold for me, but I admire people who aren't afraid to go for something bold. It was a statement, maybe 'We're not beaten!'

Cuppapuppa · 07/07/2024 10:02

I like it and it’s fitting, right colours, weather appropriate, etc.

What do you normally wear?

AtrociousCircumstance · 07/07/2024 10:03

It’s unusual. I think she looks cool. The fact that it’s shockingly expensive is the notable thing.

Cuppapuppa · 07/07/2024 10:03

And you definitely need a small frame to pull off that neckline, bodice and pattern.

Moveoverdarlin · 07/07/2024 10:03

Personally I think you have to be very slim, very tall and quite flat chested to pull off a high neck, busy pattern like that. No I would not wear it. At 5 foot 5, I’m not tall enough.

poshsnobtwit · 07/07/2024 10:03

Because she likes it and doesn't need validation from anyone?

Cuppapuppa · 07/07/2024 10:04

It was also an Indian label which is nice.

DancingPhantomsOnTheTerrace · 07/07/2024 10:05

I personally don't like the dress. But I don't think it deserves ridicule, it's not laughably awful by a long way!

My first thought was that it would look much better if she had a bit of a bust!

Skybluepinky · 07/07/2024 10:06

Her taste, she didn’t wear it for u.

Notgivingup54 · 07/07/2024 10:06

If only women could get past criticising each other.

1yearplan · 07/07/2024 10:06

I really like it.

I don't think anyone is ridiculing it. The worst thing is people not liking it. This is on the style and beauty forum, we discuss style.

foothandmouth · 07/07/2024 10:06

What did you think of her husbands outfit!

sunshinegrey · 07/07/2024 10:07

I think the patterns are too overwhelming for her frame and she could have chosen something with the same colours but more delicate stripes or maybe solid

And white shoes?

Shut up about what I’m wearing. This is not about me (or even about her as such) but about the dress

And I’m wearing old pijamas right now but I’m not the richest person in the world standing for pictures, am I?

Rather oddly, my husband, who has said nothing about the election at all, actually asked me if I'd seen what she was wearing and said how ridiculous it was. I thought that was so odd, how he would even notice, and how her dress could bother anyone at all but it seems I was wrong.

It's not a dress I would wear but I think she looks perfectly fine. She'd get criticism either way.

Corinthiana · 07/07/2024 10:08

No-one has criticised this woman. We're discussing her outfit. It's not AIBU.

ChangeyTime · 07/07/2024 10:08

Think it looks fine.

Not my taste but she had a lot more money and fashion knowledge than me so I figure she is better informed as to what to wear.

heldinadream · 07/07/2024 10:09

Very hard to choose the right dress/clothes for that particular occasion. On the world stage but in the background like a prop. Needing to be silent and dignified. Knowing full well that whatever she wears will be talked about. Everyone knows she's rich - so should she spend a lot and be accused of rubbing people's face in it, or not a lot and be accused of pretending to be slumming it?

It's a hand made dress by an Indian designer, which is a perfect choice for her heritage and supporting a small designer of her choice. It's both modest and striking and as someone else pointed out it's red, white and blue.

I think she got it right.

I am a WOMAN so I pay attention to WOMEN’S outfits.

Don’t bring politics or feminism into it

Isn’t this forum about clothes?
