Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

Ah, this makes a lot of sense. I remember the first CB (maybe even first couple?) selling out immediately and being really desirable. This was before I could afford one. Then when I started buying calendars I expected CB to be amazing and every year I've been disappointed. Is it the Hut Group now?

yes, that's right. so the first year they bought over it was still fantastic as it was already decided on. I have not had interest in buying it after but it still seem to be popular - just not as much

I dunno. I bought cult beauty the first year it came out and found it pretty disappointing (I think a lot of people did). It was almost £200 and mostly teeny weeny sample sizes.

I bought it another two years since then (I think 2021 and 2022) and thought that it was vastly improved in terms of sizes and value for money. Skipped last year as I found the contents uninspiring.

Overall, I think that the competition, and the standard of beauty calendars has improved over the years.

I got CB in 2022 and really liked it. Last year's was, as @MidnightMeltdown said, completely uninspiring. What they have released so far this year is not exciting me either.

I really like the look of Liberty this year and am hoping that maybe the reason it's not available for pre-order to Ireland is because it's only available to beauty drop customers so far (is that the case?) and beauty drop is not available to Irish customers.

One thing I don't like about a lot of the calendars is they claim smaller sizes are full size just because they are available for sale. I would class a lot of them as Delux or travel size, rather than full size.

Liberty are touting the AB The Rich cream as full size but it is only 15ml. 15ml is not, by any stretch of the imagination full size for a face cream.

They are all at it with AB rich cream or 10ml oil trying to bump up the value or makeup that is colours that wouldn't sell easy.

I tried to tag you yesterday afternoon on my post @OchonAgusOchonOh - I got in touch with Liberty Customer Service yesterday and they confirmed they will not deliver to Ireland this year, but could give no good reason why... (surely they ship on boats and planes to other countries, I can't understand why it's only an issue for Ireland and the Channel Islands!)

Vogue delivered to Ireland last year so will see if they deliver this year again.

I can’t believe it’s advent calendar discussion time already! None of them jumped out at me last year and I ended up not getting one. I really missed it though!

Usually it’s either Cult beauty or Space NK which gets my vote. Can’t say the contents of CB so far have inspired me much though. A new Space NK has opened semi near me and I finally got a chance to go in the other day and I think I could have spent the day there 😳 I’m hoping for a decent calendar from them!

That is frustrating. Lesson learned - don't enter anything in to the spreadsheet until I have confirmed it can be delivered here 😁

you could deliver it to NI and make it a trip to there, if you are not based too far from the boarder?

Good idea but I'm pretty south so too much of a trek. Might work for someone closer to the border though.

I raised your enquiry with my management and team and have been made aware that once the calendar is released (4th September) then you will be able to order this to be delivered to Ireland.

I can see Space NK have wait list and price, and image of the calendar but nothing else. The box is pretty and very different - looks more narrow then what I have seen them do before.

I think they did this last year (or maybe the year before actually) and then it turned out half of it wasn't actually in the calendar. I think it's more of a wishlist than a teaser.

Somebody should really tell these companies that eyeliners actually come in shades other than black. They do seem to take a Henry Ford approach to them ("Any colour the customer wants, so long as it's black").

I can’t believe they are already releasing the 2024 beauty advents! I ended up buying 3 last year after following this thread.

The Anthropologie AC details have been released tonight on the Beauty Advent Calendar website. The box is gorgeous, but I think the contents are disappointing. - it has a repeat nail polish from last year too. I had Anthropologie last year & loved it. I got it for a really good deal & loved the contents. I'm not tempted this year.

I wasn't tempted last year, but actually I think it looks pretty good this year. I think it depends what you're looking for and what you had in recent years. I've been lucky enough to have luxury ones the past few years and I think I have enough stuff, so a slightly lower price point might tempt me this year. I still get a daily treat but I don't need to spend almost £300 to get it. The brands appeal to me, and the makeup colours would suit me. Some of the items are a bit small, but at the less than £100 price point you kinda expect that.

I like F&M so far. I had No7 last year and thought it excellent value but would like something a bit more luxurious.

But maybe I'll have gin instead 😆

I had the Boots premium last year and really enjoyed it. I also had No & for jadvent and found that a bit boring. I much prefer the multi-brand calendars.

Nothing is grabbing me so far, although I think I said the same last year and still bought a few.

Previous ACs have introduced me to various products that I now want to stick with so I’m probably even fussier too.

I’ll see how it goes. I found the post Christmas edits from the likes of Space NK, CB and Sephora much more appealing last year but obviously it takes away the fun of opening the AC along with the threads here.
